Chapter 13 Returning Home on Day Three

His question made Hua Sheng anxious.

She immediately struck back. "Our mutual agreement will cease to take effect if you're not willing."

To her, she had already shown him enough respect by acceding to his request to come to his family home and address his parents as her own in-laws.

"Why is he kicking up a fuss about moving into my villa?

"Is he being sarcastic?

"Obviously, he knows that my family is not like before and is definitely less well-off than his. Why is he still purposely making a big deal about moving in with me?"

Hua Sheng was actually mistaken; all Jiang Liu wanted to do was tease her a little. He was a little intrigued by her.

He did not expect to go overboard and earn a rebuke from her.

He immediately apologized upon realizing that she had really become angry.

"I'm just joking... You really have a temper, you know that? Villa of Abundant Youth, right? I know where it is. Your family built it five years ago, right? If I recall, it's an oriental-style villa. I never expected that someone your age would appreciate style like that. All right, I'll brave it out and move in with you. I've spent enough time here anyway."

Jiang Liu did not have any objection to moving.

Since they were already married, it did not matter to him where they lived. His family and business were prospering, and they had no lack of houses to stay in anyway.

Since it was Hua Sheng's desire to stay at the villa, he would follow her there.

After their conversation ended somewhat unpleasantly, Hua Sheng stopped replying and got ready to go to sleep.

Just as she finished placing the mattress on the ground and was hugging her blanket over to lay it down, Jiang Liu immediately lay down on it.

"What are you...?"

"I like sleeping on the ground, it's really cooling," he replied before shutting his eyes.

Hua Sheng was speechless.

"Is this person a hooligan?

"Didn't he say he would sleep on the bed? Why is he snatching the mattress from me after I've laid it properly?"

Hua Sheng turned around angrily and climbed onto the bed. She pulled the blanket over her body, shut the lights, and remained silent.

It was the first time in her life that she was spending the night in the same room as a man. Luckily, Jiang Liu did not have any strange habits and both of them were extremely quiet. As such, it turned out into a pretty good night's sleep for both of them.

Early the next morning, Jiang Liu left for work and kept himself busy there for the entire day. On the other hand, Hua Sheng remained in the Jiang residence. It was a quiet day.

In the blink of an eye, it was already the third day of their marriage...

After having breakfast at the Jiang residence, the couple brought Peach along with them back to Hua Sheng's family home.

It was a custom in Northern China for newlyweds to return back to the bride's home on the third day of their marriage.

She had to bring her husband and some gifts back to her parents' home to thank them for taking care of her over all these years.

In reality, Hua Sheng did not really have many feelings for her family. The only thing that drew her back was Grandma Hua.

They sat in a gold Rolls-Royce as Jiang Liu's driver took them back to Hua family residence.

They brought expensive gifts along with them. Jiang Liu had prepared all of the presents.

Wild ginseng worth one million dollars, extremely splendid-looking caterpillar fungus, bird's nest from Indonesia, and even a huge bath flown in by air.

The Hua residence was bustling with activity. Hua Sheng's elder sisters had all gathered at the family home upon being informed that she was returning.

Jiang Liu saw the entire Hua family seated in the hall upon entering.

"Well, well... We were just talking about you two. You've arrived much earlier than expected."

It was Hua Sheng's eldest sister, Hua Feng, who spoke. She was the Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Hua Organization.

Old Master Hua had suffered a mild cerebral ischemic stroke three years ago. Ever since, he had taken up a less active role in the family business.

After that, his eldest and second daughter had taken over the company's reins.

"Big Sister." Jiang Liu greeted Hua Feng, the silver-tongued devil that he was.

Hua Feng laughed. "My baby sister really is fortunate in life. She was supposed to be married to Xie Dongyang, but things took a turn for the worse. Fortunately, everything turned out well. Both of you must have led good past lives."

There was a lot of hidden meaning behind her words.

Instead of making Hua Sheng happy, the hypocrisy of her words disgusted the young girl.

"Where's Granny?" she asked, sweeping her gaze indifferently across her family, a look of unbridled disgust on her face.
