Chapter 10

"Yes Amber, I'm with your parents right at this moment," Marcus said on the next line.

He called me just a few minutes after I arrived here at school. It was literally hard for me to wake up without someone shouting in my room when it's getting late. No one would remind me to eat first before going to school and chitchat me nonsense stuff until we both get tired talking. I miss him already. No Marcus for a day is dreary and hard for me.

"When will you come back? I miss you already. No Marcus with me eating breakfast, lunch or dinner is such an empty lonely day," I pouted.

"Oh, how sweet of you Amber. Maybe no more than a week, I'll be back."

"That's great! I will wait for your comeback then. Please send my regards also to my parents," I said with a half smile.

Heading my way in the cafeteria, I saw Blake together with the self-entitled Queen bee and her two nuts supporters, Autumn and Claire. Blake was busy tapping his phone while Celestine was wrapping her arms on Blake's body. They actually suit each other, the tree and the Tarsier. I hope they will at least end this day without bothering me. I continued my steps towards the cafeteria not until he raised his view. My smile suddenly faded away as his blue eyes met mine. Another hint of trouble.

"I will," Marcus answered before ending the call.

My reflexes seem to know what to do. I immediately turned my back to take the opposite direction. It is better to avoid rather than seeing the four of them in my sight. They don't have nothing to do with me anymore other than pestering my busy yet peaceful life here on campus.

I jolted when someone poked my side. Before I could turn my gaze, his familiar baritone voice welcomed me.

"Good morning, Ms. President!" he greeted.

All my senses seemed heated up. My nerves were slowly familiarizing the feeling to release every time I saw him. I stopped walking in the hall for a while and closed my eyes. Heaving a deep sigh and a wish that I was just imagining things out, I opened my eyes once again. I need to relax my mood before I could slap him straight on his face.

"Are you done meditating?" he asked with crossed arms. I rolled my eyes, preparing my hand on landing to his well defined face.

"Relax, you're turning red, President. Why won't you take some time to hang out with me?" he once again said with a playful smile.

I smirked and slapped him as hard as I could. I can't contain his rudeness anymore. Before he could remind me about his warning, I raised my brow and placed my hands on my hips.

"Try to kiss me Mr. Hernandez and I will sue you for harassment," I threatened him. He was stunned for a moment before clearing his throat. I secretly cheered when he didn't answer back.

A smile of success was plastered on my face when I walked away. Now, I am proud to say that I have learned something from watching romance movies. I haven't thought that I could use cliché scenes and lines in my own life. I shook my head in disbelief while reminiscing about his face and my line earlier. That got me one point.

I hummed a song called Lucky by Britney Spears as I happily stepped my foot on the ground. I am heading my way in the library to study for my handouts. No Jordan and Lily with me at this moment because they have their classes.

Few meters away in the room I was about to enter, I saw Celestine giving me sharp stares. I shrugged my shoulders and acted as if I haven't seen nor noticed her. Her two supporters fanned her using their hands as their Queen was turning red, probably wanting to explode in piss.

I fished my phone in my bag while entering the library. I forgot to leave Marcus a message about our Masquerade Party. Typing over my iphone 11 on the screen, I was bumped on a hard thing. As much as I wanted to believe that it was just an accident, after I saw Blake's shining stud on the ear and his feeling surprised look. I bet that was intentional.

I looked at him head to toe before arching my eyebrows. Before I could open my mouth, he preceded me.

"Hey, are you following me?" he asked.

I crossed my arms over my chest. This guy is over confident. "Excuse me? For all I know, the library is open for everyone. I am here to study my lessons," I paused for a moment.

A smirk escaped on my mouth when an idea flashed on my mind. This might blow him up. I widened my eyes and covered my mouth trying to act extremely surprised. "Are you stalking me? Oh my gosh! Someone is stalking me!" I screeched.

I thought that was a success but he just shrugged his shoulders off and walked towards Thunder's direction. "You must be the one stalking me," he said. I rolled my eyes and turned my back. Good thing, the librarian is not around. I must have a warning from her if ever she heard me screaming inside a library.

I remained silent for the whole morning. Trying to avoid Blake and everyone except for Jordan and Lily. But the two were busy, I was all alone for the whole time until afternoon came and we had to continue the decorations.

I lazily plopped myself on a chair near the entrance door while witnessing the busy people doing their own tasks. I yawn a lot of times in my position, still waiting for the time to tick at six o'clock. No basketball players for today is better, no disturbance.

"Guys, let's just continue tomorrow," I announced. Everyone immediately responded on my call. They packed their things up and cleaned the mess around. I carried the chair I was sitting and placed it on the arranged group of chairs.

"Goodbye, Amber!" they hollered. I waved my hand in dismissal and waited until the last person would come out in the Gymnasium.

"Amber, I will not be around for two days starting tomorrow because we have an emergency trip to Europe. Is it okay?" Steph sheepishly asked while fixing her blond curly hair.

We exited the area together on this dark gloomy day. I see no wrong about her excuse since she was working too much on this project already.

"Sure thing. Have a safe trip," I answered. She smiled at me awkwardly before giving me a hug.

"Thank you, Amber. Because of that, I owe you a present when I come back."

I laughed when she released the hug. "That would be great! I would expect something on your return," I joked. She shrugged and gave me a wink.

We parted our ways in the parking lot since she parked her car farther than mine. I fished my car key in my bag and placed myself on the driver's seat. Before I started the engine, I remembered that I forgot something in my office which is a few meters away here.

The book that I have borrowed in the library earlier was left inside the office. I am afraid to return there alone because it's already dark but I can't leave the book because my assignment was there. A few minutes of self-debate before I decided to go back.

I made a face palm when I reached the office. I really had the best decision on heading back here because the door isn't locked yet. I hurriedly walked inside and searched for the book.

"Hey, aren't you gonna go home yet?" I raised my eyebrow when I saw Blake again peeking on the door. He was wearing his navy blue tee shirt and his annoying smile.

I chose to sit on the chair for a while because there's a big possibility of walking in the hall with him if I go out now. "The hell do you care?" I answered.

He wiped the stray drop of sweat on his forehead using the Jersey shirt hung on his shoulders. "It's getting dark, President. I can take you home."

I stood up and smiled at him. "Thanks but no thanks," I replied, pulling the doorknob to close the door. I heaved a sigh before throwing myself down on the chair.

After a minute, I heard nothing but footsteps and loud murmurs of the basketball team talking about sexy girls and their play. No wonder, Blake is one of them.

When the surrounding was finally set into silence, I grabbed my book and took my steps on the door.

My fright started to grow when I couldn't pull the door open at first attempt. I tried to twist the doorknob and pull it again but I failed. I put my book down, took a deep breath to relax myself from trembling in fear and tried to open the door once again by using my hands with all my strength. I buried my fingers in my hair and made a face palm when I still couldn't manage to crack it open. The door is damn broken.

"What a new lucky day!" I sarcastically exclaimed to myself.

I was locked here all alone without any phone nor key with me because it was left in my car. If there's one person to blame here, it was the Blue-eyed monster, Blake. I frustratingly kicked the door and wiped the sudden flowing water on my eyes. How could I ask for help now?

I'm doomed here!

I'm pretty sure she'd be expelled for how many times she's assaulted the guy. She could be arrested for it. It's a double standard, if a guy were to slap her, then continue to slap her, he'd be arrested.
