Henry ended up untying Elizabeth’s hands. She did have to use the restroom, and she for sure would need to use her hands to eat. He doubted that she would let him feed her, although it would be a great pleasure for him.
He wrecked his head, thinking about what he should say to her, to explain things, to make it easy for her to understand, to make her accept him, and let him just enjoy her presence. Henry wanted to call his brother for help to ask him what he did and how he handled his now-wife when he found her, but he knew that wouldn’t make much of a difference. Elizabeth finished her meal in silence even though she lost appetite after his bitter words. She was engulfed in her own thoughts that were confusing her more than anything. Henry had a small, sad smile on his face. “This wasn’t supposed to turn out like this... You shouldn’t be scared of me. But I understand why you are.” “I am sorry, but I can’t help it. You drugged me. Twice. You kidnapped me. Elizabeth stayed in the shower as long as there was hot water. She liked hot water for as long as she could remember, it always had some sort of calming effect on her. This time though, not only did she want that therapeutic effect, but she also wanted Henry to freeze in there. She could not do anything else to him anyway, so this little thing was to count, right? She pulled on his sweats and shirt that were way too big for her even though she was of average built and height. She had to roll the top of the sweats a few times to stop them from falling. In the cabinet, she found a spare toothbrush, and she helped herself with it as well as she helped herself with his shampoo and soap.

The landscape in front of the cottage left Elizabeth breathless. It was like a postcard scene, a wooden house, the stone path to the lake surrounded by trees and bushes. Sun was high, and ray beams were reflecting on the water surface, creating a beautiful sight. It all looked like a small piece of heaven right here in front of them. “It’s breathtaking,” Elizabeth whispered, not wanting to disturb this perfectness in any way. And that was the truth. She didn’t want to leave. No matter how everything began, no matter how they met, no matter that he kidnapped her and scared her to death, it all came down to this. She didn’t want to leave. Somehow, somewhere along the way, she stopped being scared of him and started enjoying his mere presence, his voice, his stories. Honestly, being near him felt like she never felt before in her life. It felt like home.
