Chapter Forty Eight

"I still don't get it. Why? Why all of a sudden she wants to be part of our lives?!" Shelly asked for the tenth time today. She was in her room, staring at the blank screen of her television and imagining she was talking to her mom there.

"I mean who does that? You stay away for a long time then suddenly you're back. Things aren't been done that way."

Kiara sighed. She knew all these ratings was giving her a headache and she didn't want that. She looked around the room wondering where Cindy had run off to. She had said she was being influenced negatively by them so she needed to get away from them.

The resounding knock on the door interrupted them both from their thoughts.

"Come in." They both said in unison.

The door creaked open and Adam poked his head in. "Am I interrupting something, ladies?"
