Genevieve had awoken to an empty bed, as expected, bathed in a cold sweat. It was a sobering factor most unpleasant as she shook away all lingering thoughts of her dream and threw the sheets away from herself.
It was an effort to air out the bed she was afraid she had dampened with the perspiration of a continued thought—a stain in her mind, too stubborn to wash away. Impulsively, the girl reached for her phone.
