Chapter 2: The Rescue

Alexander MacWatters’ POV

I gritted my teeth as I looked at my plan. I don’t know if my parents knew about this but one thing for sure, I will not follow it. I had enough of all the people around me to boss me around.

“come on, Alex. It’s not that bad. She was not that bad, I’ve seen it,” my friend, Brad was talking lightly as I was sighing in my seat. The other two were nowhere to be found. I supposed they don’t want to deal with this right now.

“look, just think it like this. If the girl was willing enough to marry you for god knows what the reason is, you still get laid and she was sated. It’s a win-win situation,” Brad said as he took another sip of his brandy. I sighed as I took a sip of my beer. I needed something strong. heck, I need to get drunk to forget what my parents had suggested.

“why you always be so positive?” I asked brad as he was chuckling at me before taking another sip.

“well, I was supposed to be the reasonable one, Cam has to be the aggressive one and Dylan was supposed to be daydreaming one. And you, my friend has to be the one that just follows with the following, if you get my joke,” he said as he was smiling at me before winking. I grunted as I don’t have any better comeback. Nothing to say but he was right and I hated when I admitted brad was right.

“well, I supposed your parents had told you to find a girl yet?” I asked him as I took a chug at my beer. He chuckled at me before sipping his brandy.

“well, I told my parents that if the first-born of the noble family was not married, do not pressure it on me,” he said as he looked at me, chuckling with amusement.

“well, I appreciated it that you took me as your example and escape plan,” I mumbled at him before slamming my beer mug and paid the bill. I had enough to think I need to get out of here and think. And I know just the place.

“Alright, I see you later then, mate,” I said as I was about to leave him alone. I know how much he loved to be alone in a bar that was full of beautiful women everywhere. For me, I was not interested.

“Woah, where do you think you’re going?” Brad stopped me as I was trying to get to the exit door. I sighed.

“I need to think. I talk to you later, bye,” I said as I pushed him to the side and went out of the door. I don’t think I can have another breath inside that crowded pub. yes, it was the most famous one in New York City but I have to get away, away from all of this shit.

I went to my car as I walked down a few blocks from the bar and I unlocked the car. I went inside the car and turned on the ignition. I was waiting for my engine to be ready for my speeding afterward. I sighed. All I could see was water right now. I need to go for a swim. After a few minutes, I sped off from the road and went to the one place that I called home.

“good evening, Mr. MacWatters, working late tonight?” The guard was asking me as I showed him my badge. I laughed at him.

“something like that,” more than you ever know, I held it from escaping my mouth.

“well, have a good one I supposed,” the guard said as he raised the gate and let me in. I waved at him before I drove my black sleek Tesla to the faculty parking. I haven’t done much but I think my researches on Water bondage and chemistry has made me somewhat a popular professor on this campus. And of course, my drop, dead gorgeous body.

I went to park my car and got out of it. I locked before I went to my office as I have the key to the building. I went to get some of my swimming trunks and get inside the car again.

I ignited it before I drove off to the recreation center of the campus. I was excited at the thought that I will be swimming for the rest of the night. And do something that people did not think it existed anymore.

water magic.

yes, I have been keeping a secret. Not that my other best friends did not know, we just have different magic. My surname was MacWatters, of course, it would be Water. I could not roll my eyes at the thought of my great-grandparents took that family name just for the oblivious reason.

I reached the center and got out of my car before I went inside. My senses have been tingling whenever I felt close to the water. It’s like they can’t wait to be command by me. I went into the changing room and changed into my swimming trunk.

I was putting all my stuff inside the locker except for a towel before I closed it. I went to the indoor swimming pool. It has been one of my sanctuaries after I got the job as a Chemistry professor here. I smiled as I was walking down the hallway.

when I entered the pool, there was someone already beat me to it. I gritted my teeth as I saw a figure was swimming in the pool. I was about to get out of there before I saw her figure from behind.

Her porcelain complexion was contrasted with her long black hair. It stuck to her body as she was rubbing her face. She was looking outside the building. She was closing her eyes as she was floating at the center of the pool.

something stirred in me as I was about to leave before she moved again. She was trying to move around the pool. Dancing, perhaps? I stood outside the room to get a closer look at her without announcing my presence to her.

she was graceful and she wore a smile that I can see she was enjoying it. instantly, I smiled as well. I don’t know what took over my face but I smiled as she was dancing around the pool. I can see that she was pretending to be on the stage full of spectators that were looking at her graceful dancing.

suddenly, she disappeared. I was looking around the pool area. I don’t see her. Was it all my imagination? Before I knew what was happening, she was holding her hands high up in the sky and she was flapping for air. Panic struck me and before I knew it, I dropped my towel and went inside to save her.

“help! help! help!” She shouted as she was going up and down in the water. I don’t think that she would be drowning given the fact that she swan is 10 feet deep pool.

I dived in to pull her up as she was struggling against my arms. I hold to her and commanded the water to pull us both up. They were happily obliged before I went swimming to the edge of the pool. She was unconscious as I pulled her up.

I went to check her pulse as she could be dead for all I know. Her pulse was weak and without hesitation, I went to give her CPR that I know since I took my CPR lesson when I was undergraduate, a very long time ago. But I still remember it.

“come on, come on, wake up,” I whispered to her as I went to put some air into her mouth as I pushed her chest to make her heartbeat. I checked her pulse. It was weakening. I looked around the room to see if there was someone inside.

“here goes nothing,” I said as I went to put my hand over her mouth as I wanted to command the water inside her body.

“come out of the body if you are foreign to the system of this woman,” I said as I was trying to feel the chlorine water. At last, the water came out of her mouth and I threw it across the room. It splashed on the floor. The woman coughed as she looked at me.

“what the?” Was the last thing she said as she was unconscious again. I sighed before I checked her pulse and it was beating normally. I sat on the floor and looked at the woman. She was nice alright, with all the right curves at the right place. Blood rushed to another part of my anatomy but I think that would be bad since I was the one that rescues her now.

“down boy,” I said as I took her up into my arms and get out of the room since I just cannot leave her alone here after hours.

I do not care what people might think but she would be freezing out here. It was almost summer but it still freezing to the bone if you stay outside and after having some swimming.

I went to the change room as I tried to find some clothing that might be right for her in the LOST and FOUND box. I took out a robe that people left and wrapped around her. I went to the locker room to get to change I can’t swim tonight. I need to get medical attention for this woman. And I hope I was doing the right thing.
