Chapter Twenty
When she opened her eyes, something was different.
Jumping up to look outside, Raven groaned. It wasn't raining yet, though the clouds were dense and opaque.
Veronica was in custody once again, locked up in prison. Jace has told her the case was going to be difficult, the judge she had paid off to set a bail was suddenly dismissed. Something wasn’t right somewhere, even after confessing to the crime, Veronica still had the right to a fair trial. It was going to happen really soon, and Raven needed to act fast—before the trial proceeds.

It was drawing close to the twentieth day since the model was proclaimed missing, his sleepless nights were evident by his dark circles, his face was hard and drawn out, turning his head towards the man in front of him.
