Patient’s room, hospital.

Tang Mengyu slowly opened her eyes to find herself in the hospital, and she sat up suddenly from the bed.

The memories before she fainted rushed into her mind like waves. She took out the needle from her hand with her teeth gritted, stumbled to the ground, and ran outside.

She still had a lot to do. She couldn't die, so doubtlessly, she would never marry Lu Zhengnan!

After running out of the hospital, Tang Mengyu touched her pockets and realized that she was penniless. She didn't bring anything when she came out yesterday, even her cellphone was left at home.

Even she was all night out, presumably, only her adoptive father in that family would care about her more or less!

Standing on the busy road, Tang Mengyu hesitated for a while, and then she walked towards home with both arms around herself.

Though in the moment of pique, she could not leave home without anything, or she would not have the chance to turn the tables.

Her fever had not gone from getting wet, yet she finally dragged herself back to the Tang family after walking for more than an hour.

During this long walk, she had already figured out how to deal with the current situation.

She took a deep breath at the gate and raised her hand to ring the doorbell.

The door was soon opened. It was Auntie He, the hourly worker.

"Young Mistress, you are finally back. Master went out to find you and hasn't returned yet!" Auntie He pulled Tang Mengyu into the house at once.

Tang Mengyu smiled weakly at her, asking, "Auntie He, are you home alone?"

Auntie He was employed by Xue Zhupei after Tang Mengyu went to university. Before that, Tang Mengyu did all the housework in the family, and there was no need for a servant.

Tang Mengyu often helped Auntie He out when she was at home, so Auntie He liked her very much.

"Yes! Master went out to look for you, and Madam went shopping with the second Young Mistress." Looking at the pale lips and feverish crimson burning over her cheeks, Auntie He asked anxiously, "Where did you go last night, Young Mistress? You don't look very well."

She took a hot bath and changed her clothes. Looking at her haggard self in the mirror, she clenched her fists to cheer herself up, "Mengyu, you can't be defeated. You have to get used to all the ups and downs of life. You can't be immersed in sadness all the time! Come on!"

Tang Mengyu went downstairs with her bag and slipped out while Auntie He was busy in the kitchen.

In the coffee shop downstairs of the Lu’s Group.

Neatly dressed in a white suit, Lu Zhengqing walked in and saw the girl sitting in the corner. He smiled and came to sit down opposite her.

"I was about to reach out to you. I didn't expect that you called me first," Lu Zhengqing laughed.

He was Lu Zhengnan's cousin, currently the manager of the Administration Department of Lu's Group.
