Chapter 3 You Feel Good

The next morning, Mu Nuannuan woke up with a start. Her head was still leaning against the headboard.

The sky outside had lit up, yet Moo Tingxiao had not come back.

She felt a little at ease and weighed down at the same time. It was like having a knife hanging over her head and feeling unsure when it was going to come down.

After she washed up, a bodyguard came and led her to the dining hall, which adjoined the kitchen. The minute she stepped in, a tall figure of a man walked out of the kitchen with his breakfast in hand. Seeing that it was “Moo Jiachen”, she immediately turned around, wanting to leave. But the man called out to her, “Good morning, Mrs. Moo!” His voice was magnetic and pleasant with a heavy dose of flirtation.

A bodyguard nearby shrugged, wondering if the young master was roleplaying with his wife. However, Mu Nuannuan felt sick just from seeing him. What was this cousin doing staying in Moo Tingxiao’s house all day?

“Good morning.” She pushed her glasses up and managed some words, then turned to look at the bodyguard behind her. “Is the young master home?”

The bodyguard glanced at Moo Tingxiao, who did not display many expressions on his face and replied, “The young master isn’t feeling well. He is currently at the hospital.”

Since Mu Nuannuan was little, her mother had been suppressing and undermining her, preventing her from looking or doing better than her half brother and half sister. So, she made herself look like a dimwit to conceal her talents and true self. Of course, she knew the bodyguard was lying, but she still nodded and pretended to acknowledge him. “Can I visit him?”

“You can but not now,” the bodyguard said, lying again. It looked like Moo Tingxiao did not like her; he did not even want to see her.

Moo Tingxiao put the breakfast on the table. “Let’s eat.” His voice was devoid of emotion.

When Mu Nuannuan came down from her room, she had already noticed that there was no maid in the mansion. So, did Moo Tingxiao make breakfast himself?

“Are you afraid that I’ll drug you?” Moo Tingxiao leaned close to her, and his deep, mysterious eyes terrified her.

Mu Nuannuan stepped back involuntarily. “Thank you for breakfast, but I’m not hungry.” After she said that, she turned and left. While she passed through the main hall, she bumped into one of the bodyguards who had escorted her from her home the day before. “Could you send me downhill? I need to return to the Mu Family and take a few things.”

She had brought nothing along when she arrived yesterday. Therefore, she figured that she needed to go back home and at least get her clothes and other essentials. Also, she had noticed that the mansion was on a hillside; the nearest civilized world was too far to reach on foot.

The bodyguard did not immediately answer. Instead, his eyes glanced past her. Mu Nuannuan looked back over her shoulder and noticed that “Moo Jiachen” had come out of the dining hall.

Hands in his pockets, Moo Tingxiao sauntered over. “You want to go home, Mrs. Moo? You don’t have to bother other people. I can send you.” As his voice trailed off, he wrapped his hand around her shoulders.

“Thanks, but no thanks!” Disgusted, Mu Nuannuan pushed his hand away. She just could not get it; this man told her that she was ugly yesterday, so why did he keep bugging her?

“Mrs. Moo, let Mr. Moo… Mr. Moo’s cousin fetch you,” the bodyguard echoed.

In the end, “Moo Jiachen” sent her home just because he whispered in her ear, “Mrs. Moo, you feel good…” Afraid that this guy may do something outrageous to her, she had no choice but to hop into his car.

In the quiet car, Mu Nuannuan pulled the safety belt close to her and looked straight ahead, not glancing at “Moo Jiachen” for a moment. However, her reaction had instead aroused Moo Tingxiao’s interest in her.

His new wife was ugly for sure, but she was decent enough.

He just wanted to tease her a bit yesterday. Nonetheless, it was fun to see her reactions, so he wanted to keep things that way and drag the game on.
