Our Fault

Cadel’s POV:

"Son of a bitch," I said, feeling frustrated. We were at the pack’s medical center entrance, and it was bad. Thirteen of our best healers had been killed in a really awful way.

"I've been saying it from the start," Carson declared. "I kept insisting we needed to take out Arnold, but everyone dismissed me as hot-tempered. 'Carson, you're too impulsive,' they said. 'Carson this! Carson that!' Now, see the consequences. And, by the way, our war strategy is completely messed up.”

No one interrupted Carson's rant; he had every right to. How did I miss this? Why did I spare Arnold?

"It's not your fault, Cadel," Anna reassured as if she sensed the storm brewing inside me.

"But it is," I countered.

"Anna, it's our fault," Cameroon chimed in. "However, dwelling on that won't help. Carson, since our battle strategy is compromised, let's devise a new one—a surprise to catch the Blackmoon pack off guard.”

“Like what?” Carson asked.
