Chapter Seventy-Seven
Lucinda opened her daughter's room door quietly and stared at her. She saw her sitting on the bed staring into space unaware of her phone that had been ringing constantly.
She was surprised at how quickly her daughter had become a shadow of her former self. Ever since she got back from that vacation, she had been staying in her room all alone not even opening up to her and it hurt her so bad.
She had stopped coming down for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Her father had noticed it and inquired what the matter was but she had blatantly convinced them that she was fine.
But Lucinda knew better. This wasn't fine. Who the hell zones out all day not knowing when her phone is ringing or when someone enters her room.
She had even enquired from her friends and they hadn't been able to give her any tangible answer or reason why she should be acting weirdly.
Lucinda felt the tears prick her eyes as she took i
Chapter Seventy-EightShelly stared at her mother, standing in front of her with her hands fisted on her waist, her face scrunched up in concern and sadness. This was the last thing she wanted. She didn't want her mom to be sad."Mommy?" She called quirking her brows in a questioning manner."Oh good, you're finally alive," her mom snapped at her.She pouted, "I wasn't dead before." Okay, maybe she was but not literally. Her mom smirked at her, "Yeah, a walking zombie will be the more reasonable name."She chuckled. She had missed this. Talking to people and not zoning off. She felt like she had been in a shell and now there were cracks in that shell."Mom, don't tease me," she pouted a small smile playing on her lips. She watched her mom wipe off a stray tear that trickled down her cheeks. She stared at her concerned."What is the problem, mom?"Her mom shook her head softly, "I'm just happy
Chapter Seventy-NineShe didn't know if she should cry or laugh as she stared at the portrait before her. She hadn't been able to paint in a long time and when she finally does, she paints him.Fucking him!Fucking Kol was staring back at her through her painting."Wow! That's a real work of art," her mom exclaimed peeking at the painting through her shoulders."You can say that again mom," she said in a resigned voice as she stared at the painting again. She had managed to highlight every aspect of him. His full lips, his dark eyes, his pointed nose, his sharp jawline...Ugh! Get the fuck out of my head!!"Are you alright, darling?" Her mom asked concern evident in her green eyes, a frown etched on her face."I'm fine mom he just won't leave me alone!" She blurted out."Who?" Her mom asked, amusement shining in her eyes."Him!" She growled pointing to the painting. Her mom chuckled softly, "I
Chapter EightyLucinda entered the driver's seat after arguing with her daughter for almost an hour. Okay, maybe she was kidding a little bit. They just argued for a few minutes and she had won the argument even though her daughter was still pouting as she entered the passenger seat. The argument was that she couldn't drive a car in her condition. It wasn't allowed and she had refused vehemently. She wouldn't be treated as an invalid even though she was very happy with her daughter's suggestion.Ever since her daughter's sudden proclamation at the beach about the love she had for her mom, she felt her heart flutter happily in her chest. She was very happy and excited."Mom, this is very dangerous you shouldn't be pregnant and be driving," Shelly complained again.Lucinda rolled her eyes, "I'm fine besides I was the one that drove you here remember?"She blushed furiously, "I wasn't myself then mom."Lucinda patted her ch
Chapter Eighty-OneShelly stepped out of the car after making sure her mom had arrived home safely and strode towards Kiara's porch. She rang the doorbell just once and almost screamed at how the door was yanked open with a smiling face Kiara standing in front of her."Finally, you're here Shelly," Kiara said excitedly.Shelly nodded stepping inside as Kiara hurriedly shut the door, "What is the emergency?""Mommy, why didn't you tell me you have an emergency? Where's he at? Imma deal with him right now."Shelly whirled around at the voice of a child and saw the younger version of Kiara staring at her. Brunette and blue eyes, she was very beautiful."Who is this mom?" She asked her baby blue eyes shining with curiosity."Go and play with your toys, Cassie mommy is fine," she heard Kiara's voice. Her voice sounded so loving and kind towards her daughter. This was not the crazy Kiara she was used to.Hold on,
Chapter Eighty-Two"This is crazy!"Shelly glared at the person talking wanting to bite off her head, hmm, if only she was a werewolf."How's it crazy, Kiara? You exposed me to danger," she snapped angrily."Da–anger," Kiara chortled, "Indeed."Shelly drilled more holes in her head, "I presume you had fun at your date?"Kiara narrowed her eyes to slits, "Don't change the topic."She pouted, "But I don't wanna talk about him."Kiara giggled, "You show Kol and you claimed I exposed you to mortal danger, how is that possible?"Shelly shrugged, "I dunno he's always on and off. Like his mood swings get in the way most times and it's annoying as fuck. Each time we see each other, we always end up hurting the other so let him stay away from me."Kiara shrugged, "I think the guy is totally into you."Shelly face-palmed, "Why do you guys keep saying that?""Because it's the truth and wait&

He counted to ten but still, there was no response. Then as he was about to ring the doorbell again, the door swung open with full force and he saw Shelly glaring at him."Shelly?" He called not bothering to hide the surprise evident in his voice."You!" She jabbed a finger on his chest."Ow!" He winced slightly, "What have I done?"She narrowed her eyes to slits as she continued glaring at him, "If you hurt Kiara you won't leave this place alive!"Wait, what?!"Thank you for the warm welcome, may I come in now?" His voice was dripping with sarcasm as he flashed her a wide smile. She rolled her eyes then made a "hmmph" sound before opening the door wider for him to come in."Kiara, Adam is here!" She hollered before sitting down on the sofa her eyes still on him.He t

My parents are on the way so you will also meet them.""Mommy, isn't that bullying?"The tiny voice of Cassie at the doorway snapped Kiara out of her maniacally laughter."Bullying? Why would you say that?" She asked her daughter with a small smile trying to look innocent."Well, you told me that forcing someone to do something they don't want to do is bullying," she replied with a frown."Oh, but I'm not forcing your aunty to do anything," Kiara insisted.Cassie shook her head, "Nope, ask aunty Shelly nicely I'm sure she would go with you."Kiara

Shelly stared at the 6ft5 man in his early fifties as he strode down the stairs, an aura of confidence and arrogance radiating off him.Oh, Kiara, let's run away already, Shelly pleaded in her inner mind."Why are you being rude to our guest, Selina?" His hard voice was heard again as he stood in front of them.Or maybe he's not that bad, Shelly thought."I..."He raised a palm in the air cutting off whatever his wife was about to say. Shelly was impressed by this."Come in, let's all have lunch together."
