Millie took a last look around her pretty bedroom; she had begun packing as soon as they got back to the house. She zipped her case up and heaved it off the bed. Breathing deeply, she calmed the lump in her throat. The last thing she wanted to do was leave, and maybe if tonight had happened differently then perhaps she would stay, but Pearl had made that impossible.

When she went to find Lucy in the ladies toilet, the teen had asked some very pertinent questions. Lucy was drying her eyes when Millie found her.

"Hey Lucy," Millie put her arm around her, "that was the kindest and most lovely thing anyone has ever said for me."

"Oh he's furious, but not with you, he could never be angry with you?"
