Chapter 2: The Cafe

Isabella Rodriguez’s POV

I was looking around the cafe as we took out seats before Tim, he said that he preferred I called him that, was going to place our orders. Since it was his idea, I will only wait for what he was going to order for us.

I was smiling around when I was looking and taking in the interior of the cafe. It was nice and I think I was happy that Tim was showing me this side of the town.

“So, I hope you don’t mind we have something unorthodox for tea time,” Tim said as he was holding the tray. I can see that he had ordered espressos and some cakes for us. I smiled at him when he was taking his seat.

“No, I don’t mind. It was nice that this will be the first time that I will ever have tea time,” I said as I was smiling at him. Tim smiled and I blushed because he was being attractive right now.

“So, why don’t we get to know each other then?” I asked before Tim was sipping on the espresso before he put the cup down.

“Okay, fire away,”

“Do you have any girlfriend?” I asked him as I was using my power to make him tell me the truth. I have the power of persuasion, thanks to me being Blue Blood.

“No, if I was, I would not come here and share this tea time with you,” he said as he was looking at me. His green eyes were shining as if he was pleased that he was going out with me on a date right now.

Even though he has to go to work after this.

“If I was to ask you to marry me, will you consider it?”

“It depends on why would you want me to marry you. I don’t even know you that much.” He replied before I smiled.

“But you do want to marry me?”

“Of course, who would not? They would be a fool to push someone that was ravishing and stunning as yourself who wanted to be their wife. Wait why am I saying all this?” He said as he was looking at me before I tapped down my power as I was sipping on the espresso. It was good.

“So, would you consider it?”

“About what?” He asked me as I was looking at him. I smiled before he was blinking at me.

“Marrying me,”

“So, you’re not joking just now?” He asked as I was shaking my head. He was rubbing his dry mouth before he scoffed at me.

“I thought it was just for a joke or something,” Tim said before I put down my cup and I was looking at him. His eyes were staring at me before I was taking a deep breath.

“Hear me out and you will tell me if you wanted to marry me or not. I know that I wanted to get married as soon as possible but if you are unwilling to be my husband then, I don’t want to force you,” I said before Tim was silent. I think he did not like it.

“Okay, I will listen to you. Let’s hear your reason then,” he said as I was smiling at him. I was playing with the edge of the cup before I sighed.

“I am a Baroness from Andalusia, Spain. I came here because I wanted to get away from the paparazzi and I thought that I will find a husband so that my inheritance will not go to someone that I despised my whole life,” I said before Tim was sipping on his espresso.

“May I know who was it?”

“It’s my uncle. He has been wanting to get his hand on my inheritance that my father left me when he died. But I will not let him get it and I will fight him until the last breath of me, which will be a very long time,” I said as I was looking at Tim. He was silent.

“How old are you?”

“21, why?” I said before Tim was getting up from the seat and he was looking at me. Some of the patrons of the cafe were curious before Tim took his seat back and exhaled a deep breath.

“That’s too early to get married, don’t you think?”

“From where I am, it was common for my family to marry at 18. Well, mostly for girls but I think it will be a different story if I was a man. But I am not and here I was, asking you to marry me,” I said as I was looking at the espresso. I know that this was a far fetched but I have to try.

“Why would you want me to be your husband?” He asked me as I was turning to look at him. Tim was waiting for me to answer as I was smiling at him.

“Well, you’re the kind of guy that would not let anyone be in a disaster like I am, for one,” I said as I was smiling at him. He was furrowing his eyebrows.

“How do you know? I might be a serial killer,” he retorted before I chuckled.

“No, you’re not. I will know if you’re a serial killer or not,”

“Maybe I was just good at hiding my true identity,” he said as he was trying to persuade me to back off. But I know I was winning this the first time I was asking him to come and have a meeting with me.

“But you are not so, that’s that. Why don’t we have a walk around the park? It will help you clear your mind. I know it was a lot to take in,” I said as I was getting out of my seat and I was offering my hand to Tim.

He turned to look at me and the time slowed down. I was looking into his eyes that were shining like the forest that I would love to run around and forget about this. But I have to refrain before I can come forward my biggest, darkest secret to my husband to be.

If Tim will have me.

“Okay, I think I will take up on that walk then,” he said as he was slipping his hand into mine and there was electricity that was running through our touches that made me looked at him. He did not feel the electric?

Maybe it was just my feeling.

I was pulling him toward the door before I was smiling at him as we were walking around the locals and tourists of the town. It was nice before I was taking a deep breath and all I can smell was Tim’s cologne.

It was a cheap one but it was complimenting his signature scent and natural allure just fine. I think I might want to feel his blood on my mouth one of these days.

God, I should have refrained from thinking that. Because if I wanted this marriage to work, I have to make sure that Timothy will never found out about my secret of being a Blue Blood.

Ever.
