Chapter 2

Andrew POV

I cannot believe I have to go to this stupid ball tomorrow. I hate wearing a suit. Why do they have to do this to us? I asked Derric our Alpha for a leave of absence and he promised me I can leave as soon as the ball was over. Edward said he will take my place as beta once I left.

I am going on my own tour of discovery. I want to go find my mate. The last few weeks have been torture. I like seeing my friend and Alpha happy with his mate but I also want that happiness. I have already packed my bags and I am leaving in three days. I hear a knock on my door.

"Sorry to bother you Andrew but we need to leave. We still have a long way to go before we arrive in London. You know it is a 7-hour flight. We also need to check-in at the hotel before 9 pm."

"I am just waiting for you, Luna."

"My name is Emelia. Please stop calling me Luna. When we are in the company of others you may call me Luna otherwise I am Emelia. We are friends and I don't want you to be formal with me."

I smile at the Luna. I know she hates me calling her that but I like pressing her buttons. I know we are friend's but that is what friends do. I really like Emelia and her son Grayson. They have been good for Derric. They have been married for about 9 months now and I have never seen my friend so happy.

We walk down to the car that is waiting for us. Emelia walks to Derric that is carrying Grayson. Edward is also there and I am kind of surprise he is the one who is usually late.

We all get in the car. I am the one driving with Edward in the passenger seat with Derric and his little family in the back. The whole drive everyone is quite even Grayson.

"Is everything okay?" Edward asks me I just nod my head. I don't want to talk about it with Emelia and Derric in the car. I don’t want them to feel bad. Let me take this time to tell you more about me. My name Is Andrew Walker. I am the Beta of the Dark moon pack. My best friends are Derric and Edward. I am 300 years old. I am also a big romantic since I had wonderful parents that are still together and still love each other. I want the whole married with lots of children since I was an only child. I want the white picket fence. I believe everyone is beautiful in their own way

Enough of my rant. We are at the airport. Derric bought a private plane a few months back when we started the negotiations for the peace treaty between the supernaturals and humans. It was the best idea he ever had. Do you know how horrible it is to fly commercial 3 times a week? It also saves us a lot of money in the long run. 

We all piled into the plane. This airplane has everything you can think of. There is a room at the back, a bathroom, an alcohol cabinet, and a buffet table. We also have onboard Wi-Fi. The room is mostly used by Emelia for Grayson since she will never leave him at home.

Derric, Edward, and I went to sit down while Emelia carried a crying Grayson to the back. Edward came to sit next to me.

We took off and Edward and I decided we were going to watch a movie for now. 30 minutes Derric gets up and walks to the back of the plane towards the bedroom. Edward turns to me after Derric closes the door.

"I know I shouldn't be jealous of their relationship but I am. The only reason I went with Derric around the world in search of his mate was I was hoping to find my mate too. Am I being selfish? Don't get me wrong I am happy for my friend." Edward looks so serious.

"You are not selfish. I feel the same way. Hopefully, we will find our mate at the ball tomorrow night, but just in case I am still going on my journey. Maybe once I found my mate you can go find yours."

"That is actually a brilliant Idea Andrew. Let’s just see what tomorrow brings then we can go from there."

We fell back into silence. Edward was watching the movie while I was lost in thought wondering what my mate will be like. I wonder if my mate is a girl or a boy. I don’t care either way. I will love him or her no matter what. The moon goddess chose my mate for me for a reason.

I check my emails on my phone but see nothing important so I just focus back on the movie. Not that I really know what is happening in the movie. It is just there to fill the time. 7 hours on a flight can be boring if you have nothing to do.

Halfway through the movie and Edward is passed out. Yes, the movie is boring. There is no action in and I love action movies. I decide I am also going to try and sleep since there is nothing else to do on this plane except eat and drink. I have already eaten something and even though I need a drink I don't think Emelia will be happy if I get drunk. Then again sleeping will also help with the jet lag later.

I walk over to the bigger seat and made myself comfortable. It takes a while but I finally fall asleep dreaming about the future. 

I woke up and feel someone covered me with a blanket. I look over at Edward and see he is still asleep. I wonder who covered me. I look around the cabin and my question was answered when I saw Emelia sitting at the table.

"How long was I asleep?"

"About 4 hours. We will be landing soon."

"Where are Derric and Grayson?"

"They are still sleeping. I took my chance to eat something before my little devil wakes up."

"Wait isn't Grayson an angel?" She looks at me and smiles.

"He might be an angel but he behaves like a devil. Believe me, you will understand once you have kids."

She finishes up eating and walks back to the room. I just stand up and go to the bathroom. I brushed my teeth and washed my face. Felling a bit more refreshed I went to wake up Edward from his nap.
