The Fate of the fake Omega

“I’m pregnant, Jake”

My heart thumped in my chest while I waited for a reaction from Jake. I had hoped that as my true mate, he would be happy to hear about the news of my pregnancy. But with the expression on his face at that point, I wasn’t so sure that I had made the right decision.

“What did you just say, Kira? That you’re pregnant? And whose bastard are you carrying?” Jake questioned, his eyes as cold as ice.

I looked around the room in worry as Jake’s voice rang above the noise. He had invited me for the pack party and I had decided that it was the best time to release the news of my pregnancy to him.

“Please Jake, bring down your voice. Almost the whole pack is watching us and they can hear you” I pleaded

“I don’t care about whoever is watching. Answer the damn question”

“What do you mean Jake? It’s not a bastard. You’re the father” I cried, hoping that Jake was pulling my legs with his statement.

Jake scoffed and looked at me like I was some kind of evil threatening to destroy his life. “I don’t think you know what you’re talking about. You should find the other men that you’ve opened your legs to; maybe they will claim your bastard. As for me, I will never accept that thing in your belly as mine because it is not”

I felt my eyes filling up with tears. The entire crowd had abandoned the party and was now focused on us. There were already side talks and fingers being pointed at me. I grabbed his hands in desperation.

“You are the only man that I’ve been with, Jack. You claimed me when I was still a virgin”

“So? Do I know the other men who have gone through the door since I opened it?”

“I thought you loved me Jake. Why are you suddenly so cold to me?”

“Love you? You must be dreaming. And I think you should wake up. I can never love someone so lowly like you. I am going to be made Alpha very soon and I cannot be seen with a weak wolf like you. You are just an omega and do not befit my status. I reject you, Kira Hudson as my mate and I reject the bastard in your belly”

I slid down the door as my heart shattered with that single word. I couldn’t believe what was happening to me at that moment. I didn’t know exactly what had gone wrong in my relationship with Jake. We had been so happy and I had finally accepted that he should take my innocence because I was convinced that he really loved me.

“Jake, I know that you do not mean those words. Look into my eyes and tell me that you do not want me”

He cocked his eyebrows up. “What! You think your eyes hold some kind of power over me? What a joke”

“Then why did you defile me if you knew you were going to reject me anyway? Why did you tamper with my innocence?” I asked him, tears brimming in my eyes.

He squatted down to eye level with me and wiped a tear from my eye

“Oh dear” he said. “Did you really think I’d fall for someone like you? You have really set your sights too high”

His hand slid to the back of my neck and he yanked my hair back, his breath fanning my face. I couldn’t believe that this was the same sweet Jake who had professed his love to me weeks ago when we were thrashing in the throes of passion. There was no way he would be this cruel person hurting me right now.

“Please, Jake, you’re hurting me” I pleaded, trying to release my hair from his hands.

“You are a filthy, weak, girl who I would never look at twice on a normal circumstance. I would never let you taint my bloodline”

“But why! Why did you have to do this to me?” I cried

He stood up straight and sneered at me

“You want to know why? You were behaving like the saint among sinners; like you were a kind of treasure and that you are hard to get. I had a bet with my friends, and I told them that I will get you into my bed within a month. And I did”

“Wha-what? You mean all those words you said to me were never real? You lied?”

“Of course I lied. Don’t ever deceive yourself Kira. I-hate-you! I hate the ground you walk on. I cannot stand taking the same air that you breathe. I hate your stupid smile. I hate the sound of your voice. I hate your blotted up body. Have you even looked at yourself in the mirror lately? You look like a bag of wool. I hate every single thing about you. You disgust me as much as anything I can think of. I don’t ever want to see your face again”

I watched Jake walk away after he said those hurtful words to me. I was torn between running after him, begging him to accept me back and retaining the little pride that I have left.

I have known Jake since I was eleven and have always had a crush on him. He was always distant and uninterested in me so I was surprised when he walked up to me on my seventeenth birthday and asked me out. Of course I had hurriedly accepted because that was an opportunity that I had been waiting for. When we found out that we were mates, I had been overjoyed because it meant that even the moon goddess approves of our love. I gave him my body with the hope of forever but what I never expected was the pregnancy.

I wanted to kill myself at this point. I wanted to take a silver bullet or wolfsbane in my body and end it all; and forget about this pain that I was feeling.

 “Ella…I should meet her. At least I still have my best friend. She will help me talk to Jake. Maybe he will listen to her and take me back”

I stood up from the floor, my legs wobbly as I did so. I made my way out of the party room. Each corner that I looked to had people pointing and laughing at me.

“What a loser. Thinking she could trap the soon to be alpha with a sob story of pregnancy. So pathetic.” I heard a girl say.

“She’s just a whore looking for cheap attention. Who knows how many men she must have slept with before trying to pin the bastard on the future alpha”

I couldn’t take it anymore. I knew that I had to leave that environment before I start having more suicidal thoughts. I had almost made it out when I saw her coming towards me; Gemi, the girl who had always wanted Jake to herself and who saw me as a stumbling block to her goal of getting him.

“Well, well, well, if it isn’t the whore who tried to snatch my man away. Where are you headed to in such a hurry?”

I faced Gemi, looking at her with watery eyes. “I’m just trying to get away. I do not want any trouble please”.

Gemi’s eyes flickered as she regarded me closely. “Get away from what exactly? Are you trying to hide?”

“No, I’m not trying to hide”, I said, trying to brush past the girl.

But she wasn’t having any of it. She stepped in my way, blocking me.

“I think you are. Maybe you’re trying to do something devious to Jake because he rejected you. Hmm? You think you can just come into our pack and take him away from me?”

I opened my mouth to speak but nothing came out. Gemi’s sneer turned into a malicious grin.

“You are nothing but a worthless harlot, throwing yourself at Jake like that; but he will never want a blemish like you”

I sucked in a breath, feeling the searing insult from her. “You do not have to talk to me like that”, I said, my voice breaking with emotion

“I’m just telling you the truth. Jake will never want to be with someone like you. A weak and pathetic loser who tried to use a baby to trap him”

My eyes blazed with fury at her cruelty. “You do not know anything about me”, I said, feeling the anger rise inside of me

“Oh, but I do know sweety. I know that you are nothing but trouble and I will never let you an inch closer to Jake. He deserves someone better than you. He deserves someone like me who is befitting of his status”

I could feel a wave of nausea washing over me. The stress from Jake’s rejection and the insults from Gemi were overwhelming for me. I had to get away from this toxic environment.

“You’re wrong”, I tried to say, but my voice choked, and the tears that has been threatening to break free from eyes fell once again without inhibition. Gemi let out a barking laugh, and I knew that she enjoyed seeing me in distress.

“You’re nothing but a coward”, she said, “running away from everything like you always do. I bet you’re so glad that you’re pregnant, so you can use it as an excuse to leave”

I couldn’t take it anymore. I pushed past Gemi, feeling her sneer and stare on my back. The pain weighed heavily on me but I kept walking anyway. I just needed to talk to my best friend and I’m sure that I’ll be alright then.

Suddenly, I felt an excruciating pain in my heart; a feeling so painful that it made me drop to my knees. I knew that it could only mean one thing; Jake is already being intimate with someone else. I left Gemi a few moments ago so I knew that it couldn’t be her.

“Did you hate me so much that you couldn’t even wait after rejecting me to be with someone else?” I cried to myself.

I finally got to Ella’s apartment and knocked on her door. There was no response so I opened the door and let myself in.

“Ella” I called out. “I just had the worst day ever. My mate rejected me and the unborn child. He is also currently having intimate moments with someone-”

I cut my banter short when I heard moans coming from her bedroom. I suddenly realized that I could also perceive Jake’s scent around the house.

“No, please. It can’t be. She would never betray me in such a manner”

I tried to pipe my suspicions low and calm my racing heart down. I closed my eyes and turned the door handle.
