CHAPTER 158

AUTHOR'S POV:

The arrival of Ethan broke the uncomfortable silence and tension that followed Leonard's words.

"Alpha. I have vital information." Ethan said, looking Leonard in the eyes.

Leonard began walking away, following Ethan out of the place, but he wouldn't stop turning his neck and glaring at Damien, as though he was saying, "Keep off my mate."

Damien turned to face Ava, who stood, almost flustered as she began talking to Billie once she noticed that Damien was going to talk to her.

Something darkened in Damien's gaze and he walked up to Ava who was trying to avoid him, by walking away with Billie.

"Ava, can I talk to you for a moment?" His cracked voice betrayed his emotions even though he tried hard to conceal the fact that he was not hurt.

Leonard's words, that Ava was pregnant were so heavy on his heart -- so heavy that he found it hard to ask the dreaded question he yearned to ask.

His eyes twitched, his fingers shook, his lips trembled and his heart skipped a million beat
