She parted her lips to reveal the next words but a sudden commotion stole her attention away to where the noise had emerged from.

“There’s a fire!” A young man yelled running towards us in panic.

I instantly jumped up in alarm looking around my surroundings, “fire? Where?”

He paused for a moment breathing heavily, “in the motel down the street, it has almost burned to the ground.”

As soon as I heard that my soul left my body only to return in a matter of seconds as the realization hit me.

“Relax, there’s two motels in this area it might not be ours.” Kylie said trying to get me to calm down but I couldn’t think straight, I knew I had a bad feeling from the moment I stepped out.

Without waiting for any confirmation I dashed towards the direction of the motel, earnestly praying for god to keep my children safe.

I arrived there in no time, a lot of people were scattered outside, some watching with others trying to put out the fire.
