"Good morning, Van. Have you wired the penny?" I arched my brow as I sat on my seat. Today is a Monday and this is one of the days I hate the most. Going to school and listen to the boring discussion of the old professors suck. I looked at the clock and wished for it to make the time faster.
"You are so clever, Farrah. No wonder you are the heiress of your company. You won't run out of money with that mindset!" I laughed and played with my long manicured nails. We stopped talking when the teacher for the first subject arrived and discussed.
"Farrah, lunch date? Let's skip classes." The second subject is about to start when Jester, one of my handsome suitors asked. I glanced at the clock and saw that it's already 9 am. I shifted my gaze to Vanessa who's now shaking her head. "Girl, don't look at me to ask for a suggestion when you won't even listen."
I rolled my eyes and lingered it back to Jester. "Sure, let's go." I picked my bag up and winked at Vannessa. She once again shakes her head in disbelief. "Get ready for a lost point Farrah!" She yelled before I closed the door of the air-conditioned classroom.
Jester held my hand and drag me to an empty room. He closed the door and leaned my back behind it. "Let's make out first, please." He said and crashed his lips on mine. I immediately wrapped my arms around his nape and responded to his kisses when I remembered Uno's sorrowful orbs flashed on my mind. My brows furrowed and pushed him away. I bit my lips and avoided Jester's gaze.
"What's wrong?" He held my waist and tried to kiss me again but I moved my face away, still thinking of Uno's sad voice.
"I'm not feeling well, let's just...eat some other time, I need to go home." I fixed my hair and my dress before I stormed out of the room.
Uno's face has been etched on my mind even when I climbed in my car. I put my head on the steering wheel and empathetically closed my eyes. I can hear him saying thank you in my head for stopping Jester. Come on, Farrah. You shouldn't care about his feelings!
I drove my way to our house and gave my bag to one of the maids. "Put this on my room, I'm just gonna eat," I said and strutted the way to our dining. I opened the fridge and picked a yogurt and closed it. I pulled a chair and stood on it to reach a bag of lays. I went upstairs and watched a movie while eating the foods I brought. I was in the middle of the second movie when I received a text message.
Uno:
I bought you snacks, where are you?
I rolled my eyes and ignored it. Minutes after that, the screen of my phone lit up for a new message.
Uno:
You are not in your room. Vanessa said you skipped classes. Why?
Vanessa isn't loyal, I feel so betrayed. Of all people, he chose to say those things to Uno? I scoffed. I stared at my screen for minutes before I typed a reply.
Farrah:
I'm sick.
That's what I replied because I know, he will not stop asking things until he gets a clear answer. I reached for the remote and turned the T.V off and pulled the blanket up. Instead of talking to Uno, I turned my phone off and closed my eyes until I doze off to sleep.
I opened my eyes when I felt my stomach ache. I'm hungry. I rubbed my eyes and reached for the alarm clock on my bedside table to see what time is it when I found something—it's no a clock! I picked it up and my lips parted when I saw a pair of black glasses. My eyes immediately traveled to the man beside me. Uno's head is placed on top of his arms and sleeping beside me! He's sitting on my vanity chair and his position looks painful.
I touched his head. "Uno, hey..." I moved my hand to his shoulder and shake it a bit. I heard him groan and as soon as he met my eyes, he stood up and turned his back. He fixed his hair and touched his face, maybe checking if it has a speck of dirt.
"Why are you here?" I said in my bedroom voice. I looked down on my clothes and remembered that I'm only wearing a spaghetti strap! I pulled the blanket up to my shoulders to cover my body. Not that I'm ashamed of it, I'm actually proud, but I don't want Uno to see this because he'll surely be embarrassed...why am I even thinking of his emotions, anyway?
"Y-you told me you are sick and...you're not answering my calls. I'm worried." He faced me but his eyes are glued on his shoes. I gaped at him, amused at his persistence.
"What time is it?" I glanced at the clock on my bedside table. My eyes widened when I saw that it's already 11 pm! I shifted my gaze to Uno. He's still wearing the same clothes from school and I bet, he went here straight from the university.
"What time did you go here?"
"Uh...it doesn't matter." He moved closer and touched my neck, I jerked on my position and stared at him weirdly. "S-sorry, I just want to check if you're fine."
"What time did you come in here? And who let you in?" I repeated. He avoided my gaze and put his attention on my hands. "Since 4 pm...I skipped my last class and went here...to check on you."
"Manang Tessa let me in."
I gaped at him. "Why didn't you wake me up? And I'm not sick. I made it an excuse." I shifted my eyes to my hand and saw that I'm still holding his glasses. I handed it to him and tilted my head.
"You should wake me up."
"But you are sleeping soundly, I don't want to be a...disturbance." The sourness in his voice is evident when I heard my tummy. His eyes immediately met mine and widened.
"Are you hungry?" I held my stomach and slightly nodded.
"Let's go down. I'm going to cook for you."
Chapter 4: Limited Edition"You really know how to cook?" I asked, still shocked by what he said. The heiress of the Saldivar group knows how to cook? That's impossible! Cooking is only for the poor!I sat on the high chair and stared at him who's now checking the food inside the fridge."What do you want to eat?" His deep voice has been emphasized by the silent kitchen. I rested my chin on my hand."I want a vegetable salad. I need to take care of my weight. I don't want to be a pig." I said and reach for my phone. I don't really know why I let Uno use our kitchen or why I allowed myself to be with him. I should be avoiding him because he's infuriatingly pers
Chapter 5: Jungle Juice"Daddy?" Bewilderness filled my voice as I glance at the tall, masculine man in front of me.He's wearing a white button-down long sleeve folded until his elbows, a black slacks, and a pair of expensive black shoes."What are you doing here?" I addedHe only looked at me with shock, his lips parted, and his eyes so round. I glance at the woman beside him and arch a brow."Who is this again?" I proudly said as I held my chin up. I gave her a head-to-toe scanning and rolled my eyes. She's tall, has a round big breasts and small waist. Of cou
All that I can say when I opened my eyes is that: What the fuck? My head hurts like hell and it makes me want to just cut it off my body and change it with another one!I touched my head and pulled my hair, hoping that it'll somehow ease the pain. I lazily pushed my feet to the edge of the bed and pulled myself up. I rubbed my eyes as my feet reached the soft, furry carpet of my room—What the?My eyes became wide open as my feet felt a rough thing. Why is this so rough? I looked down and saw an unfamiliar dark blue carpeted floor. My eyes wandered around the whole room. The combination of the dark blue and white walls welcomed me. The pieces of furniture are also a mixture of th
I unlocked my seatbelt and checked my face on the rearview mirror before going out of my sedan. I hung my small yet fashionable backpack on my shoulders and strutted my way to our building with my two inches block heels."Good morning bitch." I greeted Van and sat on my usual seat. She just arches a brow and stared at me.I put my bag behind my seat and placed my phone on top of my armchair."What did you do last Saturday?" She asks and leaned closer. I furrowed my brows and pointed my index finger to her forehead and pushed it away from my face.
"Boy...friend?" I tried so hard to compose myself and stifle my laughter but I ended up touching my stomach as I mockingly laugh at Uno."Are you serious?" I wiped the tears I got from laughing so hard away from my face. "Are you on drugs, Sir?"Uno Saldivar can both annoy and make me laugh like a madwoman. This is absurd! A nerdy boy who's been tailing me for two years assumes that he's finally my boyfriend!"That's hilarious...and horrible," I said, now back in my serious voice. "Why did you even go in there? Who told y
For some instances, I will thank this girl for agreeing with me but it's just another weird thing because...I don't know who she is.If only Vanessa or my group is the one who said that line, I'll clap and treat her a meal. I walked until I reached her table. She's with a group of geeks, some are familiar because I sometimes see them with Uno so maybe she's in her second year. The same year as Uno."Who are you?" I repeated, glancing at her with my sharp eyes."My name is Aliya...I just want to protect you—""Do I look lik
"Miss Evans, we won't tolerate this behavior. You will be suspended for a week, and you need to apologize to Ms. Martinez. I'm sorry but I'm really disappointed." The dean shakes his head while saying those things. My brows were still furrowed while looking at the old man. His bald head is shining under the fluorescent light of the air-conditioned room."Please forgive my daughter for this childish act, Dean. I will make sure she'll learn her lesson well." Dad uttered in his deep, baritone voice. I glanced at my father who's now looking at Aliya and her mother. Aliya is hugging her mother and hides her face on her chest. My upper lip moved as I glared at her. The fuck is wrong with this girl and she's still showing my Dad
"Farrah, you need to go home," Uno uttered in a gentle voice. I'm still holding his arms to support my weight for I know I will lose my balance the moment I remove it."I don't want to go home." I pouted my lips and caught his stare. "Why do you look so red?" I asked, he looks flustered and he refuses to look at me.I looked heavenward and put my index finger under my chin to search for the reason why he looks flushed. My eyes lit up and gave him a wide smile."Is it because of the kiss?"&nb
