CHAPTER FORTY EIGHT

Brad ended up ditching his car for a ride in Jordan's.

Of course the man brought his car and there had been absolutely no need for him to have snatched his keys.

The ride to the cafe was blurry and he spent most of it on his phone, pulling up files and documents that were related to that case he'd remembered and the location.

His one witness for a case had gone missing the day they'd been scheduled to meet and a couple days later, his body had turned up cold and very dead at the same address they were driving to.

It had happened years ago when he was still a rookie in the business.

Jordan cursed for the hundredth time and for the same number of times, Brad wondered if it was even safe letting him be behind the wheels.

With the way he was working up right now, they could end up in a ditch somewhere while trying to get there any sooner.
