Am I inconsequential to it all,
a random, forgettable moment in your delicate, pastel existence?

As Loveth commenced pulling Olabisi's hair, heading towards the door, Nneka ran to grab a hold of her arm, which she dug her teeth into.
"Yay! a aja ni yi girl (this girl is a dog o)!" Loveth exclaimed in Yoruba, rescuing her arm after Isabelle ran to pull Nneka away.
Nneka then turned to grab Isabelle's bag, shaking her violently, as it was Olabisi's turn to grab the end of Loveth's braided hair.
"What is going on here?!" Miss April demanded the moment she yanked the door opened.
Isaac came from behind her to separate Olabisi from Loveth, whom had started to slap Olabisi's arm and face. Isabelle was then rescued by Miss April.
"Oooh!" Loveth shouted, stomping her feet as she slapped Isaac's firm grip around her arm. "Lea

Emily hated this. There existed a video that ensured, if seen by her aunt, her head would be the first thing offered as a peace offering. She couldn't even let herself imagine how Isabelle would look at her, should the video come to light.Jessica's threat had been totally clear: either she cooperated or her adventure would be the next notification her aunt would receive on her Facebook account. At this point, Emily wished her aunt wasn't the type that kept up with her social media accounts. But that wish was a waste of time, because even on Sunday, after church, Aunt Jane had taken a couple of pictures of Emily and her cousins and also of them together, and had posted them on Facebook.Emily's shoulder collided into someone's, snapping her out of her thoughts. A face materialized before her and she recognised him to be Isaac.

His scent was unforgettable. She didn't know what cologne he used, but she was sure it had a mix of citrus in it."You truly are beautiful." She got goosebumps remembering how he had whispered in her ear, and how his words had made her feel beautiful.A soft smile touched her face."Ebere," her aunt called. She snapped out of her trance and looked at her aunt, who had turned from the steaming pot on the gas cooker to watch her with her hands on her hips.Thankfully, her aunt had brought the kids home, since she thought she'd be in school for after-school lessons. Emily would've gone to get them if
Emily lowered her head to get a view of David's face, and she saw his lips pucker like he was about to cry."She's always beating me on my back," he confessed. "She'll take me to an empty room and tell everyone I was going to help her with something. And that's when she'd flog me. Marks are even starting to form on my back."Her eyes widened slightly, but she recollected herself before he'd be wavered by her shocked expression. "Let me see them."David didn't like the idea and his face showed it. But Emily reassured him with a look. With shaky hands, he raised his shirt, turning his back to her. There was, in fact, healing line marks scarring the poor boy's back — about five bold marks if she were to count.Emily's eyes stung with tears.Mercy ran over to

Jessica watched her brother rise to his full length and head for the door, where he stopped and turned back slightly."And one more thing: Emily's not your pawn. If you involve her in any of your stupid games like you did with Loveth and Tope, trust me, your little playdate with Bankole won't be the only thing you'll have to worry about.""What do you know about Loveth and Tope?" she challenged."Oh. Not much." He mocked her with a thoughtful look on his face. "Just that Tope was a scholarship student, Loveth's best friend, albino and Bankole's first love."Jessica felt blood rush to her heart with a thud.Tope was all of the above and her greatest threat. She had come with her smooth, white skin, giddy self and optim
The door was locked, causing Grace to shake the knob violently as she called out to Jessica to open the door.AfterJide had left her room, she hadn't hesitated in locking the door (since she didn't want him barging in like before) and hasn't stepped out her room since then.As soon as she allowed Grace in, she locked the door. She hadn't been sure Grace would show up, since it was a Saturday night — which meant Grace should have been dressed up for a party or even completely wasted at one. It was a usual Saturday night routine, but Jessica had already lost the appetite for a party. Besides, her parents would be home the whole night.Fortunately, Grace had been deciding which party to attend when she called."I got your message and came as fast as I could," Gra
