I swear, I’ve never been this busy in my life. A week has only passed,
and I am already exhausted from all the patients I’ve had to deal with. At
least I’m not alone in this place. I made a new friend since I’ve been here. Her
Name was Cassie, and she’s a nurse here. She gives the patients their medicine at
the scheduled times, and when we are on break, we eat lunch together. She’s
taller than me, which is nothing new, since everybody in New Orleans seems
to be taller than me. She’s light skinned with thick black hair, and she’s
Petite.
I still talk to Erika when I see her at the bar. We conversate like old
times, but after that, I just head home to get ready for work the next day.
Today was another working day at the Bayou Asylum. I was in my office, as usual,
when Cassie busted in. She bent down and began to catch her breath, and I
just looked at her like she was crazy.
“ Um, are you okay?” I asked her, putting one of the files back into
my desk drawer.
“ Oh my gosh!” She gasped before standing up to face me. “ We
have a new patient coming today.”
“ That’s nothing new, Cassie. We’ve been getting patients for the
past week.”
“ Not like this. This one is coming for murder.”
I looked back at her and saw the smile on her face. I swear, her smile
Was the funniest thing ever. She had a gap in her mouth, and it was just so cute to
me.
“ He’s coming around at eleven, so let’s go! He’s on his way now!”
She ran over to me and grabbed me by the arm, yanking me out the
chair. I swear, I almost fell as soon as we made it to the entrance. I wasn’t
running as fast as she was running, so her pulling me along with her gave me
somewhat of a boost. Everybody was already there, waiting as well. I really
was curious about what the deal was with this person. Why was everybody so
fascinated with this mysterious person?Cassie and I stood as Dr. Martin came to the front as well.
“ Okay, so I’m pretty sure everybody in here knows the story about the
person we are supposed to be getting as a patient.” He assumed, even though
I was the only one who wasn’t informed about it.
“ I actually don’t know.” I said, softly. “ I just found out he was
coming not too long ago.”
“ Nobody told you?” Dr. Martin asked.
I shook my head. He sighed and shook his head before turning his
attention back to me.
“ There was an incident that happened a couple days
ago at a club called New Euphoria.”
“ Um, okay.” I said.
“ The guy that is coming here, murdered five college students.” He
said, and I could feel my body freeze up.
“ He removed the heart before he began feeding on them.” Nathan,
the pharmacist said as he walked over to me.
“ Okay, I heard enough.” I told him, scooting back.
“ Did you?” Nathan asked, but Dr. Martin got between us. “ Five
college students died because of this dude letting them into that club.”
“What club?” I asked.
“The one that people know where to stay away from.”
Nathan scared me. The way his eyes stared back at me like he was trying to look in my soul, terrified me. Dr. Martin stared at me before his eyes turned to Nathan.
“ That’s enough.” Dr. Martin said.
Nathan glared at me, and all I could do was roll my eyes. He was the
only person that didn’t like me. I didn’t even do anything to him, he just had
an attitude towards me. But, I don’t let that bother me because I have things
to do instead of worrying about how people feel about me. Norah, the
receptionist, walked over to the front entrance and poked her head out.
Then, she opened up the door, so everybody inside could see. There was a
police car parked right in front. One of the officers walked to the back seat
and retrieved the convict. They grabbed him from the back, and the whole
asylum was filled with little whispers.
The convict was covered with chains and a metal face mask. He was
really tall, so if he really wanted to, he could take every last one of us. As he
got to the front door, Dr. Martin approached them with paperwork and a
writing utensil.
“ Officer Ramirez and Kravis.” Dr. Martin said the two officers’
name while extending his hand to them. “ Welcome to my Asylum.”
“ Dr. Martin.” Ramirez extended his hand while the other one
walked in with the convict. “ Thanks for taking him in.”
“ No problem. I heard that he wasn’t accepted into the prison, so I
told them that they could just bring him here. We do have a room that is
suitable for him, if you would like to see.”
“ Of course.” Kravis said, pulling the convict with him. “ We want
him to be away from others.”
“ That’s how it is here.” Dr. Martin said, turning his attention to
Kravis. “ But before we go on, I need for you guys to sign over your release of
him to me.”
Dr. Martin handed Ramirez the paper, and the pen and Ramirez
grabbed it. He looked over the form carefully and then sighed it without
asking questions. Officer Kravis stopped in front of me with the convict close
to him. When the convict turned towards my way, his eyes and mines
connected immediately. He couldn’t speak because of the mask on his face,
but the way he looked at me, he knew who I was. I don’t think I would’ve
recognized him if I didn’t look directly into his eyes. It was the same golden
brown that I’ve seen before.
“ Dominic.” I whispered to myself, but he knew I had said his name
because he tilted his head at me.
I was going to say something else, but Officer Kravis pushed him
forward. He looked at me before guiding Dominic to follow Dr. Martin to
the room that was reserved for him. I watched them walk off and then turned
my attention to Cassie, who was staring at me with confusion.
“ Do you know that guy?” She asked me.
Knowing the rules of this place, I immediately shook my head
.
“ I never met him in my life.” ,” I told her. “ What about you?”
“ Well, I wish I knew him because he is cute.”
I chuckled and walked away from her. As soon as I got to my room, I
saw Dr. Martin with the officers right down the hall along with
Dominic. I was headed inside until I heard my name. I looked and saw Dr.
Martin motioned for me to come to him. Sighing, I headed over to him as
fast as I could, trying to see what he wants. I approached him, and he placed
his arm around my shoulder.
“ This is Dr. Moore.” Dr. Martin introduced me to the cops and
Dominic.
“ Moore?” Officer Ramirez asked. “ Eric Moore is your father?”
I cleared my throat and nodded my head.
“ Well, tell him he is truly missed at the New Orleans Police Department.” Officer Kravis said.
“ I will do that.” I told them.
“ Anyways, she is the psychologist here, and she works with the
patients. She will be working with him, as well.”
“ That’ll be interesting: a Moore and a Greyson being in the same
room.” Officer Kravis chuckled.
“ I don’t get what’s funny about that.” I said, and Officer Kravis
turned his attention over to me.
“ Your family and his family have been clashing for years.” Officer
Ramirez filled me in. “ So, you two working together could be a bad idea.”
“ I’m sorry, what his family and my family are going through has
nothing to do with me having any beef with him.”
“ That’s your choice, but you don’t know what’s going through his
mind.” Officer Kravis said. “ He could have anger built up from the beef
with your family.”
I nodded my head and looked at Dominic, who was looking at the
ground. He finally looked up at me, and I swear I felt butterflies in my stomach.
“ We’re just going to have to find out then.” I told them and walked
off towards my room.
I opened the door and walked in, slamming my door
right behind me. I swear, dealing with those cops were really frustrating,
especially that fucking Kravis dude. He was irritating and seeing that
Dominic was the one who was with him overnight, there was no telling if he
had gotten a good night's sleep.
I took a seat on the couch and covered my face up with both my hands.
This whole situation had me bothered. Not only is there a murderer in the
building, but the murderer turned out to be the guy who made me super
nervous inside. This led to the question that has been bothering me ever since
I seen saw Dominic in handcuff: Why are they accusing him of this murder?
Dominic didn’t look like the type of person to kill. Yeah, I know he’s the
same guy who threatened me back when I had my car trouble, and yes, he
looks like a complete badass with an attitude, but there was something
different about him.
“ Don’t worry about what he said.” Hearing Dr. Martin’s voice behind
me, caused me to jump off the couch.
“ Jeez!” I shrieked, placing my hand on my chest. “ You scared me.”
“ I’m sorry.”
I sat back down on the couch, and he sat across from me. “ I just came in
here to let you know not to worry about them.”
“ I’m not worried.” I told him, glancing back at him.
“ That’s good.”
“ However, I would like to know about this beef.”
“ I’m not really familiar with it. I just know it was going on for years.”
“ Well, I’ll find out sooner or later.”
He chuckled and got off the couch.
“ Then, it’s better if you find out from a different source.” He said and walked out of my room.
He just didn’t know that I was going to do just that. I want to know what’s going on between Dominic’s family and my family. I got off the couch and walked over to the desk
when my door to my room flew open. I turned and rolled my eyes when Cassie poked her head in.
“ Nobody’s here.” I said, taking a seat and turning my back to her.
“ That Officer Kravis has a mouth on him.” She said as she walked over
to me. “ I’m happy he’s gone.”
“ Yeah, well I’m trying to figure if what he said is true.”
Standing next to me, Cassie leaned on my desk and looked at me with
curiosity. I looked at my phone, trying to decide whether or not I should call
him. I need some answers because it seems he’s the talk of the town. The
most important thing for me to do is figure out this history between the two
families. I need to do something, or else it’s going to keep picking at me until
I do.
“ Are you ready for Tricia to come in?” She asked me, bringing up my
next patient, but I didn’t want to hear about my next patient now that this
was clouding my mind.
“ Hey, do you know where this incident happened at?” I asked. “ Like
What was the clubs name?”
Cassie sighed and nodded her head. “ At a club called New Euphoria.
Why are you asking?”
“ No reason. It’s just that I’m still thinking of what Nathan said when he
was being a complete asshole like usual.”
She laughed. “ What did you do to that childish ass man?”
“ Oh my gosh! I’m not even sure myself.”
She chuckled some more and headed towards the door. “ Is it okay if I send your next patient in?”
I nodded my head, and she gave me the thumbs up before exiting the
door.
I hated this room, and I hated everybody that was in this place, especially that fucking girl. Why did I come here? This was such a fucking insult to me. Now, I beat Kravis and Ramirez are fucking laughing at me since now a Moore is in control of me. Once they took the chains and the metal mask off my face, they shoved my ass into this small ass room with nothing, but a window and a bed.I swear I was losing my mind up in there. That room was big enough for a small child. I’m a grown ass man, and I’m tall, so this was bothering me. My shoulders were almost touching the wall if I stood next to the bed.Speaking of the bed, that shit looked very uncomfortable, and I swear back pain was going to hit me one day if I constantly laid on it. The door to my room opened up, and five people came in, one of them was Dr. Martin and a nurse, the others were security guards.“ We need to get you cleaned up, and we need to take your pictures along with y
Dominic was giving me problems. I thought because we somewhat knew each other, he would at least open up to me. However, I was completely wrong. He just sat across from me, staring at the window, watching the rain hit the glass hard. I looked at my phone and noticed we have been sitting in silence for about thirty minutes straight. I only had two hours with each patient, so he was just letting precious time go to complete waste. I sighed and closed my notebook.-“ Dominic,” I said his name.He didn’t respond, he just stared out the window. I got up from the chair and walked in between the window and his view. He rolled his eyes and turned his attention back to the table. I c
It was about 6pm when Dr. Martin came to my room with his damn bodyguards. They handcuffed me and guided me back to Dr. Moore’s office. I don’t know why she wanted to see me. I already gave her a hard time today by not talking. So, what more could she want? Dr. Martin opened the door, and the guards pulled me inside. Dr. Moore was standing there, looking over some papers when she looked up and seen me. The guards led me to the couch, and they forced me to sit down before they removed the handcuffs and headed out the room with Dr. Martin following them.“ How are you?” She asked me, and I just looked at her without saying a word. “ Dominic, I need you to talk to me.”“ For what?” I asked her, already starting to get irritated. “ I don’t have shit to say to you.”“ I’m trying to help you. Why are you so rude?”I licked my lips and turned away from her, looking towards the window. She took a seat across from me, and she continued to look
“ I heard you got a lot of visitors today,” I said as I sat across from Dominic.“ I guess.” He said nonchalantHe just stared at me, and I blushed before turning back to my notebook.“ What?” I asked him.“ You told them, didn’t you?” He asked, and I looked up at him with a smile forming on my face.“ Of course. Well, I only relayed the message to Erika, and she told them abo
I didn’t feel anything at all. She kissed me again and this time, I deepened it, but nothing happened. My heart didn’t increase or anything and that was weird to me. I thought she would be the one to get my heart pacing fast like Triniti did that one night. Damn it, speaking of Triniti. I looked around and saw her nowhere. I sighed and looked at Dr. Martin who was walking towards me and London. I pulled my arm from around her and got up. Dr. Martin leaned forward to where I would only hear what he had to say.“ That is prohibited here.” He whispered. “ I’ll let this go because you didn’t know, but don’t let it happen again.”I nodded my head and leaned forward. “ It will never happen again.” I said. “ It was a mistake that will never be made twice.”&
“You shouldn’t be in here.” This guy in a brown Armani suit, told me. “ This is between us. You can exit now.”“ I’m sorry, but when it comes to my patient being tortured in this backroom by people that I’m very suspicious about, it becomes my problem as well.” I told them.“ I know this girl.” James said, walking up to me. “ She popped up at our spot last week.”“ Hm.” The other guy said.“ I’m going to ask you to leave.” I told them and James just laughed.“ You can’t tell me to do anything.” James said, placing his face close to mines.“ Hold on, James.” The guy said, then looked over at me. “ I think we’re done here. We’ll come back if we need to.”James huffed at me and turned around. He walked over to Dominic once more and grabbed him by the ear.“ Remember his words.” He hissed at Dominic before pushing him down and walking over to the guy. I moved out the way and they walked past me. James looked me up
“I don’t even know what to do Aunt Nancy.” I told my aunt as we spent the last ten minutes together on the bench. “I never killed anybody and even if I did access my wolf, I wouldn’t even know when to do it.”“ Just like your mama.” She said, popping on the top of my head. “ Always thinking you don’t have what it takes to do something.”Everybody’s visitors had left already, but Dr. Martin said I could continue my visit with my aunt until 6:30pm at night. I looked at the clock and it was already 6:10pm. I stretched and turned back to my aunt.“ It has to be done on the full moon, right?” I asked her.“ Actually, your day is different. Your wolf would access on a blood moon. I noticed that every full moon, your wolf wouldn
Everything I was feeling at that moment had disappeared once he told me that. Immediately, my mind went to Mr.Calligan. James was an arrogant asshole, but Mr. Calligan was something else. Dad said he was someone that I shouldn’ttake lightly. Walking back to my room, I was trying to figure out ways to deal with that guy. I didn’t like what he did to Dominic and I damn sure wasn’t going to leave this situation alone.I wasn’t going to be able to do anything about it tonight, though. The steamy, amazing sex that I just had with Dominic drained the energy out of me. Still, before I could think about resting, I made sure the doorsoutside were locked and the patients were fast asleep in their beds. I even checked on Dominic and saw he was fast asleep on his bed. I turned around and headed back to my office. Once in, I laid down on the couch and dozed off.*“ Mo
