Who cried wolf?

Demons had been arch enemies of the fae kind since the Victorian age. It wouldn't be surprising if they took Kristy.

Somehow, it all made sense. Kristy and I were attacked by a reanimated corpse inhabited by a demon. My mother was murdered that same night by the demon king.

"Are you still there?" Frank waved at me.

"I have to go." I rushed and took my phone to leave.

Frank held my hands, stopping me from leaving.

"Kristy if you need my help, I'm always here."

I thanked him not taking his words wholeheartedly and left.

I went back to Kristy's apartment. The feeling of emptiness hung like a cloud over my head.

I was trying to find a reasonable explanation for demons to enter an apartment without being recognized. Unless it was the demon king who could take the form of a human being. His horde had to possess a container without a soul. Sometimes of the soul had been sold off, they could take possession of a proper body but that wouldn't change the odd color their eyes would give.

It occurred to me I should ask Kristy's neighbor if they heard an odd sound but I had to be careful not to reveal too much. It put them and me at risk o being cleaned.

I was still buried in my thoughts when a lady walked up to me.

It was the lady I had bumped into earlier.

Redhead, thin like a broomstick figure and a petite face blessed with a pale skin tone.

"Hey."

My head began to picture how I would ask her questions.

"Kristy, You smell different. I suggest you stop using whatever antiperspirant you bought."

It was funny she said that. I didn't use anything special on my skin except for my cheap lotion. I saw it as an extravagance.

"I'm not Kristy," I revealed taking a small risk.

"Oh, so you're are a twin? Kristy never told me she had a twin sister."

Good. She had a relationship with Kristy.

"Did you know Kristy personally?"

"Of course. We've helped ourselves a lot."

That got my attention.

"In what way?"

The woman turned around in a swift manner,

"We can't say that here. We don't want the cleaners after us."

Faes always knew their kind and even if I wasn't the most blessed. I had to know who from who. It came more like a shock that the redhead knew what cleaners were.

Another fearful line popped into my head.

"Did Kristy reveal supernaturals to her?"

"What are you?" I asked as she directed me to her room where we were going for our talk.

"A vampire. Isn't it obvious?" She answered

I forgot the obvious. She had pale white skin and wore black overalls that even made her look thinner and she definitely hadn't had a good drink lately.

"My sister was friends with you?" I asked still unsure.

We had gotten to her apartment. Number 45 in the magnificent building. Even closed, the door had the stench of booze, blood, and air fresheners all mixed up to gone a more nose wrenching smell.

Vampires weren't the friendliest and mostly kept to themselves which is what I'd do if it was guaranteed I'd live forever.

Plus I didn't know what I was doing here. Faeblood was like cocaine to vampires and most would kill for just a sip.

I hadn't had my bottle of sun spray here and it eas like walking into a mousetrap but I believed my premonitions. There were no bad vibes here and I was pretty sure it wouldn't want to die too.

The door opened and I was caught by the gory sight of... I just put it straight. Vampires had gotten advanced and now loved in flocks. Even if they weren't hunted actively by other races except when provoked, They had hunters on their backs.

Except her flock was busy. The bloodletting and draining of human blood made me sick to the stomach. The victim wore a with the emblem of a dancing pizza.

They had ordered pizza and chosen him instead. I felt sorry for him but I dared not intrude.

"Sorry. My girls hadn't had a decent meal all week. The hunters were hot on our track so you know."

"Are you going to drain him?" My lips muttered, out of my control.

"Of course not. We'll keep though for a week."

"Have a seat." She offered.

I sat and the vamps all turned to me. I felt like a lamb about to be slaughtered by a pack of hyenas.

"So what's your name? Kristina? I'm Rose by the way."

"Valerie."

"I thought identical twins had similar names," Rose stated.

I wish I could explain to her that my father wanted me to be completely ostracized. So much that he didn't give me and Kristy the traditional twin names.

I didn't see much similarity in me and Kristy however.

We only shared a face and that was it

"You said you knew Kristy. I just wanted to know if she had friends, a boyfriend perhaps."

The girls sent weird glances at each other before Rose said,

"Why do you care big sis?"

The girls giggled. It was a small joke but it was getting on my nerves but knowing they what I wanted, I acted cool.

"No. It's nothing like that. It's just that Kristy is missing."

They instantly gave me the "Oh my God!" Look.

"What happened?"

"That's what I'm trying to find out and if you can give me anything. I'll be grateful."

Rose cracked a bit before saying,

"I know something."

The words brightened my mood and I gave a smile.

"So what Is it?"

Her sly smile informed me she had something else in store.

"We just need a little favour.-

A favor! Typical vampire.

"What favor?"

"Your blood."

The smartest move. Like I said before. Fae blood was like crack. It enhanced vampire abilities ten times better. It was why I was a target but at least they were asking for permission.

"Deal. One pint."

"No. Two."

What the... Did they want to drain me?

Kristy was so owing me.

"Ok. Now tell me what you know and it better be worth it!"

My empty words got to them better than I thought and they got talking.

"We weren't really close to your sister but a month ago. She came to ask for sanctuary. We wondered why but she wanted protection from someone who was after her."

What had Kristy gotten herself into?

"Did she say why she was being hunted? Who was after her?" I breathlessly spat.

"Hey calm down Princess. We'll get to that."

"She offered us her blood and you know, We couldn't refuse. A week after, we came face to face with the man stalking her. It was an intense battle but we won. He learned his lesson but you know Alphas."

"Alphas? I'm sorry did you just mention a werewolf?"

Werewolves like other supernatural kinda had beef with faes. It had been existing from the first generation. The moon goddess and the Queen of Unseelie who happened to be sisters.

"Yes. Apparently, Alpha McCoy wanted a relationship with her but she refused so he resorted to stalking her."

I was shaking at this Revelation. Kristy had a life I didn't even know about. I never knew she was this secretive.

An Alpha of a notorious pack known for Breaking the rules was stalking her for a month or more and she didn't deem it fit to tell me. Was I that pathetic?

"So this Alpha McCoy, Do you know when I can find him?"

"We have no idea but we've helped you. Now we want our pay."

I was given a glistening kitchen knife for the job.

OMG! This was going to hurt.

I put a call through to the court.

"Hello. I found another clue."

"I'm sorry Ms. Swanson but the court doesn't want to discuss your sister's case with you anymore."

Before I could complain, she cut it.

Bitch!, I screamed into the phone.

I had to everything myself, didn't I?

I sent a text to my father just in case I didn't return like Kristy.

I remembered Frank's words and I was grateful I remembered. I just hoped he would of help.
