CHAPTER EIGHTY EIGHT

JoJo woke before Riley did, there'd been nightmares that didn't let her hold onto the oblivion for too long.

She was glad Riley wasn't subjected to the same fate though that didn't hold for long.

Tiny feet and big, soulful brown eyes found her sooner than she'd have liked, clouded with visible confusion and fear.

"Come here, baby girl."

She called to her from where she stood at the door.

It did just occur to her why the room looked emptier than she last remembered it.

Jordan had been with her before she'd succumbed to the luring hands of sleep.

"Come."

Her voice was much softer, pleading and beckoning, she didn't want force her, that could be more harmful than it'd be good.

The younger girl finally gave in, and came into the room, crawling into JoJo's laps.

She held her, stroking her hair, the quietness that was hanging around the house making her nauseous.
