5.

After I showered I put on some clothes I found in a dresser. I wore a gray tank top and black jeans. They felt like my seconds skin.

I became bored.

I had absolutely nothing to do here. I couldn't go out of this room because the door is locked. There aren't any books to read or devices to use. I couldn't watch tv, 'cause there wasn't one. So, I had to entertain myself. So, I started cleaning.

After I was finished and everything was clean I sat on the couch. My stomach rumbled and I started craving food.

They usually leave some food in my room when I am asleep. But this morning there wasn't any. So, I just assumed they forgot or something like that.

I heard footsteps coming near my door and a lock being opened. The green-eyed man stepped inside and looked around the room,

Searching for something. His eyes landed on me and he held his gaze.

He started walking to me with steady steps. I became nervous, so, I sat up straight on the couch.

'Grace?' His voice sounded soft and secure. I answered him as I became more at ease by his soft voice.

'Y-yes?'

'Would you like some breakfast?'

I looked up into his eyes and softly nodded my head.

'Alright, come with me.'

He turned around and walked to the door. I stayed on the couch and waited till he noticed that I didn't follow him.

'Grace, come.' He said when he saw me sitting on the couch.

'A-are you going to h-hurt me?' I asked softly but loud enough so he could hear me.

He walked to me and kneeled in front of me.

'No, Grace, I'm not going to hurt you. I will never hurt you.' He said as he looked me in the eyes.

He stood up and offered me his hand. I put my shaking hand in his and softly held onto his hand. His hand was warm and soft. My hand fitted exactly in his like it was made for each other.

He pulled me off the couch and let go of my hand. We walked to the door and he silently opened it. I followed him through the house without asking questions.

When we were walking down a hallway I spotted a man. He was walking towards us and had a gun in his pants.

I whimpered and hid behind the green-eyed man. He stopped walking as I held onto his shirt from the back. He turned around to face me and look me in the eyes. His hands whipped away the tears that were on my cheeks and he took my hands in his.

'Grace, we're not going to hurt you. The man is just here to guard the house. He is not here to hurt me. You understand?'

I nodded as he let go of one of my hands and pulled me with him with the other.

He led me to a kitchen, there was a plate full of food on the counter.

'Sit on the chair, Grace.'

I sat on the chair and he placed the plate in front of me.

He took a chair in front of me and sat on it. I looked at him asking for permission to eat the bacon and eggs.

He smiled and said, 'Go eat, Grace. You don't have to ask for permission.'

I ate my food as if I was starved for a year. I grabbed the glass of water and wanted to take a big swig of it, but I stopped. I didn't want a replica from the last time I drank my water like that. So, I took small sips and let the cold water ran down my throat.

2 minutes later I was finished with eating all of it. My belly felt round again and the hunger was gone.

I looked up at the green-eyed man and blushed.

Fuck, he saw me eating like a fucking cow. He is probably thinking I'm a gross girl who doesn't have manners.

'Jesus, were you hungry?' He looked kind off shocked to be honest.

'Yeah...'

'Alright. Uhm.. you want to watch some tv?' He asked me as he looked me in the eyes with a questioning look. I nodded and he led me to the living room.

I sat on the large brown couch as be turned on the tv. He sat on the other side of the couch and we silently watched a movie.

The movie was about a boy who could fly. I think it's called 'Peter Pan', but I don't know for sure.

When I was little I would watch a movie with my mom sometimes. But not that often 'cause she had to work the whole day. Sometimes it would be too late to watch a whole movie. But after she died, I never saw a movie again.

The green-eyed man turned his head to me and started speaking.

'Grace? Do you want to know why you're here?' I nodded softly and he continued speaking.

'You know your sister and father had some debts. And your father wanted to give you to us as payment. But we didn't accept 'cause we don't do that kind of things. But your father got angry and said he would come for revenge. So, I went to your house and heard you screaming and saw your sister in the kitchen. She came to me with a knife, tried to stab me. But I shot her first. Then I ran from the house as I heard your father coming down the stairs.'

Tears were in the corner of my eyes, but I pushed them away.

He continued with the story but I already knew what was happening next.

'After that night, me and the other man found you in the dark alley and brought you here.'

He looked me in the eyes with an emotion I never saw before. I think it was hope.

'But you have to understand that you can't leave the house, only when I'm with you, we can go somewhere. But don't leave alone. Now you are one of us and our enemies are yours now too.'

'I understand it's a lot to take in but we're all a family in this house.'

I was astonished, to say the least.

I thought he was going to kill me or just throw me out. But he did exactly the opposite.

I was actually kind off relieved I could stay here. I mean, it's good here. I get enough food from them and they gave me a room. I hope I could keep the room.

'Grace?'

'Yes.'

'Do you want to know anything?'

I turned my head and looked into his bright green eyes. They had a small amount of brown in them and all different kinds of green. He had a soft look in his eyes. Not the hard and filled with hatred look my father always gave me.

I had a question. I really wanted to know it. It was an important detail to the story. So, I just asked it hard enough so he could hear me.

'What is your name?'
