Chapter Six

I turned the door knob to open the door, ready to budge in but hit my bonce on the door when it didn't open, permitting a yelp from me.

The displeased hit of my noggin on the door caused me to ignore the malfunctioning doorbell and bang on the already descending door in an indignant manner that I reckoned that it was going to fall completely from my exasperated banging.

"Caramel," I hollered due to impatience and the incense body ache I was experiencing which was not cognizant because I didn't even work today. That was why I was home as early as 5:30pm. Justin never let me go home that early.

I decided to take another bang but stopped mid air when the door suddenly slung open and an obviously sleepy Caramel was in view. She was in her pajamas and had dark circles under her eyes, she kept on yawning.

She turned around sluggishly without saying a word, stretching her arms apart with a yawn. I got inside, supporting the door from breaking off its flimsy screws, and looked around for no perceptible reason but for security. I always felt like I was being followed. Well, I actually was, with Justin stalking me.

I secured the door lock, hitting a particular section to make it stand partially erect and hung the key by a key hook on the wall that the door would rest on when it's fully opened.

Caramel went to our room and I reluctantly followed her. Justin didn't even come back and I didn't have a phone to call him.

Caramel plunged herself to the bed to lay prone, escaping an abrupt, low-pitched noise from her.

I chuckled at her reaction, slowly getting out of my shoes, carelessly left them on the wooden chair in the room, took my bag off my shoulder and also placed it on the chair, got out of my office clothes and every other thing I had on.

I left our room, forgetting to grab a towel, went into the bathroom, senselessly located beside the kitchen, separated by a wall that has a big hole and revealed the entire view of the broken and half-tiled bathroom wall and floor if you placed your eyes on or near the hole.

I tied my hair into a bun, got into the bathtub, ready for a nice bath but flinched when the door flung open. It was Caramel.

"Caramel," I howled like a five-year-old. "I thought I told you to not come into the bathroom when I'm inside it. You know how much I like my privacy." I said, securing my enormous boobs covered. I was never secure about my body. I felt like my body was a mess. I wasn't lucky to be created perfectly like other special people like 'Mitch the bitch'.

"Sorry." She said, dozing off every second and immediately raising her head up. "I just-" she yawned, stretching her arms apart before continuing, "I wanted to tell you that there is no water. We don't have water supply again." She said, slowly waking up.

"What?!" I grimaced, looked around and grabbed a towel I noticed on a hanger in the bathroom. It was obviously Cara's but I didn't care at the moment. Caramel lurched away from the doorstep.

I stormed out of the bathroom, ignoring the fact that I didn't shut the inferior bathroom door. I went to the room and noticed Caramel sitting on the bed, placed her elbows on her knees with a fremd smile playing on her lips. I couldn't read her expression because of the dim light from the candle.

I scuffed to the wardrobe, changed into a white, partially transparent robe, revealing most of my body parts.

I shambled to meet Caramel on the bed, running my fingers into my hair in a livid manner.

Caramel's stomach growled, causing me to divert my attention to her.

"I'm so hungry." She yawned, joined the sole of her feet together to get any form of dust from them and gently placed her legs on the bed.

"Caramel," I squealed, causing her to flinch. "I totally forgot. I brought food home." I strided to the chair to get my bag, scurried back to Caramel, bringing out the content of the bag that I had gotten from Justin's little fridge.

It was crystal clear that the sleep had completely left Caramel from the way she grinned, rubbing her palms together like she had achieved a lifetime goal.

I turned the bag upside down to empty its content to the bed. The melted ice cream spilled on the bed and an apple rolled over to the floor but we ignored it. Caramel rapidly chowed down the fruits which seemed to be the main thing that could provide satisfaction to her.

"Calm down girl." I laughed hard, placed a hand on my stomach, held her shoulder to support myself from plunging down the floor but she ignored me, eating hastily with both hands.

"This is so good." She said, shut her eyes, letting out a sigh of satisfaction. "I can't believe I would love apples this much despite how much I hate them. I guess everything tastes good when you're hungry." She said seriously, causing me to laugh harder.

"Thanks a lot girl." Caramel said gratefully after eating to her full satisfaction. She even licked the melted ice cream off the bed.

"You're welcome." I smiled proudly at the fact that I could be of help to my best human in the world.

"Now, back to business." She winked, "how did it go?" She raised an eyebrow, placed her hand on her waist, rested the elbow of the other hand on the bed with her face resting on her palm in a way that her side was on the bed and she could look at me, grinning from ear to ear.

"What?" I asked, completely glazed over. I was thinking about how Mitchell was feeling as herself being a bitch, how she called me a slut, resulting in a frown from me.

"What?!" She squinted her eyes in a quizzical expression, sat on the bed, still focusing her gaze on me. I could see her face with the help of her phone torch light that she turned on when the candle was exhausted. "I'm talking about you talking to Justin about your payment." She said slowly.

I formed my mouth into an 'oh' in a way that it would be evident that I didn't talk to him about it.

Caramel stood up, placed her hand on her waist, fanning her face with the other, mouth opened. "You're kidding me, right?" She said, clearly trying to be convinced.

I stood up, placed my hands on her shoulders, "it wasn't my fault." I said truthfully. "It was that Mitchell of a bitch that forced him to go with her." I creased my eyebrows when I remembered the scene. "You wouldn't believe she called me a-"

"Shut up,"  Caramel interrupted, wrathfully brushed my hands off her shoulders. "You're so stupid, you know?" She said like I was her naughty younger sister. It caused me to feel slightly angered but I brushed it off when I realised that it was Caramel.

"No, don't say that." I smiled, attempted to cup her face with my hands but she was quick to shove it off with a painful slap of my hands.

"I knew you were going to come back with this same result. You never do anything right?" She said in vexation, causing an electric spark in my head. "You're really dumb. I knew this was going to happen." She waved her hands around dramatically. "I knew you were going to come back with this shit of I'm so scared of him and don't want him to harm my parents or do anything stupid." She scoffed, demonstrating every word like a teenage girl complaining about her boyfriend.

"Caramel," I said lower than I expected.

"No, don't stop me from saying the truth." She was frowning deeply, creased every muscle of her face for the frown. "The truth is bitter. You're really foolish." She admitted abruptly.

"Caramel," I yelled in vexation. I was completely pissed off. My anger was dangling in the air and I knew I was going to say something I'd later regret.

"What?" She hollered even louder. "Just because I let you stay here with me doesn't mean I don't have my complaints, sorry to say." She pointed her index finger at me. "Just to do this one thing that'd help us and you don't want to do it." She said glumly.

"Caramel," I said coldly, clapping my hands. "Thanks a lot for revealing this truth to me." I laughed sarcastically. "And, for your information, I'm not telling Justin anything of a sort again. My parents are under treatment, that's fine. It's indeed enough for me." I said without thinking and immediately regretted it when I noticed tears drop down her face.

"Eve," she said gloomily. "I can't believe this. After all I've done for you?" She said, perceivably pained as she fell to sit on the bed, buried her face in her palms, sobbing incessantly. I sat down beside, reluctantly held her shoulder.

"Caramel, I'm really sorry." I let out a disappointed sigh. I was really stupid sometimes. "I'm sorry for being a coward, stupid and dopey moron. I can't believe I said that to you. I promise to talk to him first thing tomorrow at work when I see him." I smiled weakly.

She slowly raised her head to look at me. She called me into the embrace of her tight hug and I returned it. "I'm sorry too." She said, rested her cheek on my shoulder, wetting that part of my robe with tears. "I'm really sorry. I love you." She said softly.

"I love you too." I replied in an equally calm and soothe manner.

A loud bang on the door caused us to flinch away from the hug. We both looked towards the direction of the door since the view of the living room door could be seen from our bedroom opened door, and shot each other a do-you-know-who glance and simultaneously shook our head in a manner that said 'no'.

I took the lead of going to open the door and I heard her light footsteps behind me. I staggered to the door, took the key and slowly opened it.

I tardily slung the door open and to my total astonishment at the person at the door, I turned to Caramel and she seemed equally surprised. I diverted my gaze to him before dilatorily uttering his name, "Justin?"
