Chapter Twenty: Master

The next week whisked by so fast after my father was in hospital, I spent my mornings at the hospital with him as he gained more strength but also, sat through the withdrawals of alcohol. Due to him heavily drinking every single day, his body had become somewhat reliant on alcohol, even though it was killing him at the same time.

He would sit in his hospital bed and even though he can’t really speak, only mumble a few words which at time didn’t make that much sense, I knew he was begging for me to bring him some alcohol but that was something I definitely, was not going to do. Now that his jaw had been wired shut and he can only eat and drink liquid food, he isn’t able to go down to the bar and have a drink, his body can finally, get a break. But due to this, he had begun to shake uncomfortably and sweat buckets, all of the doctors and nurses telling me that was completely normal, no matter how awful it was to see him in that state.
