An attack

Star:

I see everyone running around to take shelter, some in their wolf form and some in their human form, with and without a broken limb, still trying to get out of the place.

I pick up my pace and start to run towards the exit too.

Just when we are close to the exit, everyone starts to run back to where they are coming from, and I change my direction too.

Running close to a boy in his wolf form, the heavy diamond chandelier hanging from the roof suddenly comes falling and crushing hard on his head, poorly taking me out.

The scene makes my leg weaken, and I fall to my knees, screaming at his bleeding head.

There hasn’t been an attack in ages, this is my first experience and it’s frightening. The Redmoon pack doesn’t make enemies, so who could it be?

“Everyone! Move towards the south; it is an attack. Find protection at all costs."My attention is suddenly taken by Beta Herold, Alpha Ark’s right hand and best friend, who starts to scream against the chaos, pointing towards the south and repeating his words.

I grab my dress, now tinted with a little blood, and get on my feet again.

My eyes catch Blythe running with the crowd with a boy holding her hand, and I know in an instant that she has found her mate. The way you can feel their bond from afar

My heart aches softly at the sight of it.

But that is not something to worry about. We’re all about to be killed.

“This is all your fault!” An unfamiliar voice echoes in my head, and I stop running.

What was that?

“This is all your fault, Star."

What?

I pause.

I turn around because I am hundred percent sure that cannot be in my head.

But everyone is running for their lives.

So who the hell would say that?

“Star…” Alpha Ark yells my name and, in full speed, pulls my body away from the sudden rock that hits the floor from where I was standing.

That was a close call.

I am still in shock when Alpha Ark says “Come with me!”

grabbing my hand and pulling me in a different direction, the direction where the attack is coming from. I am left with nothing but confusion.

“Only you can end this,” He yells over the screams and thud.

What?

What does he mean? Only I can end this.

I don’t question his words of action and just run along with him.

He is the alpha; whatever decision he makes for any member of the pack, we do it.

Everyone’s wolf is submissive to his commands.

Though I don’t have a wolf yet to fall under his command,

He saved my life as a child. I could have lived worse, but he took me in.

So his wishes are my command.

Using using immense hyper speed to prevent any falling rocks. we make it outside in one piece.

Well, I did. Alpha Ark took over every sharp object that was coming my way, getting all sorts of cuts and marks on his jacked body.

Before daylight, all his wounds will heal. So it's nothing to him.

If it were me, I would be swimming with pain for a whole week.

Ark takes me to a small cabin close to the Banquet hall, where the chaos doesn’t seem much, and into a quiet, darkened room.

“Alpha Ark, where are you taking me?” I ask, feeling a bit unsteady from all the running as we make it through a dark hallway now.

“Just trust me on this one, Star." His voice is filled with assurance, and I feel myself calm.

Alpha Ark will never do anything to hurt me, right?

But how am I responsible for all of this, and how the hell can I stop it?

A worthless omega like me? That has no power or connection. caused an attack? And will be able to fix it?

What is honestly going on?

We finally make it to our destination, and Alpha Ark slowly leads me into a quiet, dimly lit room.

Just how many rooms have we walked by?

I am exhausted already.

Suddenly I start to feel my stomach twitch, not because I was scared but because it is twitching in an unsual way I can’t control. And this slow burning feeling on my skin.

“She’s here,” Alpha Ark announces, gently pushing me forward.

I freeze and start to take in everyone in the room, straining my eyes, thanks to the dim lights.

Luna Moria is standing at a corner, staring at the floor, a sad expression on her face. Two men in black with thick riffles are guarding a man sitting in a chair, smoking a pipe, at the end of the room, all of them staring at me.

“Turn on the damn lights, so I can get a proper look at her." The one sitting on the chair commands. His voice is thick and deep; it makes your heart pound horribly. Every bone in me wants to be fearful and submissive just hearing his voice.

Moria immediately rubs her hand against the wall to find the light switch.

For the first time in forever, I see Moria looking a little intimidated and scared.

The light goes on in the room, and I take in the man who has suddenly given orders to see me properly.

The man glares at me with his piercing blue eyes, and I freeze.

My goodness.

I have never seen such perfect eyes before. Under the room’s light, you can notice his flawless skin and thick, dark hair that frames his eyebrows beautifully. His body is lean and muscular, but not overly bulky. His skin is tanned, and he has such broad shoulders.

Suddenly, I hear a voice in my head, almost sounding like it’s being drowned out by something powerful.

“M-

I try to listen to the voice, but the man’s thick voice overtakes it immediately.

“She’s the one?” The man says, his tone holding a lot of disgust.

“Y-yes… I am sorry we did not dress her according to your taste, but I promise Alpha Klein, she is perfect.”

My head snaps at Luna Moria.

Dress me according to his taste.

What the hell is happening?

And that name? Alpha klein…

Alpha Klein Sinn...

The Alpha King?

No… It couldn’t be...

Every living werewolf knows about Alpha Klein. For ages, which goes as far as possible, the werewolf community has had a royal family, a royal bloodline so strong it’s unending. And the Alpha King reigns over every pack and Alpha in the community. All have heard of Alpha King Klein, but not everyone has had the privilege to meet him in person.

And now I am standing in front of him. He is everything you could expect from the rumours.

He is also known as the Beast, not because he is partly a demon, which everyone suspects he might be, but because he is ruthless. Of all the Alpha kings that have reigned and ruled, Alpha Klein is the most different. As I have heard, he is unspeakably brutal and a danger to those who cross paths with him. He has brought death and destruction to his enemies, and sometimes even to his allies, just to get what he wants. He is cunning, but his intelligence and strength are above all to manipulate anyone in his way.

You do not want to mess with the Alpha King or even look him in the eye.

"What is going on?” My voice trembles as I ask Luna Moria.

She doesn’t reply to me; instead, she turns to face the Alpha King, who is busy looking at me with his peculiar blue eyes.

"Is she capable?” Alpha Klein's eyes shimmer as he asks.

“More than capable,” Alpha Ark chimes in.

Capable of what?

“I can smell your fear, Ark. you're lying. After all I did for the Redmoon pack, you’re trying to deceive me by handing me some worthless werewolf."Alpha Klein growls, his thick voice causing Luna Moria to flinch.

“She is not worthless. Please, I promise. Stop the attack; half of the pack is getting killed; she’s everything you’re asking for.” Alpha Ark sounds defeated.

Still in my world of bewilderment, I am trying to understand what in the world is going on and why I am being presented to the Alpha King as I snap my head around, staring at everyone.

Alpha Klein gets on his feet, and his height immediately towers over everyone in the room, causing me to feel like I’m being eaten alive. He gets close to me and shifts his body weight to lean down towards me, and slowly he takes a good look at me and scoffs.

His eyes are alluring, almost setting me in place. I want to look away, but I can’t. Clearly, he’s seeing me as something worthless. But yet I am seeing him as something—so much.

“Your name?” He growls..

I find myself glancing at Luna Moria for help, but I am stuck when she gives a bitter, angry stare.

I turn back to that Alpha King.

"Star!" I reply.

The moment I breathe out my name, he stops and gives me a look I can’t decipher. He gazes at me with a mild astonishment, a hint of confusion hinted across his features, but he immediately conceals his expression into neutrality.

“M…”

“….”

I hear that drowning voice in my head. But I can’t get a hold of it.

The fading voice in my head and Alpha Klein's pinning gaze are still striking me.

I don’t know; there’s something about his eyes that just makes me want to grant every command he gives, lie low, and be submissive to any of his orders.

What is this feeling?

Is this the power of the Alpha King?

Is this how it feels when Alpha Ark makes every wolf in his pack submit to his every command?

Well, it’s clearly the hierarchy; the Alpha wolves can make the weaker wolves submit to them with just their voice alone. But Alpha Ark commands have never had an effect on me. I just willingly oblige.

But with the Alpha King... I feel like a wet log.

His lashes bat unwillingly as he looks away from me, and my sharp sense of hearing picks up his words under his breath.

“Fuck… no”

With a sigh, Alpha Klein straightens his position and turns to his men.

“Stop the attack... The Redmoon pack has kept their promise; we’ve found ourselves my new bride."

My knees weaken in shock.
