A NEW POLICY

Kayden's team was in the office. It's been a hectic week for them. From them getting calls from fans to ask to reduce Kayden's workload, to them being given death threats by toxic fans.

Star entertainment was extra busy. Kayden's new album promotion, photoshoots, and fan signing event were being planned.

“Boy! You really did have to say that.” Alfred said as he huffed, taking his executive seat.

Kayden, who was sitting down on the expensive black couch in Alfred's office, just kept on typing on his phone.

“I had too. Catherine and Eylon kept bothering me. And yes, I was being overworked, I am exhausted”

“I understand, but why is the name of your album green, and why did you tell the production team to change the albums cover to your design, green eyes!” Alfred huffed out.

Kayden just kept his phone and stared at Alfred like he had grown two horns with the way he was shouting.

“Calm down, Alf, it's not that deep.”

“You changed. Ever since you came back from your vacation months ago, did something happen? Because you are not behaving quite like yourself.” Alfred said.

“Well, I found an inspiration, I learned quite a lot during my vacation. Yes, I am keeping stuff from you because it's private.” Kayden said, looking at Alfred, who was staring widely at him.

“Boy, you better cut that crap and tell me.” Alfred said with pique interest.

“Well, don't shout at me. Just listen.” Kayden said, calmly watching Alfred's reaction.

“Go on” Alfred said, motioning to him to start the conversation.

“Jace and I went out on a midnight drive one day during my vacation, Jace mistook a girl as a stalker and got her hurt.......” Kayden said slowly.

“WHAT!” Alfred screamed.

“Don't yell at me. It was not my intention.” Kayden sad defensively.

“Is she black mailing you?” Alfred asked worriedly, already thinking of ways to eliminate the threat.

“Quite the opposite, actually, I asked her to dm me privately, and she did not.” Kayden said, sitting up, staring at Alfred.

He was still shocked. He must have gotten used to getting everything he wanted. He did not like the feeling of being rejected, and it reminded him of his past. One thing about Kayden was that he hated his past.

“What does she have to do with all these?”

“I keep thinking about her, I even paid a private investigator to keep tabs on her” Kayden said in a low tone, obviously not wanting Alfred to catch that part.

“You fucking did what?” Alfred shouted.

“In my defense, I was star struck. She's the prettiest girl alive.” Kayden said.

Alfred was dumbfounded, he was tired of shouting at Kayden. One thing he noticed was that his eyes were bright and full of life.

Something he thought he had lost, the gift of seeing Kayden's eyes shinning brightly.

“Have you told her yet?” Alfred asked.

“No, I haven't, the only reason I hired a private investigator was that she wasn't on any social media platform” Kayden said, feeling a bit ashamed of his actions.

“After, your album promotion and release, you'll take a 6-month hiatus. You deserve to rest and get your inspiration back, and, of course, these are flimsy excuses, you need to get her.” Alfred said to Kayden, whose eyes lit up instantly with happiness.

“Really?” Kayden asked.

“Of course, as your manager and boss I disagree strongly, but as your guidian, I say you go chase this girl” Alfred said.

“You really want to let me go after a girl you know nothing about. She's not a celebrity, she's a college student” Kayden said.

“Even better, well speaking of college, we have a little bit of problem,” Alfred said in a serious tone.

“What is it now?” Kayden sighed, not liking the change in his tone.

“So there's a new policy about online degrees, I know you've been working hard but due to excess fabrications and loss of college documents, online college students are now expected to attend their college physically at least for 1 year” Alfred ended.

Kayden stared at him like he was mad.

“I tried pushing this as far as I could, that's why after this music season you get to take some days off and start a life as a student. ”Alfred said.

“Your big speech about chasing the girl of my dreams was just to butter me up? I would really be taking a hiatus not for six months but a year?” Kayden asked bewildered.

“I am sorry, I didn't know how to break the news to you.” Alfred said apologetically.

Kayden stared at Alfred for some time and then finally spoke.

“You really are a strategist, do I get to decide the college I get to finish my programme?” Kayden said, hoping it was possible.

“Yes, you do. That's the least I could do for you.”

“Alright then, I'll go to Regal University to complete my programme. I want to be a graduate, you know?” Kayden said.

“You mean Regal University in New City?” Alfred asked.

“Yes that one.” Kayden answered as he sunk deeper into the comfy couch.

“Any reason in particular?” Alfred asked.

“I am just trying to chase my dream in the top world-class university, ” Kayden said as he waved Alfred off.

The conversation wasn't bad as how Alfred had imagined it would. Normal, Kayden would have thrown a tantrum.

Looking at the files on his desk, he let out a deep long sigh.

He has a lot to tell the press. From Kayden's Album release to his hiatus due to the world education policy, God! Everything has been hard.

Signing and rejecting files, he looked up from the paper to see a sleeping Kayden.

Alfred was happy because Kayden had stopped using Pills for the past months, a huge progress. He was grateful to the Angel God must have sent Kayden's way.

Alfred also excluded some information. He didn't want Kayden to know that his parents visited his home and caused a huge scene. He didn't want to bother Kayden. Furthermore, he had gone through so much already.

If Kayden knew about it, there would be no telling what he would do. He hated his parents that much.

Finally done with that day's workload, he went over to Kayden.

“Get up Boy, it's time to leave,” Alfred said to Kayden, who stirred in his sleep.

“Just a minute I am this close to kissing her” Kayden mumbled sleepily.

“Get up now! You absolutely will not have a wet dream in my office” Alfred shouted.

The audacity of this Kid. He was so happy that Kayden would be taking a hiatus, he needed to rest from all this too.
