Thirty three: A while.

"Ensure to not miss lunch, ok?" Claire stated the same thing for the one hundredth time. Irritated, I rolled my eyes. 

"I won't, woman." I walked past her, grabbed my bag from the counter, stepping out of the kitchen. 

About to walk out of the house, she called my name. More irritated, I rolled my eyes again, then spun around to look at her. 

"What?" I gave her a knowing look. 

She smiled warmly, walked to me. "Sorry to disturb you. But, um…" she bit her lower lip. "I want to know if you'll be able to work with that, you know, your ex-husband."

I smiled back. "Thanks, hun. But don't worry, I'll be fine. Nothing's gonna happen, ok? If he tries to do anything crazy, I'll call for help."

"Good." Her smile curled into a grin. "I hope to see you in the evening. I'll be hanging out with Dave for the meantime."

"Hmm."
