"Common!" Shanice snarled from the threshold of the door, holding Liam's hand in hers.
"Oh gosh." I whispered, packing the remaining documents the surrogate agency had asked for.
"Yes mom, common!" Liam cried
with his tiny voice as well, causing me to chuckle. He was such a clown.
I rushed to arrange the documents into my bag, and hurried to them. "Oh Shanice, you're so troublesome. I told you I was coming." I ranted, grabbing my boy from her hold as we stepped out.
"Bye nanny!" Liam screamed to Maggie who was shutting the door as we trampled out of the house.
Shanice stopped a taxi driver immediately, and told him where we were heading for. Without wasting time, he asked us to enter the car. And soon, he was on the road.
I only hoped our appointment wasn't going to be cancelled. We were literally late already. We had twenty minutes to our appointed time, and we were to spend about fifteen minutes on the road. A traffic jam was something I hoped wasn't going to happen.
I sighed in nervousness, and smiled at Liam who was staring at me like he was observing something. He was just so weird at times.
The step I was going to take was dangerous, but danger was already dealing with me. So, there was no point in considering the consequences.

"This is the last requirement." The agent worker announced to me, grinning like he had won a lottery.
"Thank God!" I rejoiced silently, and breathed out in relief.
I couldn't believe that I was finally done with dropping one requirement or another. It felt like it wasn't going to ever end, even though it was only a week for everything we had done.
The agency had asked me to sign some documents, and told me that they'd inform me when a surrogate mother was requested.
"Alright ma'am," He stretched his hands to give me an envelope. "This contains all the information on what you'll do for the meantime. The things you need to feed on or not. And also, the medicine you'll need to take for a better implantation process."
I returned his smile. "Thank you very much sir. I'll ensure everything is set. Just make sure you inform me on when I'll get to do an implantation."
"Sure." He said, turning to Liam who seemed uninterested in what was going on around him. "And ensure to buy some treats for this adorable boy of yours."
I giggled, standing up from my seat, and carrying Liam into my arms. "Thank you sir. I hope to hear from you soon."
"Yes. And I'll be sure to inform you whether the couple wants a gestational or traditional implantation." He averred, standing to accompany us to the door.
"Thanks again." I added, as he helped to open the door.
"Bye! I'll miss you!" Liam shouted from my shoulder, as he waved to the doctor who was by his office doorstep.
"Bye dear." The doctor replied, and walked back to his office.
I spotted Shanice sitting by a chair in the hallway, looking so worried that she even started to tap her feet against the floor. I just loved her so much for her care. She was a really supportive friend. Smiling, I sauntered to her to share the good news.
As soon as her eyes caught mine, she jumped from her seat, and hurried to me even though I was only a few feets away from her.
"What did he say?" She asked impatiently, with widened eyes and pursed lips. "Tell me you're qualified for it. Tell me. Tell me please." She worried.
I sighed and pulled a sad face, trying to fool her that I didn't qualify for it. "Oh Shanice. Life doesn't work smoothly." I mentioned calmly.
"Awww." She soothed my cheek. "Don't worry about that. Disappointment is a normal thing. I'll help you to search for another job right away."
I was so touched by her statement that I almost cried. I really loved this girl so much!
"But…" I wrinkled my brows at her. "Why would you want to help with a new job when I have one already?"
She made a confused face, and hit her index finger gently against the side of her face. "I'm not sure I get you. You just told me that…"
"That what?" I raised a brow, and sneered.
"Oh. My. God." She gasped, gawking with so much exhilaration. "Did you qualify for it?! Oh my gosh! I'm so glad for you! Congratulations love!" She jubilated, gripping me into her arms, not even considering the fact that Liam was in my arm.
"Mommy!" Liam's tiny voice cried out. "Your friend is tightening me. She doesn't like me!"
"Oh my, oh my." Shanice pulled away, putting her hands over her mouth in realization that she was choking Liam. "I'm so sorry baby. Sorry." She cried, patting his back gently.
He smiled and moved forward to her, dropping a kiss on her cheek. "It's okay aunty. You're making my mom happy, so I'm happy too." He avowed.
"Awwww." Shanice and I squeaked, as we embraced him together.
"You're so adorable." She remarked, tweaking his cheek as he grinned happily, and tickling him gently.
We all laughed at it, and in no time, we stopped laughing and started to arrange all the stuff we had brought to the hospital.
"Let's go now." Shanice stated as she held our bag in her arms, and walked before me.
I smiled at Liam in my arms, and followed behind her.
Walking out of the place, I was so glad that I was qualified for it. I sincerely doubted my requirements because there was a lie behind it. But no matter what, I wasn't caught. And, I only had to keep lying for ten months to a year after all. It wasn't going to be Forever. And also, my lie was actually going to save my mom. So, there was no point in feeling guilty.

Trisha
Staring at the dumb surrogate the doctor introduced to us, I breathed out constantly, and wore the coldest and uninterested look I had ever worn. Sitting there only got me annoyed, because I had promised Xander that I was going to come over. I told him I wasn't going to let anything disturb us, but that was when the idiot doctor had to call.
Aside from the fact that I didn't want the child, I was also terribly annoyed that Jace was going to give her five hundred million dollars for carrying just one child. A child that wasn't the first one to be born on Earth. How could he do that? He also promised to give her extra, if she needed more. So foolish of him!
I rolled my eyes at the doctor's explanation on what we were to do, and turned to Jace who was focusing so much on him and smiling too.
Oh hell, getting married to this idiot was one of the greatest mistakes of my life.
Getting more annoyed, I turned to the surrogate again, and couldn't help but notice her completely.
Her tight jean trouser and cotton sweater caught my attention because of how her hips and boobs curved so much in it. The ponytail she had tied, looked marvellously neat although it wasn't professionally styled.
Noticing her face as well, her arched brows which seemed so unreal, and her straight nose, were the first thing that caught me. At the same time, the beauty in her gleaming brown eyes, and the bright pink color of her lips, couldn't let me get my eyes off her. I had to admit, she didn't look rich, she looked so middle class, but her look was absolutely fascinating!
The fact that I observed her beauty, increased my irritation. If I was a lady, and I found her that attractive, what about my husband? How would he feel towards her?
The thoughts of that, caused an abrupt increment in my boiling state. I couldn't even hear the doctor anymore. I was only getting more annoyed. My anger was killing my inner self.
Was the unknown lady going to disrupt my marriage? That could definitely not happen. And yeah, that was it. I wasn't going to allow it.
"Enough of your prattle!" I hollered, hitting my hands against the table as I stood up from my seat, and obviously startling everyone around me.
I ignored the gaze they were all shooting at me, and panted angrily like I had been keeping malice with them all. "Yes doctor." I made a clear statement. "I'm done with this. I don't need a surrogate. We are ending this, and that's final!" I added, turning to Jace who was already gaping at me.
I cared less about their actions. If my marriage was not safe, my money, my business, my Xander, everything, was all going to be gone. That was definitely unacceptable
JillI widened my eyes in shock, and suddenly began to cry within me. Why was she disagreeing? I thought they appreciated me.Honestly, as soon as I entered the doctor's office and my eye caught theirs, the wife of the big guys I wanted to do the surrogacy for, had been eyeing me crazily like she had known me a really long time ago. She stared like I had done something unacceptable to her in the past. Who the heck was she? Rich people, so disgusting! But at the point I was in my life, getting annoyed wasn't the best thing to do. I didn't even know the amount of money they were going to pay me. And staring at them, they seemed like they were going to give me some really great amount. And also, the doctor had said that it was their first child after three years of being married. I could imagine how determined they'd be. But with her actions, they weren't so determined after all.
"Jace!" She was finally able to cry, hurrying to her husband like a child who was about to weep for a chocolate. "Y-you see what this thing is doing? She's insulting me."I kept my simper, and badly tried to refrain from the itch to burst into laughter. She was actually crying like my Liam. That was a really weird thing from a grown up lady like her. I guessed it was one thing about rich people. They always pretended to be some strong guys, but they were truly fragile. Her husband, Jace, didn't say anything but stare at her, looking so concerned for some reason. I was surprised by that because I expected him to yell back at me. His actions were so shocking. I thought all affluent and cute guys were cold all the time. Wow.She screwed up her face at him and hit against his arm, which clearly made him jerk out of his thoughts. I wondered what he was thinking. The doctor turned to me,
Jace"What else do you want sir?" My secretary, Brittany, questioned again, arranging the jumbled files she had in her hands.I sighed, almost getting frustrated as she kept on asking that. "Nothing." I said. "I'm fine for now. I'll let you know if I need anything. Ok?""O--ok sir." She stuttered, and trampled out of my office.I shook my head in disgust of how clumsy she always was, and decided to ignore it. No matter how tired or frustrated I could ever be, I never wanted to vent it on anyone.I leaned the back of my head against my chair, and breathed out heavily again. I was just so tired of everything that was going on in my life. After the day we went to the hospital for an implantation, every other day had been so terrible for me. Trisha started off by refusing to talk to me and also disturbed every of the worke
I gulped in, my chest vibrating from my hard heart beats, and my fingers turning cold as a result of my shivering state. Couldn't I seriously be my normal self? It literally wasn't the first time I'd have doubt about a particular thing. Why was I even so nervous?"Hello Mr Ford." I was finally able to say something. "How are you doing sir?""Oh hi there." He greeted in his usual serious tone. "I'm doing very great. And you?""Oh me? I--I'm doing fine." I lied, stuttering like I was being threatened to not speak."Alright then."He was quiet for a while, and that somewhat annoyed me. I could sense that he was doing something else over the phone. Did he think I was in for such shit?"So why did you call me now? What's up?" I broke the silence, being so impatient. He still remained silent, exacerbating my confused and quaking sel
JillI froze like a Christmas tree and gawked as Jace rested his head on my shoulder. What was going on? Was this man crazy?"Thank you." He broke the weird silence between us. "Thank you so much."As he held my waist, and as there was barely an inch between us, my heart raced like I was about to be murdered. How could he seriously be hugging me? And also, why was he thanking me?"M-mr. Flores?" I gripped in fear. "Is there something wrong? W-why are you so close to me?"He flinched as he held me, and gasped like he realized something, opening his eyes widely like a drunk man who suddenly became sober."Miss Grayson." He called in almost a whisper. "I'm so sorry. I'm so so sorry."That was it. This man was a confused person, and was causing a confusion for me as well.I lifted a brow at him,
ShaniceWalking into Aiden's street in the late evening, I heaved out a sigh of tiredness.Life was a definition of "stress" to me. I had hardly had time for myself or even my family. All I did was to work from morning till night, or go on one errand or another. I hadn't even seen Aiden in a few days. I only hoped he wasn't going to be annoyed as usual. And most especially, I hoped he was at his place and not his dad's. He didn't give me any information on his location. In a really short while, I got to his apartment and halted at his door before knocking on it. I inhaled and checked myself really well. I didn't want my boyfriend to think he had a low class and dumb girlfriend when it came to dressing up.After a thorough check on myself, I pressed the doorbell and patiently waited for him to respond, tugging my bag against my arm in a little nervousness.
Jace"Hey Brittany, get all those files and take the rest of the day off." I announced to my secretary as I smiled hard, and stood up to get some books on my shelf. She remained in her posture, and acted like she was shocked by my statement. "S-sir. Are you sure of what you're saying?" Her tone was shaky.I twirled my neck to face her as she stood by my office door, and corked an eyebrow at her. "You heard me right? What else?"She gauged an anxious laughter. "Of course sir. I heard you. I mean, this is only two o'clock, and you want me to take the day off. You still have a lot of things to do."I chuckled at my young secretary and tucked my hands in my suit trouser pocket, walking to stand in front of her. I smiled at her unsteadiness as she stood, and lifted one of my hands to pat her shoulder."What's the problem? C
Jill's POV"Enjoy this ok?" I dropped a mini sized burger in front of Liam's small table and smiled as he licked his lips."This looks yummy mommy." He grinned like he just got a huge reward for doing something great. "Thank you."I bent to peck his cheek, "you're welcome," and made my way back to the kitchen to finish my cleanup. As I stepped into the kitchen, I felt a tingling pain by my lower abdomen. It felt like a menstrual pain, but a more critical one. And, I was so sure it couldn't be a monstral pain because I was pregnant. From my observation and thoughts, I could tell that it was as a result of the tiny thing I was carrying in my uterus. Sincerely, it was a complete inconvenience. Even though it was only a few weeks since I started to carry their child, it felt like a year already. How was I going to continue living like that till the
