Chapter 9

"Hey there, Sasha," Lukas greeted Sasha with a smile.

"I'm glad you came!" Lyka stepped closer to her nephew. "I'm surprised that you know her."

"Oh, she goes to the same school I go to," he answered Lyka and looked at Sasha.

Sasha only looked down finally getting a hold of her shock. It was insane! She never knew Lyka and Lukas were related to each other until now.

"Then there's no need for me to introduce both of you to each other," she glances at both the teenagers. "Well, I'm going ahead now."

As Lukas and Sasha was alone she couldn't help but feel conscious with every move. She thinks that he was watching her every now and then.

"Hey, no need to be so nervous around me," Lukas told her when he noticed her slightly shaking as she gives their customer a change. "It's only me."

Yes, that's her problem. It was the Lukas that has been helping her whenever she gets laughed at in the cafeteria. The Lukas she was supposed to give a note but then put it on the wrong desk drawer!

"I'm sorry. I'm just not used to working with guys," she mumbled.

Lukas was in front of her restocking some candies and she couldn't even look at him. He lowly chuckled that made her look at him. Surprised he was smiling at her while leaning on the counter.

"I'm pretty sure that my aunt will get busy the next following days because of my cousin's wedding and if your workmate wont show up, I get to be here. So, you should get use to me, Sasha." The look he was giving her was intimidating.

Flustered, she cleared her throat and look to the side. "Okay," was the only word that came out of her mouth.

As the customers come and go, Lukas tried to communicate with her. They did some small talks every fifteen minutes and slowly she was speaking up. It pleased him.

When the store gone quiet, Lukas sat down. In front of him were different chocolates and so he took a rose chocolate. He brought it to the counter and told Sasha to scan the item. He paid for it and didn't take the chocolate.

"Uhm... should I put it away for now?" She cluelessly asked him.

Lukas grinned at her. "It's for you."

"Why?" She managed to ask.

"Should you really be asking that?" He chuckled. "Of course for you to have."

Sasha stared down embarrassed with his response. She stared at the chocolate for a moment. For me to have? she asked herself. But why would he think of me wanting to have it? Does he think I'd want one?

"Thanks for it," she thanked him as she put it aside.

Lukas was about to say you're welcome when the bell rang and a customer came in. In fact two customers came in. Lukas moved and when she saw who those were she frowned.

"What on earth are you doing in here?"

Her sudden raise of voice surprised Lukas. He didn't know Sasha could be that loud before. He looked back and saw the new guy, Eustone with a kid. Do they have a family? And then the thing that happened in the past flashed to Lukas.

"Hey there, Braun!" Grinning ear to ear, Eustone greeted. And when he noticed Lukas he paused. She works with this guy?

"What are you doing in here with Yuki?" It was a yell more than a question.

"Me and Yuki are hanging out. We decided we wanted some sweets and we came by. Am I disturbing something? We're customers, you can't be rude to me!"

Sasha threw Eustone a dirty look and then shift to her brother. "Yuki, why are you hanging out with Eustone?"

"Well, because mom said I can. And Eustone is a good guy," the kid simply answered.

Lukas was getting forgotten so he joined the conversation. "So, you're Sasha's little brother?" He asked Yuki.

Yuki nodded.

"Your brother is really cute. He's the same age as my sister," Lukas looked at her smiling.

Eustone didn't like what Lukas was doing.

"You work with her?" He asked Lukas.

"For today. My aunt asked me to and I didn't even know she works here," Lukas explained. "I didn't know you two were close."

"We're not close," she snapped.

Eustone's brow lift up and peered at her for a moment and then back to Lukas. He flashed him a fake smile. "Tell your aunt when she needs some hand, she can call me. I'll do it for free."

Lukas' expression hardened for a moment. "Do you like, Sasha?"

Yuki the whole time was shifting weight side to side, finding it interesting that two guys are fighting over his sister. It doesn't seem bad, just funny to him.

"Ye--"

Sasha couldn't help it and so she took a notebook and send it flying towards Eustone. Shock the three guys looked at her. The expression on her face shows it all. She was obviously upset with the three of them.

"If you want to buy some sweets just buy 'em and then leave!" she shouted. In her mind was, why the heck did Eustone chose to show up at this very day?

"Nah, we'll get ice scream instead," she heard Euston stated.

When she looked at Yuki, she saw sadness in her brother's eyes. But Yuki turned his back on her with Eustone and left the store. It made her inhale sharply. Now she damn feels guilty with the look on her brother's face.

"I didn't know that side of you," Lukas began when he saw the worried look on her face.

"Now you know," she muttered.

He strode towards the counter and gave her the notebook. "He'll understand if you tell him sorry." He didn't want her to worry a lot about what happened.

Sasha stared at Lukas and smiled.

"Thank you for always helping me at the cafeteria." Finally, she had thanked him. Now she won't feel that much indebted to him.

Surprisingly, Lukas chuckled that made her look his way. "Those were just little things everyone should be doing."

Thinking about it, not everyone would do that. If someone did, it's just either they're really a good person or if they're interested in that person they're helping.
