The Angel squad began their presentation, the spectators watched with utmost interest. It was a beautiful performance till they got to a point and the two girls halted, staring back at each other with questionable looks."What is wrong?" Schools were on holidays, the incessant party was all over, Mirabella and Lekky were waiting patiently for the results of the young talents competition.Being at home was no fun, constant visits from Lekky always made their day but still their mother's absence was a major concern to them. The two weeks break was over, School resumed back for the third term of the section.The school compound was filled with Students again, friendly gestures from one another after about two weeks of being away.After the morning assembly, the students marched hurriedly into their various classes, the ecstasy of returning back to school was on their faces and began with the cleaning of their desks and classrooms. "How old are you?" The doctor asked, she collected the card from Michal and checked out Mirabella's details. "Ten." She muttered and looked at Mirabella. "I need some blood samples from you to carry out the test." She told her."No problem ma." Mirabella said."I need a guardian here to make the payments and all." The doctor told them."I brought some money along with me." Michal told the doctor and this is our family hospital. Nurse Kiki knows us so well." Michal explained."Ooh, well let's begin then." She smiled at them and told Mirabella to lie on the bed, she did and the doctor checked her pulse she pierced an injection into her skin, and collected some blood samples for test purpose. "Go wait at the reception." She told them.After some minutes the doctor called them back into her office and told them to come back later for the tests result. A week had come and gone and still nothing has been heard from the doctor, Catherine had gone back to meet her and she explained to her that they had to wait till the result is out.Different thoughts built their walls on Michal's mind, she tried and tried not to think of terrible things but her mind wouldn't let her. She made sure she made Mirabella smile every time and anytime she brought up the test topic, she'd quickly cover it up with an entirely different one.She was avoiding it but sooner or later, it would reveal itself."Mirabella, are you sure you're okay?" Lekky asked as they strolled towards the cafeteria."I'm weak." She winced. Things have been different since Mirabella was diagnosed with Leukaemia, there was no one to rile Michal anymore. She missed Mirabella, she missed the cheerful and playful Mirabella, she missed her troubles and everything and her one prayer everyday was for Mirabella to get well soon.Four weeks since school resumed and she had missed so much, she couldn't go back to school leaving her sister alone in the hospital.
