CHAPTER 3
13 months agoOswald scanned the narrow street carefully, making sure to see no one had been on his tail. He pulled the cloak closer to himself as he trotted down an alleyway lined with algae. He watched children play with 'snowballs' and wrestle themselves in their wolf form. He watched a woman tendering to the apple tree just outside her house. He was yanked off the alleyway almost immediately, and he found himself inside a dark room, and his supposed captor closing the door quickly."Baron?" Oswald called out, unsure. Two claps later, and the room was devoid of darkness. Glowing yellow lights illuminated the room, and a man, about Oswald's age, wandered further into the room.Oswald chuckled, "It still reeks of bougainvillea, you see," he gestures at the room. Baron was the seer of the clan and also a wizard. And behind the seeing eyes of the clan, he was Oswald's childhood friend."I threw them away. Like you had suggested," Baron rolled his eyes dramatically, gesturing that Oswald take his seat."What was so important that wouldn't bring you to the palace? Or have one of those magic birds of yours send a message down to me?" Oswald asked, his curious eyes glistening in the dimly lit room."It is not something that I can't reveal without discussing with you first," Baron said, his hands caressing an orb on the hand rest of the chair he sat on."Reveal? What do you have to reveal?" Oswald raised a brow, realizing this might be as serious as Baron was portraying it to be. Baron sighed heavily, placing the orb in his hands and muttering a spell. The orb is encircled in emerald-colored mist, and an obscure figure appears within the orb."It's a curse. Your brother, the Alpha King, has it."Oswald stared back at the orb in horror, wondering what more Baron was going to tell him about the curse.Back to the present•weeks later•The Alpha King stared at his objects as they argued with one another on the Golden Table. He had invited them over to discuss the increasing rates of thefts occurring at the Pack’s food reserve. He didn't care about approving the hike in price of bread and wine, or how much it affected the people of his pack. His mind bore no such emotion — to be sympathetic. Reports of a little revolt group attacking guards began to rise up, and as annoying as it was for the Alpha King, his intervention was essential."They have to be punished,""I say they will be brought here to the palace before being executed. Who knows what their reasons are? If there are any more of them?"The Alpha King seemed interested in hearing the speaking subject as he leaned forward, his elbows resting on the Golden Table."We have to know what their intentions are directed at. It could be for a cause yet to be addressed by the …"The sound of metal scraping enveloped the hall, and everyone was quiet. The Alpha King was standing, staring at the subject who had been speaking moments ago, a devilish grin on his face. He took slow strides towards him, his claws clicking on the Golden Table. Just a few feet away, he motioned for the subject to continue with his statement.Quivering, the subject fought the urge a bit to."You were saying?" The sound of the Alpha King's voice sent his subject falling to his knees."Spare my life, my Alpha. I spoke out of stupidity. I poorly —""You did nothing wrong. You were giving a solid point. Come on," He crouched down, his long robe sweeping the floor, "get up now."He assisted his subject back up, a plastic smile on his face. He gestures again for him to continue."I was saying that —"The sound of metal ripping through flesh came next, and the subject standing had lost his head, blood spewing uncontrollably from his neck. No one had seen the Alpha King gesturing to the guard close by. No one had heard the sound of the guard's sword being removed from its sheath. Tension was building, and they knew better to keep quiet. It was a word in exchange for their lives."Does anyone here," he picked up his subject's head from the floor, his shocked expression still in place, "agree to what my friend here was talking about?"Silence."Does anyone here agree that we, the royals, are not up to the task?!" He thundered, squashing whatever was left of the head. The other subjects remained silent, their heads hung low. The devilish grin resumed its rightful position as the Alpha King walked back to his seat."I thought the same too," he said, wiping his hands clean with a tablecloth.* * *"He has to know the truth now!" Baron thundered, collapsing back into his bed. Oswald peeped through the window, taking a peek at the life outside the palace walls."I know," he muttered. Oswald grabbed his cloak and began heading towards the door. Baron stops him. He stared at Baron questioningly, "What is it?""It was wrong of you.""How is it wrong?!" Oswald yelled. "He never cared about her. Not even once. I was always there for her. He had ruled against her family coming to see her at the palace, and according to her, her family didn't care to try either. I … I was talking to her. What else could I have done?""She was carrying the King's child, Oswald. Are you that crazy?" Baron asked in disbelief."Yes," Oswald retorted, stepping out through the door and slamming it shut.Memories of Myra slapping him rushed in like a wave of magma. If he couldn't have her, he could at least have what he has always wanted. Before she came.He heard Baron speaking to him through his mind."He has to know. How are you going to be the next Alpha King if this doesn't happen?"CHAPTER 4Myra awakens, on to find herself immersed in blood. Her bed was completely soaked, and her child was nowhere to be found. She was back in the delivery room, and she could smell the presence of the Alpha King. There was a huge hold on the stone wall, and the wind was pouring in ice flakes vigorously. Her mind began to race as she yelled for her daughter."Alistair!" She cried, leaping for the door and banging on it with all her strength. She kept banging till her hands reddened, her skin battered and ready to bleed. Just then, she heard a loud cackle, and the scent of a different blood wafted past her nose. The Alpha King slowly emerges from a dark corner of the room, his mouth obviously moving like he was chewing down on something. His jaws were blood-stained, and his hands held what seemed to be like the remnants of a baby. Her baby."I asked for a son," was all he could day as he turned around and bit on what was left of the child. Myra morphs into her wolf form, anger bo
•CHAPTER 5Aeron and Oswald stared at each for what felt like eternity, one trying to read the other's next move. Disbelief was a new emotion the Alpha King processed; one which he couldn't remember when he had felt something similar."Who told you this?" Aeron asks."The Pack’s wizard." Oswald blurted.Aeron almost burst into laughter. "That imbecile?! How many times have I told you not to trust his —""Many years ago, our father had affiliations with a widow," Oswald interjected, "and he banished her to keep his secret safe with him. She has placed a curse on our father." He turned to Aeron. "She placed a curse on you too.""What was her curse?""She cursed you to know and decide nothing other than evil. I guess that explains your … powers." Oswald said, unsure of how to proceed.Aeron could tell he was holding back. "Go on," he purred, surprised by his impatience."She … cursed you to be evil and to be known for nothing other than evil. She had mentioned that if you don't sacrifice
Chapter 6– Outside Of The PackThe rogues smiled as they noticed the man behind their miseries was alone. Aeron had left the pack with no guards. He wanted to approach Myra by himself, if really what Oswald had revealed to him then he needed to placid Myra in order to get the daughter he rejected.Aeron’s ears perked and his feet tapped the floor impatiently as he waited for the rogues to attack. “Not so mighty now, are you?” The rogue teased, his canines barred in an attempt to scare the Alpha King.Aeron turned to him, a mischievous smile on his face as he strolled lazily away from the rogues. He didn’t get to ten steps before one of the rogues jumped at him, almost catching him off guard but Aeron was prepared for it. His claws dashed out in attack, clawing the chest of the rogue that had attacked while he jumped out of the way evading the rogue's touch. When other rogues saw what had happened, they all jumped towards him at once. With fury and determination in his eyes, Aeron beg
Chapter 7The King EnterpriseWith a deep breath Myra sighed as she took her steps into the gigantic building which still somehow didn’t cease to amaze her. Her senses was alight, all thanks to her being a werewolf. “Hi, I have an…”“Room 56, the office by the left,” the receptionist cut her shot as she chew her gum.Myra smiled gratefully at the receptionist and made her way towards Room 56. She could feel her heart pounding in her chest, a mix of nervousness and excitement. This job meant everything to her. It was her chance to prove herself capable of taking care of not just herself, but also her baby.Pushing open the door, she found herself face-to-face with a middle-aged man, his eyes glued to his laptop screen. His disheveled hair and worn-out suit hinted at the long hours he must have put into his work. Myra cleared her throat to get his attention, not wishing to interrupt, but unable to suppress her nerves any longer.Startled, the manager looked up, and the moment their eye
Chapter 8Myra stood in front of her closet, carefully selecting her outfit for her first day as a secretary. She wanted to look professional yet stylish, confident yet approachable. After much consideration, she decided on a chic black pencil skirt that hugged her curves and a vibrant coral-colored blouse that highlighted her warm complexion. Completing the ensemble were her favorite nude heels, a silver bracelet, and delicate pearl earrings. As she stepped into the living room, ready for her big day, Augustine's eyes widened in appreciation. His gaze lingered on her, taking in her beautiful appearance. In that moment, he couldn't help but admire her grace and attractiveness."Myra, you look absolutely stunning," Augustine said, breaking his silence. His voice was filled with admiration and warmth.A blush colored Myra's cheeks as she smiled and replied, "Thank you, Augustine. Your kind words mean a lot to me."Noticing the hint of nervousness in her eyes, Augustine walked over and g
Chapter 9Alpha Aeron stepped into the human world for the first time, his eyes wide with astonishment. Unlike the ice and snow of his Arctic kingdom, he found himself surrounded by towering buildings, bustling streets, and a cacophony of unfamiliar sounds. It was a stark contrast to everything he had known. His gaze shifted to the humans around him, their clothing and hairstyles strikingly different from his own. Aeron's long dreadlocks, which had been a symbol of power and majesty in his kingdom, seemed out of place amidst their neatly styled hair. But what surprised him the most was their reaction to his presence. As he walked through the crowd, he noticed that instead of showing fear or reverence, they looked at him with mockery, disgust, or amusement. Their laughter echoed in his ears, piercing his pride and igniting a fire within him.Just then, a man approached him, the smirk on his face evident. "Lost your way from the studio, buddy?" he jeered, his tone dripping with condesce
Chapter 10Myra stepped out of her sleek, black sedan, a reflection of her hard-earned success - a shiny Mercedes-Benz E-Class. She had worked tirelessly alongside Augustine for nearly four months, and her dedication had paid off. The hefty paycheck she received allowed her to indulge in luxuries she had once only dreamt of, including this impressive car.As she entered the daycare, the sound of children's laughter filled her ears, bringing a smile to her face. Allistar, her adorable five-month-old daughter, was surely among them. Myra's heart fluttered with anticipation as she made her way towards the room where Allistar spent her day.Opening the door, Myra was greeted by a chorus of joyful giggles. Her eyes quickly found her little bundle of joy, her daughter Allistar, sitting in a circle with the other children. Their eyes met, and Allistar's face lit up with delight. She stretched her tiny arms towards her mother, her laughter contagious."Hey, my sweet angel!" Myra cooed, swoopi
Chapter 11Augustine's eyes widened in disbelief as he listened to Myra's astonishing revelation. He shook his head vigorously, trying to collect his thoughts and make sense of the unbelievable situation unfolding before him. Finally, he found his voice and stammered, "Wait! So you're saying there is a monster out there looking for you?"Myra, her expression pained, quickly interjected, "No, Augustine, he's not a monster. He's... complicated."Augustine cut her off, a mix of confusion and frustration in his voice. "Complicated? From everything you've told me about how this alpha Aeron behaves, the only word that fits is 'monster'! Please, Myra, don't defend him. You described his actions as monstrous."Myra sighed, understanding Augustine's perspective but feeling conflicted. She stared at him earnestly. "Augustine, you don't understand. Aeron is my... fated mate."Augustine's eyes widened in shock once again. He struggled to find the right words, his voice trembling. "Your fated mate
