CHAPTER TWELVE
The ride to Jordan's home was quiet.
Jojo stared out of the window, wondering why she'd given in to the bizzare idea of staying with him even if it was only for tonight
Maybe because she had Riley to consider.
Carl Stratton had dropped her off at the hospital because his family and himself were going out of town for a few days and there had been no where else to take her.
Or it could be because Jordan had pulled that sexy, commanding voice on her.
Riley's small body snuggled into hers and her hands instinctively wrapped around it.
Apart from responding to Riley's enthusiastic greeting back at the hospital and coercing her to give in to his deal, Jordan haven't said a thing and Jojo worried that he already regretted offering in the first place.
He was opening his home to his mere PA, and the added baggage of her family, of course he regretted it already.

Jojo felt a little lost after their visit to the doctor's office but Jordan was there, right beside her and taking good charge.The doctor's words sat like lead on her mind, heavy and very hard to digest.They picked Riley up from the kiddies waiting station that looked more like a mini toy war zone, before they went to see her mom.Her eyes had filled up again at the sight of the new white patch of her mom's right hand, covered in white.Seeing it made her feel like a failure.She'd failed to protect her family.Jordan was unmoving from beside her and his dominating presence filled the small room.Even in the small hospital room, he only had to stand and he'd exude the level of power other men fought to achieve.Stray and very distracting thought, Jo, don't you think? . The week went by so fast.The days turned into nights and one day morphed into the next.They were all the same for Jojo .And her routine remained the same through it.Now that her mom was awake more often, she's resigned to cooping herself up in the room with her from dusk to dawn.That little moment where her mom had cried and looked at her like she knew her was long gone now, only but a distant memory.If there was a chance she could have hat again, she wanted to be here when it happens.But Meghan had slipped back totally to her old self, leaving no sliver of hope for the daughter that was patiently waiting for her recovery.Sometimes, Jojo wondered if she hadn't read those tears wrong in the heat of her flying emotions.Maybe her mother had only cried because of the excruciating pain she was having to endure.

As promised, Meghan was released from the hospital the next day on the account that she's improved greatly and was doing well now.She was informed that they should be back in a week for check up and at the slightest sign of a relapse, she should be brought in immediately.Jojo was elated with the new but she was just as surprised too.They were being let go without clearing their bills, yet.This was a first.She asked the doctor about this and he only laughed at her question as if she'd only asked it in a bid to be funny."Of course we wouldn't be letting you go unless your bills are cleared." He said, taking in her confused expression before he finally got the message.She had no idea what was going on.The lingering smile died away from his face and he asked,"You don't know anything about this, do you?"

The next morning came much quicker than she'd have liked and Jojo had to give up trying to get herself to sleep a little more and got out of bed.She trudged her way into the bathroom to brush and wash her face.A glimpse of her self in the bathroom mirror showed how tired and exhausted she looked from lack of sleep.She'd been up most of the night with the disturbing thoughts and questions that were nagging her mind and had only been able to fall asleep in the early hours of this morning.Only to have the morning rays snatch that from her too.Her eyes had the beginnings of dark shadows and they were a little red.If nobody notices, then she'd be fine.The clothe she had on was one of the ones she'd gotten before she'd moved into her mother's hospital room and was fairly decent.After deciding it was something she could go out of her room and down
