“When the sun goes away. The Night Creatures comes out to play”

 Year 2000

Luna Monica's POV

Today I watched the daylight faded in to night. This is the 150th year since the Blood Moon first appeared.

This night marks the seventh night where we get blessed by the goddesses.

Dark stormy clouds hovered above the sky creating a blanket over the blood moon.

The moon is a symbol for us Creatures of the night that the three goddesses are watching over us.

Glancing at the clock. The red color of time flared as it indicates 10:46 pm.

My mate’s arm tightened his hold against me and he snuggled even closer to me. I decided to let myself be wrapped up by mate’s warmth for 1 more hour.

That 1 hour will be enough to keep me going for years. This will be the last time that I will enjoy my mate's embrace.

When the clock shows 11:36, that’s when I decided that I need to go. Slowly removing my mate’s arm around me. I quietly made my way to the cot of my barely a day old daughter.

The bloody moonlight illuminated her sleeping form.

I looked at her features and memorized every single detail trying to embed them to my memory forever.

I caressed her barely-there mop of hair feeling her soft black strands of hair slightly kiss my finger tips was enough to make me tear up.

She’s so small and yet hear I am, leaving her. My heart was breaking all over again as I realized how much of a failure I am.

I failed as a mate but most of all I failed as a mother.

Hopefully they’ll forgive me when the right time comes.

With a heavy heart I detached my fingertips to her hair and glanced at her one more time.

Luckily I found my mate’s cloak lying on the floor, without any thoughts I slipped it on.

*****

Creeping into the night even though it was dark, I still managed to find the door knob thanks to my werewolf senses.

With a shaky hand, I twisted the door knob and cursed myself as it made a creaking noise. I opened it wide enough for me to squeeze through.

Finally stepping out of the comfort of our home I was immediately hit by the chilly wind as goose bumps suddenly starts to appear on my skin. I started to tighten the hold that I have on the coat and started rubbing my arms up and down to provide heat.

It took my body a while to get accustomed to the cold.

I started walking carefully straight to the woods trying not to make any unnecessary noises to avoid getting caught since there are still wolves patrolling the area.

When I know that I’ve already reached the dense part of the woods, I tightened my grip on my cloak as I dash through the thick forest trees.

I could feel my heart hammering against my ribcage followed by my ragged breath.

I was once again thankful for my werewolf genes cause I have reached it this far considering the fact that I just gave birth hours ago.

The sound of my thumping feet echoes throughout the forest floor as I tried to get as far away as possible.

If only I could shift. Everything would have been easier. But since my body is still busy repairing some tissues after giving birth. I decided to continue on running in my human form.

I need to turn my back to everyone especially to my mate and new born pup. I never wanted to do this but I cannot come up with other choices either.

Call me a coward all you want but running away has been the best solution to lure the hunters far away and to keep my family safe.

I was a few minutes away from the border when small droplets of water began falling down.

The forest floor started to get damp making it hard for me to run. But nonetheless I still pushed my legs to run faster, the sheer will and determination of my family’s safety has overpowered the fatigue that I started to feel.

From once a drizzle now became a full pledge storm. I’m not sure if luck was on my side or that the goddesses are watching from above. But the rain is both a blessing and a curse.

A blessing, because it can mask my scent, making it hard for others to track me.

A curse, because the air is already chilly enough and adding a storm to the equation makes everything a lot more harder.

I tried not to dwell on anything anymore, what's important is to keep them safe even if it means leaving my heart behind.

  • His To Claim   Chapter 16: Pain

There was a long pause and a minute of silence between me and my mother. Her yellow eyes were glinting with anger and ferociousness as she stared at me cautiously. I approached her slowly to try and hug her but she thought that I was about to inflict harm on her so her instincts were doing the flight or fight response, and she chose the latter since she decided attack me. She lunge at me with her blaring fangs and she was stopped mid air. Fortunately she was held back by the shackles and the long chain attached to her ankles, She just looked at me with her eyes burning in rage and her chest was huffing up and down as she breath in and out deeply, her claws are now slowly appearing.

  • His To Claim   Chapter 15: Alpha Alexander

Alpha Alexander's POV(Same time as the ceremony) I opened my eyes and noticed that the room was dark. I must have slept throughout the afternoon. The room is only illuminated by the moon peeking from my curtains, giving my plain and boring bedroom a nice moonlight glow. I was about to go out today and witness a Luna Ceremony but I have more important things to do. Running a Werewolf Kingdom has never been an easy task. I have no time to waste and every second counts. And consider the fact that I ascended on the throne at such a young age with no parents to ever guide me. Everyday has never been the same. New problems would arise day after the other and the constant nagging of the committee for me to find my mate is getting on my nerves. And as their king I must put the kingdom first even if it means sacrificing myself. The kingdom needs an heir to keep the royal bloodline alive. With the consta

  • His To Claim   Chapter 14: Unknown Vampire

From a far of distance I can see the outline of the orphanage. I can also hear the sound of the children's cries. My heart wretched as I hear them, they have already suffered a painful lose and now this? Another very traumatic event. We were almost there when two rogues jumped infront of us. All of us stopped on our tracks. Their yellow eyes shines in mischief under the moonlight. Their teeth were blaring at us and they smell strongly like a rotting flesh. Daston and John shifted right before our very eyes and charged at the Rogues. We all took that as an opportunity to run and get to the orphanage. When we got there some of the kids were screaming and crying outside. Their instincts must have made them realize that something is wrong. When we got there, the pups immediately hugged us. Their tear stained faces were very heart breaking to look at. "Lia, do some head count. It should be 38." Kamille and I went

  • His To Claim   Chapter 13: Rogues

The pups and the non warriors were ushered to the hidden shelters/bunkers. Each pack has to built them in case of emergency cases like this. It is better to be safe than sorry. Because of our huge numbers and the vast territory, our pack has built multiple hidden bunkers. There is one on each side of the territory. Northern bunker, Southern bunker, Eastern bunker and the Western bunker. Ever since the attack that has happened 2 decades ago, the records of any rogue attacks that has been happening were very frequent. Even other packs were alarmed by the growing attacks of rogues in our territory. Up until now we don't have any idea why they are attacking. I went down on the stage

  • His To Claim   Chapter 12: Stroke of Midnight

"All leaders? And yet the leader of the leaders did not even bother to show up." "He must be busy with paperworks." I rolled my eyes and clicked my tongue distastefully. Sure pops, defend him. Busy my *ss! Maybe he is indeed busy. Busy frolicking with wh*rish wolves. I seriously pity his mate though. We were only given one chance mate. One the rejection takes place it is like you are killing yourself. Our mates is our other half, without them ourself will lose all sense of direction. Other will die or will turn Rogue because of the heartbreak. The future Queen will have a really massive headache. IT is such a shame. While we were walking along the hallways I started to imagine torturous things that could inflict a great degree of pain on unfaitful wolves like him. Like maybe tying him upside down. Chopping his thingy off. Put him on an electric chair and electrecute him until he learns his lesson. I was th
