Chapter 2

            Jason POV

I leave the clinic with Emma, heading to the house, deciding to walk to have time to think.

I walk a few steps ahead of Emma, trying to figure out how to explain all of this to Kimberly. How do I tell her that I'm having a baby with another female? A female that just tried to kill her not so long ago.

I frowned trying to wrap my head around that Emma is carrying my pup. I don't want this with her. I don't care for her. I don't want anything to do with Emma. She says I'm the only male she's been with, but I think she's lying. She has to be lying.

For the last past three months, everything has been perfect and now this has come crashing down on me.

It's too soon right now, but once the pup developed inside her womb, I'll be able to sense this connection with the pup she's carrying if it's really mine.

"I'm not staying here," Emma says, walking behind me. I ignore her, still trying to figure out how I supposed to tell Kimberly something like this. With each step, I get closer to the house. This feeling starts to set in my gut. That feeling you get as a kid when you've done wrong and now you're going home to deal with the wrath of your parents.

"Do you hear me!? I'm not staying here!" She says, raising her voice.

I let out a low growl, turning to face her. "Until I know for sure that the pup you're carrying is mine or not, you're not going anywhere. I'm going to say this one time and one time only. If you try to run, I will track you down and you'll be spending the rest of your time here in a cell." I glare down at her. She glares back at me, before lowering her eyes, unable to hold my gaze.

I turn and continue to walk, heading to the house with Emma behind me.

I walk up to the front door and hesitate for a second, before walking into the house.

Smelling the cooking food in the air and hearing the sound of Kimberly's voice as she sings along to the music, let me know that she in the kitchen preparing dinner for us.

"Wait here," I tell Emma, heading to the kitchen.

Walking through the kitchen door, I stand here at the door, watching Kimberly sing and dance along to the music, stirring something inside the pot.

She looks over at me and smiles, realizing I'm in the room. "Dinner will be ready in just a minute." She walks over and places a kiss on my lips, before making her way over to the refrigerator.

I let out a sigh as I walk over and stop her music. "I need to talk to you about something." There's really no easy way to tell her this, so I'm just going to tell her.

"About what?" She looks over at me with a raised brow, walking over to the sink with a tomato, washing it off before she grabs a knife, and begins to slice it.

"There's no easy way to say this, bu-" I frown as the kitchen door opens and Emma walks into the kitchen.

My attention goes back to Kimberly as a deep animalistic growl comes from her, glaring over at Emma who's growl back, flashing teeth.

Kim grips the knife in her hand the way I've shown her durn training, preparing herself to attack. But before Kimberly has a chance to, I move in front of her and take her wrist, removing the blade from her hand. I keep ahold of Kim's wrist to keep her from attacking Emma.

"I told you to wait in there." I glare back at Emma, who's standing at the door glaring at Kimberly. She looks away from Kim, glaring over at me before leaving the kitchen.

"Why is she here!" Kim glare over at me, pulling her wrist from my hand. I can feel her anger through the bond. I expected this for her, that's why I told Emma to wait in there to avoid what just happened. I wanted to at least explain everything to Kimberly first before she saw Emma.

I let out a sigh, placing the knife onto the countertop next to the tomato she was chopping up. "Can you take a seat?" I ask, wanting her to calm down a bit so we can talk.

"I don't want to take a seat! I want you to tell me why she's in our home Jason!" My name leaves her mouth through clenched teeth. Me trying to get her to seat and calm down have only seemed to have made her angrier. This aggression that she has developed over the passing months is definitely showing.

"She's pregnant and says it's mine." I just come out and say it, not wanting to piss her off more by continuing to stall.

"Pregnant." The word comes out lowly as I stand here in front of her. I can feel and see the hurt in her eyes. A deep frown slowly creeps onto her face as she takes in what I've just said.

"That time I have sex with her back at th-"

"I'm not stupid Jason!" She growls out, cutting me off.

I don't say anything as I wait for her to yell or even maybe hit me. She has every reason to be angry. When I explained everything to her about being my mate. About leading the pack with me as my Luna. About leaving her human world behind to be with me. None of that included me having a baby with another female, especially the female that tried to kill her a few months back.

"That still doesn't explain why she's here." She glares up at me.

I let out another sigh, mentally cursing myself for being a fuck up. I should've ignored Emma the way I did every other female. I thought maybe sleeping with Emma would help take my mind off Ashley, and now I have to deal with this.

"Her mate has brought her here. He wants nothing to do with her while she carries another males pup." He marked her before knowing she was pregnant. From the way he looked at her with disgust, I'm sure if he had known she was carrying another males pup beforehand, then he wouldn't have marked her. But it's too late, he has marked her now, bonding their souls forever, so he'll be back for her.

"Why did he bring her here? Just because she pregnant doesn't mean she has to be here." Her jaws clench, glaring over towards the kitchen door.

"I have to do the right thing as an honorable male and provide for her while she carries my pup." I know Kimberly is still learning our ways, so she may not totally understand yet, but having honor is important. Without honor you're nothing.

Having honor is one of the most important things amongst alphas. How can I lead a pack if I'm not trustworthy or if no one respects me? I can't lead a pack and except them to have honor and do the right thing when I have none myself.

"I don't want her here Jason." Her jaws clench as she continues to glare at me.

"I have to do this Kim. Once she has had the pup, her mate will be back to take her away." Emma's carrying my pup so it's my responsibility to provide for her.

I just need to get through these months without Emma and Kimberly killing each other. This is a ticking time bomb that could start a war between Emma's mate and I. Emma's mate may not hold the best feelings towards her right now, but If Kimberly manages to kill Emma, I'm sure he'll want answers and he won't like the answers he gets.

And if Emma manages to kill Kimberly, I'm going to kill Emma and then I'll have to kill her mate.

I just need to keep them from killing each other within the next few months.

"The baby will stay here with us." I watch her for a reaction after hearing that the pup will live here with us. The frown stays on her face with no other reaction towards what I've just said.

Humans may have different feelings towards caring for their partner offspring, but with wolves it's different.

If a female wolf has a pup before finding her mate, then once she finds her mate and the male still wants her, then there's a high chance that the pup won't be accepted by the male and the female is able to do nothing about it. If the male wants her, it's in his right to take what's his and leave the pup behind.

And Emma's mate made it clear that he will have nothing to do with the pup.

"How do you feel about the pup being here with us?" I ask, needing to know. I don't know how she feels about this, but either way, if this really is my pup I won't cast it to the side. I will love it the same as I will love the pups that Kimberly will give me one day.

"It's an innocent baby. I won't hold ill feelings towards an innocent child." The frown doesn't leave her face, but I can feel that her words are true.

"I'm sorry for bringing this onto you Kimberly." This isn't how things were supposed to be. I love Kimberly more than anything and I hate that I've brought problems to our home.

The frown doesn't leave her face as she looks at me. Not saying anything, she grabs the knife off the countertop and turns her back to me and start to finish slicing up the tomato.

I know she's angry and hurt. I don't want Emma here, but this is the way things have to be done. If there were another way to go about this, I would, but there isn't another way. As an honorable male, I have to take responsibility for my doings.

I stand here looking at her for a second longer, before leaving the kitchen.

I find Emma waiting at the front door where I told her to wait the first time, but she seems to have a problem with listening. Her not listening is what got us into this situation now. I'm sure just like all the females here, she was told not to have sex close to the time of their heat cycle, but it's clear that she didn't listen.

"I told you to wait here." I glare at her. No one told her to come into the kitchen.

"I need to use the damn bathroom." She says, glaring back at me.

I glare at her for a second longer, before heading up the stairs to show her where she'll be sleeping for the time she's here.

"I see that you still have your pet human still hanging around," Emma said, coming up the stairs behind me.

A deep growl vibrates my chest as I turn to face her. "Your disrespect will not be tolerated here. She's my mate and you will respect her in our home." My words come out through clenched teeth.

"You claimed that human as a mate?" Her face is covered in disgust. It's clear that Emma is one of those wolves who think humans are below her.

"While you're here, you will keep your opinions to yourself, unless you rather spend your time here inside a cell." I let dominance leak from me, forcing her to bare her neck to me in submission.

"Yes." She says lowly with a frown.

I turn and continue to head up the stairs, taking her to the room she will be using.

"I'll need my things." She says, walking into the room.

"Call and have them brought here to you," I say before walking away.

I let out a sigh, heading back down the stairs, knowing this isn't a problem that will just simply go away. I will have to deal with this. I will have to be prepared to be a father in a few months.
