Chapter 16

She woke up at her usual time. The room looked empty. She felt saddened. After consummating, she was hoping he would lay next to her, demanding more.

A tear slid down her cheek. Wiping it with the back of her hand, she swirled her neck and froze. His gaze was heated against her body. She felt the cold air against her skin.

"Good morning," His brows creased.

She tugged the comforter up, "Good morning." She cast her eyes low, blushing, forgetting her sadness.

He towered over her and leaned in to kiss her, "Call me if you need anything," He said.

She nodded. She could feel his calmness and peaceful environment surrounding her. He leaned down and pressed his lips softly on her head.

She exhaled softly, pushing away the nagging thoughts.

She clenched the soft fabric to her chest and watched him striding out. He clicked the door behind him.
