CHAPTER TWO

"15 minutes break guys,” Travis shouted and clapped his hands, the wolves followed and shifted back to their human form, exhausted from the training. He’s harsher than Gabriel when it comes to training bunch of werewolves. The training consist of sparring with each other in human form and in wolf form. He also trains them to constantly shift and wield a weapon while Gabriel mainly briefs them about what to do in an actual combat.

“Here, catch!” Gabriel said and throw a bottled water which Travis quickly caught with his hand. “How are they?” he asked and sat beside him.

“They can manage to beat few rogues,” Travis replied and chuckled. The new warriors are mostly teenagers so they still have long way to go. Gabriel got up, it’s his time now. Travis transferred under the tree to take shelter from the scorching heat of the sun. He closed his eyes.

“Honey,” Alice sweetly said. Travis smiled when he saw her face. He’s such a lucky bastard even seeing her in his dreams. “Honey,” she whispered once again. Travis’ smile widen, he thanked the Moon Goddess for giving him the best gift, his mate, his damn lovely mate.

“Honey!” she shouted, her hands are on her hips while frowning at him. He suddenly got up and lost his balance causing him to carelessly fall on the ground. He heard her angelic voice laughing at him. He glared at her but it’s not enough to make her stop.

“Honey, you face is funny!” she laughed once again but instead of getting angry at her, he smiled because of her naughtiness. He walked towards her and put his arms around her waist to pull her close. He inhaled her vanilla scent and buried his head on her neck. Alice giggled.

“You are so naughty, honey,” he said and kissed the crook of her neck.

“Can’t help it. I’m sorry, honey,” she softly said and apologized.

“What are you doing here by the way? I thought you were with Candice and the twins?” Travis asked her. She leaned her head on his chest while her hand is on his waist.

“The twins got tired and fell asleep while playing. So, I decided to go here to see you,” she said, her smile widen. “How was the training?” she asked. Travis put his hand on her shoulder and together, they walked back to the training area.

“They’re fine, I think?” he said unsure. He might have made them suffer because of the training but to him, he just thought that it’ll greatly benefit them in the future if they train now.

“I don’t want you to go,” Alice said. Her hold in Travis’ waist tightened. Travis sighed and kissed the top of her head.

“I need to. I want to help those women,” he said. Alice knew this. Travis has a heart of gold. She wanted to kill those rogues too but she’s worrying for his safety. She couldn’t help but think, what if something bad will happen to him? “I will take care of myself, I promise. I will be back to you, unscathed,” he added.

“Pinky promise?” she knows she sounded like a child just now but she can’t help it. She wants assurance that she will back safe amidst going to a dangerous mission. She showed her pinky finger which Travis gladly took and sealed the promise.

The day has finally come. Pack with his clothes and weapon. He glanced at his sleeping mate and bid her good bye without waking her up. Travis left the house and went to his car. He drove to Blake’s house where he found the warriors already waiting outside. They’re bringing seven elite warriors to Linux pack.

Blake went out of his house followed by Candice. He walked towards them and greeted them. “I’m leaving Alice in your care, Luna,” he said and bowed his head. Candice nodded her head.

“Let’s go.” Blake commanded. Four cars lined up and formed a convoy. Silently, they drove to Linux pack.

Alice woke up and rushed to the bathroom. She threw up the meal she didn’t remember eating last night. She quickly cleaned the mess she made on the bathroom and went out. She felt sick to the bones. This the first time it happened and she doesn’t know what’s the cause of it.

“I should go to Paulo’s clinic and get a checkup.” Alice said to herself while clutching her stomach. She stared at the empty bed and slumped on the ground. “Please, keep him safe,” she prayed.

While eating her bread she accidentally hit the glass that was on the table and it fell to the floor. The glass broke, creating a loud sound. Fear crept in her. She quickly put her slippers on and ran to Candice’s house. She furiously knocked and when Candice opened the door, she hurriedly went inside.

“Sis, can you contact them?” she asked while pacing back and forth. “What happened to you?” Candice asked.

“I don’t know. I’m eating in our house when I accidentally hit the glass and it broke. It’s a bad omen right?” she asked while panicking. Candice held her hand and led her to the couch to sit while trying to calm her down.

“Don’t believe in those superstitions, Sis. We have to trust our mates. They’re definitely going back safe and sound,” Candice reassured her. She took a deep breath and calm herself. What her friend said is right. She have to believe on the promise Travis’ made to her.

Blake and his warriors finally arrived in Linux pack. Melvin Brooks welcomed them. Travis looked at him, it’s like the man had age twice his current age. He looked stressed and you can see bags under his eyes. He hated this man because of his arrogance but seeing him like this, he pitied him.

“Blake,” Melvin spoke lowly. Beside him, stood his mate, Jene Brooks. “I brought my elite warriors with me. Let’s talk our plan inside,” Blake said. Melvin nodded his head and led his visitors inside the pack house.

“Our intel gave us this,” Blake said and took out his map. “They’re around here,” he added and pointed a landmark. The tahuja cave that is 300 miles away from Linux pack. Melvin clenched his fist. Travis heard ten of his pack members were kidnapped.

“We attack at the dawn. I need your men and we will leave tonight,” Blake said without hesitation. Time is their enemy. They need to act fast if they wanted to rescue those women. Melvin nodded his head. Although he hates Blue Moon pack, he’s glad that Blake Reese helped him. “Gab, explain the other details to Melvin and his warriors,” he ordered. Gabriel nodded his head.

Blake went to Travis’ side, arms-crossed while watching his third-in-command explaining the plan to Melvin and his warriors. Travis’ remained silent, he’s readying himself of what’s gonna happen at dawn.
