Maybell Smith

I move around in the cloud that I'm somehow laying in and slowly come to, as I figure out what happened, and where I am. Opening my eyes, the bright light stabs me. I look around and see the most beautiful bedroom I have ever found myself in. The bed that is in the middle of the space is a dark blue with wooden beams that come out of the corners. There is a dresser right on the end of the bed that is a light brown, with a hint of gold. The carpet is white, and looks like it could be the softest thing my feet have ever touched. Sliding off the king sized bed, my feet hit the carpet and confirmed my suspicions. It is in fact, the softest thing these feet have touched in their little life. Getting out of the bed, I make my way to the door and peek out. Standing at the end of the hall talking to the giant man, is my twin.

“Look, I know you're nervous, but this is the safest place for her. Archer’s not a bad guy, he is just older than dirt and doesn't know anything”. Clicking my tongue, I use the morse code Paison and I learned as kids. Doing what I said, he stands still and makes it seem like he is paying attention to Oliver, who just keeps on talking about this “Archer '' guy.

Clicking my tongue furiously, I basically ask him what in the hell is happening. Tapping his foot on the ground, I read the code that says that he didn’t have a choice in coming here because Archer, whoever that is, knows what I am and told him that he could protect me. Clicking again, I explained that we need to get out of here and find somewhere to hide since someone saw me.

Suddenly the hallway seemed too quiet. The man that was supposed to be talking suddenly stopped and was looking straight at me. Slamming the door shut, I slide down the door and rest on the floor letting out a sigh of relief that there is a door between us. Knocking echoes around the room making me squeak and jump to my feet. Opening the door, I peek out and see the black haired beauty staring back at me.

“Hello,” I said, looking down at my bare feet. Not willing to look up, I get distracted when a glowing light comes from my rib cage. Getting this tickling feeling, I lift my shirt and take a look. Blue dragons with ice spitting from their mouths are shaped into a yin and yang sign. The glowing gets brighter, so I shield my eyes before looking down once more. My blue dragons turned into one blue and one red dragon, seeming to battle each other. Shock and disbelief come from the man in front of me. I hear a groan sound from behind him and look around his shoulder to see the same stranger I thought I had dreamed about.

His bright red hair falls over his eyes that seem to be pitch black. He is almost as big as the giant standing next to him, although Oliver has at least an inch on him. They make Paison look like a toddler. Looking up to his face I notice the sharp jaw that perfectly defines his face. These men could be on the front of a magazine.

“What just happened” I ask, although it seems that whatever just happened has something to do with the red haired guy. Aren’t I such a detective?

“We’ve bonded.” He says in an awed tone. Recalling the many books that I threw on the ground in the library, I recall that bonding is what this God gave his “blessed” for more protection.

“What if I don’t want to be bonded? Is there any way to reverse this?” I say. I’m pretty sure I see not only him deflate, but Oliver next to him also.

“Why wouldn’t you want to be bonded?” Oliver says in a quiet voice.

“I don’t even know what that means, also I don’t know any of you, why would I want to bond myself to people that I don’t know?” I feel like I’m talking to a bunch of 3-year-olds! Apparently I need to do more research because these men look downright hurt that I would say that.

“Do you even know what bonding is?” He snaps back.

“Yeah, It’s this dumb thing this one god put in place to ruin my DAMN life.” I replied.

Who do they think they are, my father? He looks at Oliver and they share a look that says I won’t like whatever they are about to say.

“That one god” he retorts, dramatically putting up air quotes. “Gave the bonded a chance to survive. The reason why he would bond me to a stubborn girl like you, I have no clue, but obviously we need to learn something from each other”. Before I could comment back, he turned on his heels and stormed down the hallway. Like he actually storms. Snorting, I walk back into the room and shut the door, rather loudly. Leaning against the door I slide down and sit my ass on the floor.

I look over to my bag and pull out the ancient laptop I got to take my online classes, and pull up the site I was looking at to do more research. I specifically type in bonding so I can see what this random guy was talking about. Now that I think about it, I literally “Bonded” to a guy I don't even know. What the hell has the world come to?

Powering on the laptop took a lot longer than I expected, and then I got to researching.

Bonding- the God, Dalion, wanted to give more protection to the creatures that he created by binding two people’s souls to each other. This is an unbreakable connection to enhance the power that is given to the Mythicals. In this connection the mark changes to show what dragon was bonded to one another. If a Mythical somehow bonds with a non-Mythical, The mark evolves into a dragon that curls itself around the shadow of a human.

Slamming the laptop shut, I huff out a breath and wonder what the hell I just read. Unbreakable? What does that mean? I’m stuck with this random guy for my whole life?

“PAISON.” I scream. He comes running into the room I'm in, and lands on his butt while tripping over me. While most of the time I would roll on the ground laughing at that. Right now, I'm way too pissed.

“Want to explain to me how I got into this situation?”

  • My Mythical Dragon   Chapter 13

Maybell Smith I'm not as upset as upset in the morning as I was last night. And I definitely owe Paison an apology! Snuggling back into the pillow that has been framing my face, I wonder if it is even worth it to get out of bed today. Looking around, I make my way to the walk-in closet that I am starting to fall in love with. It's a natural brown color inside. The three shelfs make the closet seem bigger than it is. The best part though? The outfits that Asher bought me are sitting color coordinated and by size. I picked up the army, green crop, and the white jeans that fit my figure. I walk into the bathroom, and look at the person in the mirror that is staring back at me. If you told me five days ago that I would be standing in a mansion, staring into my own reflection, I would highly suggest that you go get your head checked. I pull my hair into a dancer's bun, and put the diamond hair accessory around the bun. I’m not sure when I became the person that would put on a face ful

Archer Wild. Well, that was a lot of information. The knowledge that I came to know today is sailing in the waters in my head. I would have never thought that a father could do this to their child. And what is wrong with Oliver? Looking at the man in question, he has the same expression on his face that mirrors mine. Paison, on the other hand, is looking like he wants to punch the wall. “Paison, you have to tell me everything that happened from the moment you stepped out of your childhood home.” His face then loses color and he looks down at his shoes and starts talking. Paison’s POV “What are we going to do?” The pain in Maybells voice brings me to my knees. Being six and living on your own is not the ideal situation at all. How could he, the rage that flows through my veins is blinding. Making me see a scarlet shade of red. “What we are going to do is something that is going to hurt, but we need to move forward. We have to move on from the one home that we know.” Where ar

  • My Mythical Dragon   Chapter 11

Maybell Smith The dream that I had was weird. I swear, I just dreamed that my father showed up, and told me that he sold me out. Isn't that crazy. Blinking my eyes open, I stare at the ceiling and ponder what the hell happened. Especially because I have no clue how I got into this bed. Flinging myself upright, I look around at the familiar surroundings before me. The bedroom that Asher put me in when I got here, stund me into silence. I looked around, when all the memories came crashing back to me. Walking into the glorious mall. Smelling all the delicious smells in Bath and Body Works. Facing the person that had a hand in me being thrown out. Then, fighting the person that definitely did not have permission to touch me. All those things slap me in the face, when snoring brings me out of my head. Looking to my right, I see Asher sitting on a chair, with his top half on the bed. And this man is fast asleep. How the crap is he comfortable like this? Shaking him gently, he flings aw

  • My Mythical Dragon   Chapter 10

Archer WildGetting presents from the mall is something that shouldn't get overlooked. The mall is the main source of drama with everyone. Like the two kids at the food court fighting over a plate of orange chicken. I have a list of things that I want to get for the twins, like a new car and other things that they need just to be in my house. Having something that they could call theirs. It might brighten their mood towards me. Walking towards the other end of the mall, I see the theater in the distance and walk toward the brightly lit building that gives me a headache everytime. I see some movement in the alleyway, and look to see what is going on. I look over to see a young man and a woman struggling together. Something about seeing someone hurt a woman rubs me the wrong way. Walking toward them, I'm just in time to see him stick her with a needle and catch her falling into his arms.Running at full speed this time, I pull her away from him, and look down at the brown haired girl

  • My Mythical Dragon   Chapter 9

Maybell Smith Walking into town is a whole lot prettier when you have a roof over your head, and food constantly on the table. I never realized how beautiful the world can be when you have everything you need. Yeah, Paison and I do really well sometimes. But even with both of our jobs, mine being in a bar, his being at a fast food restaurant, we can't have a place to stay without putting out names on the lease. And that meant being caught by Fletcher. I never thought that this could be the place I would find someone to settle down with. Not that I'm actually settling down. With this threat spiraling over our heads, no one can actually become fully relaxed. Walking down the sidewalk, I see the mall at the other end and decide that I have nothing better to do right now. The mall is like your basic city mall. You have the food cart. The smells coming from there can have a grown man down on his knees to taste a bit. Over at the other end, is the theater. It is so big that you could fit

  • My Mythical Dragon   Chapter 8

Archer WildWhoa, someone is in trouble. Walking out of the room, I make my way with Oliver down to the basement to get some sort of workout in for the day. Wrapping my knuckles, I turn towards the bag and start to work my stress out of my body. This damn girl is going to drive me insane. I have lived on this earth for so long that I should be making the one that drives women crazy, but here I am tossing and turning over one little girl that has me so far out of the game, I can practically see my parents laughing at me beyond the grave. Even though I have dreamed of finding a mate, I was more worried about taking over for my dad, and becoming Mythical Alpha. Then Fletcher had to come in and ruin it, by practically wiping out my whole lineage. Fletcher has been on my trail for the last several hundred years. But the thing is, I don't know how he is doing it. For what I know, he is human. He should have died centuries ago. But, something on this earth keeps him alive and well. Taking
