It seems like only yesterday that everyone was wishing each other a happy new year, but now posters of happy Valentines can be found everywhere. I can’t believe January is almost over and February is already around the corner. It’s been three weeks since Ethan and I started seeing each other. A week has gone by, busy with preparation for exams. I am currently at Ethan’s place. We plan to spend the day together even though we see each other practically every day. I cried so much, I was scared my eyes were going to fall out. My heart was stabbed a thousand times that day. The next day came, and I tried to talk to Ethan but got cold shoulders from him. I did not give up; I plan to try my best to explain to him what really happened that day, no matter what it takes. I am waiting at the door of his lecture hall. I finished my classes earlier than him today, so I have enough time to spare. Ethan and I might be studying the same major, but we still have different minors, so all our classes are not together. The clock hits five, and his class is over. I wait eagerly and nervously to talk to him. "Ethan," I say, trying to stop him before he leaves like always. He does not answer and keeps walking. Time flies really fast and truly waits for no one. I can’t believe today was my graduation. I am finally done with university. I am so happy that words can’t even describe how I feel. My legs take their own accord and start walking towards the exit of the airport. Please, Allah, save Ethan; I pray that nothing terrible has happened to him. I find an empty cab with ease and give the address of the hospital to the driver that I could remember Grace saying over the phone before it slipped from my palms. It takes a good hour before we get to the hospital and all the way my hands have not stopped shaking. They have been trembling in fear of what state Ethan might be in. I quickly step out of the cab and walk towards the entrance of the hospital. I can’t believe three months have gone by since Ethan and I had that dinner. Ethan is not back, and I don’t have an idea when he might get back. I still don’t know where he is, but at least I talk to him every day, and I know he is doing fine. Working at the company has taught me a lot about the business industry. I also found out a lot about Ethan’s family. I found out that Patricia is Mr. Federico’s secretary. This is why she is the first woman he fell in love with after his divorce from Florence. She was there to comfort him after his divorce, which led to him falling in love with her. I also found out why I have never seen Florence’s husband. He died a few years ago while at service. He was a soldier. I am getting ready to go out for lunch with Khloe. I am so happy she is going to be in town for a few days. After we graduated, Khloe moved to New York. I walk out of my office and take the elevator to the parking lot to be on my way.

I wake up to unbearable pain in my right shoulder. I adjust my eyes to get a good look at my surrounding. All the walls around me are painted white. There is a little couch in the room next to the window. Beside me there is a table and a chair, it has someone sleeping on it. The person's head is resting on the side of my bed, so I can't see the person's face. I look at what I am wearing, and it's a hospital gown. I suddenly recall why my shoulder hurts awfully. Alhamdulilah, I survived the gunshot. The person sleeping beside me suddenly moves in their sleep, allowing me to finally get a glimpse of their face. I am not surprised Ethan is the one sleeping here. He looks very peaceful while sleeping. He is the most handsome man I have ever laid my eyes on. I really missed him this past three months he was gone. Alhamdulilah, I survived the gunshot. I can't believe what would have happened to Ethan if I had died. He would have felt guilty all his life, Alhamdulilah, that did not happen.
