CHAPTER EIGHTY TWO II

Jordan wasn't thinking of the pain that was shooting through him as JoJo held on to him, he was thinking about how much he's missed her instead.

His little fire cracker.

She looked stressed and tired and broken, he'd seen all that while she'd been fussing over Riley, before she turned to see him standing behind her and it annoyed him to know that he hadn't been able to save her all that pain and trouble, but he was here now, it'd get better.

"She kept mumbling 'I'm sorry' into his clothes, staining the front of his shirt with her tears that he'd rather not see, like it was her fault he'd charged in head first without thinking of the consequences or that he'd been caught and beaten up.

Of course it wasn't and look, it had paid off and they had their little princess back home.

For someone they'd just rescued, Riley was doing well already, chasing after her puppy.

Hopefully, she'd have no lingering trauma from that incident.
