Chapter 8

Glaiza's POV

I can't believe I agreed to this date.

"You better wear something red" Rielle suggested 

I groaned "Stop talking" 

She chuckled "are you changing your mind?" She asked she showed a red cocktail dress

I shook my head "Nah, you are just annoying" I said as I get the dress from her hand

"You said I can annoy you sometimes" 

"Yeah, I said 'sometimes' but you are annoying me the whole day.

I'll get this"

She smirked "So you'll wear that?" 

I rolled my eyes on her "Do I have a choice?" 

She shook her head while grinning "Nope" she said popping the P

I went to the cashier and when I was about to pay for the dress, Rielle gave a bill to the cashier.

"I asked you a favor so I'll pay for the dress" She said 

I grabbed the paper bag and exited the boutique. Rielle followed me from behind.

"By the way, I want to thank you for taking care of me. I can walk properly now" She said still have the annoying grin

"You are not sincere" I answered

She groaned "I'm being sincere here!" 

"No, you are not" I said hiding my smile

"I saw that" She said as she walked beside me

"Shut up" I said still smiling

"So what time will you pick me up tomorrow?" Rielle asked 

I looked at her then back to the road "just text me when you are ready" 

"Okay. I'm excited for the game tomorrow. I'll surely kick their ass." She giggled

"Are you sure you can already play tomorrow?" 

She nodded "Yup! I'll show you some swag tomorrow" 

"Oh God! You are so annoying" I complained

She chuckled "Sorry"

"So, see you tomorrow?" Rielle asked 

I leaned against my car "yup." 

"If you don't want to pick me up tomorrow it's okay. I'll just drive my car" 

I looked at her coldly "Don't be such a stubborn kid. If I said I'll drive you to school then I'll drive you to school and that's final" 

She pursed her lips and nodded.

I don't know if it's just me or what but I heard some camera flashes. But it seems that Rielle heard it too, we looked around and we saw a man in a black motorcycle taking pictures of us.

When the man noticed that we were looking at him, he immediately drove away.

Okay, who the hell was that? 

"Geez! I should talk to dad later."

"Who is that?" I asked Rielle

"Dad's man."

Rielle's POV

"Why do you have to do that?" I hissed at my dad

"You think you can just do whatever you want? You still have my surname, that is why I'm making sure that you will not put this family into shame" 

"Wow! I can't believe I'm hearing those words from my own dad." I laughed bitterly then I hanged up

I sat on my sofa and massaged my temple "I'm so fuck up" I uttured and started to cry like a baby

I fetched my phone from my pocket and dialled Glaiza's number.

"What?" She greeted

"Can... can you come over?" I asked trying not so sound like crying

"Are you fucking crying?" She asked and I can tell that she worried in her voice

"Kinda" I faked a laughed

"Wait for me." She said then she hanged up

I sighed and went to my porch, I sat down on the stair and waited for Glaiza to come.

Glaiza's POV

"Where are you going?" Mom asked as she saw me wearing my combat boots

"To my friend's house" I said and kissed her cheek

"Be home before midnight. You have a big day tomorrow" She said and wave goodbye

These past few days, I've been hanging out with Rielle a lot and.. and it feels right being next to her, it feels right talking to her, it feels right touching her, it just feels great being with her. 

What is this feeling?

I drove to her house. 

I parked my car. I saw her sitting on the porch with a frown on her face.

I jogged towards her and sat next to her.

She looked at me and smiled "Thank you for coming" 

"What's the matter?" 

She leaned her head on my shoulder, I flinched a little "I talked to my dad about what happened, you know about the man who took a picture of us then he said that he will not just let me put THEIR family into shame." 

I didn't say anything and waited for her to continue.

"Since I was a child, I obeyed all what they were saying to me, like 'Rielle, you should go to a ballet class' 'take a piano lesson' and there is me 'Okay dad' 'Yes mom, I will'. How pathetic I am, right?" Then she let out frustrated sighs "Growing up, I know there is something different with me. I started to have girl crushes, I asked myself 'is this normal?' But then I just shrugged it off 'cause I'm too young for that. Then when I was freshman, that's the time that I realized that I'm... I'm gay. I thought they will accept me because I did all they want... then one night while we are eating, I told my family that I'm gay." 

"Then what happened?" 

*Flashback*

Rielle's POV

"Tell us that you are just kidding" Dad shook his head

"No dad. I'm serious" 

Grandpa stood up "Enough of this stunt Rielle!" Grandpa shouted

"Mom, please say something" I begged, tears started to build up underneath my eyes

"Just say that you are sorry" Mom said

Granny stood up "Rielle, darling" 

I stood up ran to her "Granny" I cried

"Shhh, Stop crying princess" She cooed while patting my head

"Emma! What are you doing?" Grandpa yelled

"Let her what she wants to be!" Granny yelled back

"All of you! Shut up!" Nadine shouted

Everyone shut their mouth.

"Rielle, just say that this is just a joke and we will forget about this" mom said

I shook my head "No" 

"Then get out of here! We don't have a sinner daughter! You are not part of this family anymore!" Dad yelled

"Dad, please don't do this. She's your daughter!" Nads yelled

Great! Now they are disowning me.

"Okay! I will! I don't need this fake family!" I yelled back and run upstairs

"Rhi... please don't do this" Nads begged 

I zipped my suitcase "Nads, you heard what dad said. They just disowned me for fuck sake!" 

I went out of my room only to be greeted by my granny.

I hugged her "Granny, what will happen to me now?" 

She pulled away "here, take this. This is the key to our old house, you can stay there." Granny gave me the keys and a check

"Thank you granny" 

"Take care of yourself, okay? And don't worry about school, I'll pay for it." 

Nads went behind me "Granny, please stop her" 

Granny tapped Nads shoulder "She'll be fine."

Granny, Nads and I went downstairs. 

"Rielle..." Mom reached for my hand

"Lily, go back here" Dad command

Mom sighed and kissed my forehead.

Nads helped me to carry my suitcases and place them in my car's compartment. 

"No, no. You'll not use that car" Dad said

"Excuse me dad, but I bought this car with my own money. So this is mine, not yours" and with that I drove away, far away from them.

*End of flashback*

"Your family.... they really disowned you just because you are gay? That's bullshit." I said

Rielle chuckled bitterly "it sucks, right?" 

I wrapped my arm around her shoulder and pulled her closer, I don't know why I am doing this but I just feel like I need to hold her "Well, I'm here now. I can be your family"
