Chapter VI

Eustone was heading home when he got thirsty and decided to go inside a convenience store. He took a bottle of drinking water and paid. When he was about to go, he smiled when he saw Sasha rushed in. He wanted to surprise her so he head out and waited at the park that she was going to pass by.

Moments later, he was getting impatient. It has been twenty minutes and she hasn't come yet. So he decided to go back. He was all grumpy walking and mumbling stuffs when he saw Sasha running. He immediately went to hug her and when she looked up and saw him, she cried. That wasn't what he was expecting that she would do.

"Hey, what's wrong?" Eustone asked as he cupped her face and wipe her tears.

"T-There was a guy! H-he w-was following me," she stammers.

He looked at where she came from and no one was there. "I'm here now, you're safe," he assured her.

It took awhile for Sasha to calm down. Even he was hesitating to offer her water since he was the first one to drink on it. He had to clear his throat to get her attention.

"Water," he said as he handed her the bottle. He decided he won't let her know until she drink some of it.

Sasha stared at it. It was already half so she figured he drank on it. She was still sobbing so she took it. It's not like their lips had touched.

Eustone smiled that she drank it. He was grinning thinking she had tasted his lips by now.

"What are you grinning at?" She asked, frowning at him.

"I happen to drink on that too."

"So?"

"So we kissed," he giggled.

"We didn't!" she yelled and stand up from a bench they're sitting on. "I'm going home." She was pretty sure that her mother would be so worried.

"I'll walk you home," Eustone stated.

Sasha looked at him for moments and slowly nodded. She didn't want to but then what if that guy was just in the corner waiting for her to be alone again. So, she let him.

"I told you I'd walk you home,"Eustone muttered suddenly.

"That usually never happen."

"But it did happen. So, whether you like it or not, I'm going to keep on bugging your ass to walk you home," he insisted.

Sasha just rolled her eyes and let him be. He's stubborn and there's nothing she can do about it unless she kick his balls again. But, she doesn't want to do that right now.

In the middle of their walk, Sasha breath in and sighed heavily. "How's y-your... y-you know?" She hesitate to ask him.

"Wow!" Eustone chuckled. "You have to guts to ask. It doesn't hurt now but it did hurt like hell for an hour when you did that. I felt sick!"

Sasha immediately looked away. "I warned you to let go but you didn't," she muttered.

"Yeah... I know it was my fault but you see, I didn't know it would hurt like that trying to befriend you."

What Eustone said made Sasha looked at him. He looked at her too and smiled. Again, she felt a sudden wind blowing and his face brightening. Ofcourse, it was all in her head but it happened and she stopped walking.

"You okay?" Eustone asked in a worried tone.

"No," she replied and shake her head side to side. "I just don't want it to happen again. I don't want to trust people. We all are liars trying to hide dirty schemes by lovely words and fake smiles. It's not nice."

What she said confused him so much.

"Well, I'm not lying to you. You're difficult but I like you."

Again, she heard words that seemed to be the start of something good, yet all good things would alway fall through time. It would only hurt if she believed in those lovely eyes.

"You know what mister new--"

"My name is Eustone!"

She rolled her eyes at him.

" You call me Braun!"

"But that's your name!"

"Ugh! You're so annoying!" She groans in frustration as she walks ahead of him fast.

Eustone just laughed at her getting all upset at him. She looks cuter when she's upset, he thought and followed.

"You know, I've never had this excitement in my life," he said all of a sudden when they were almost at her house.

"Do I look like I care?"

"I'm just saying. You're mean and rude but you make me smile."

It was honesty that he was saying yet she doesn't trust anything that comes out of his mouth just yet. She faced him when they were in front of her house.

"You don't make me smile. I hate you and you're just like everyone else to me," she fiercely told him. "Thanks for tonight."

He watched her enter her rusted gate and she was about to get inside her house, he had to tell her, "You can say every bad thing to me! I'll take them as a compliment!"

Sasha glanced back at him with a frown and then back in front. She slammed the door which made Eustone smile even wider. "I wonder when she's going to smile at me..." he murmured and finally turned away.

The next day at lunch Sasha was up at her spot on the rooftop again. She was eating peacefully when Eustone came with a tray to disturb her again.

"I hope you don't mind me eating lunch with you again," he smiled and sat beside her.

"Of course I mind. But knowing you, you're stubborn."

Eustone chuckled but when he looked closely at her face, his mouth went thin. "What the heck happened to your face again?"

"I put ointment on it already. It will heal up," she said as if the cut on her lip and the bruise on the side of her mouth was just nothing.

"The hell? You can't just keep having that!" He roared. The look on his face was something she hasn't seen in someone else's before. "I'm going to tell the principal about this!"

The moment she heard the word 'principal' she immediately clutch on to the bottom of his uniform that made him look at her. He didn't understand what that look on her face was. If it was fear or anger... maybe the look when you don't want a traumatic past to be brought up.

Eustone sighed and looked down. "You're useless. They need to stop hurting you..."

Silence occupied both of them for a while. They were staring at the far side of the rooftop and just letting the wind blew on their faces.

"Here," she muttered that made him look at her.  "Just a thank you for last night."

Eustone took the small bag and looked at what's inside.

"They don't taste good but I just wanted to give you something so I don't owe you anything..." she mumbled looking at the side.

He looked at her with adoration in his eyes. This girl is clueless with what she's unintentionally doing to me, he thought to himself. She's someone... I have to have.
