“I can handle myself, you don’t need to do all of those things” I chuckled, lightly patting Azrael’s hands. My tail vanished after two weeks of resting. I have heard no news from anyone as this man beside me insisted that I shouldn’t read any of the news or messages until I am fully recuperated.

He was right though, besides, I don’t want to be a burden to him. In all those fourteen days with me resting on his mansion, he was the one to do all the chores and cooking as there was no maid around. I saw him working late at night beside the pool, trying to accompany and watch me sleep despite him being tired.

“I am afraid you’ll fall again with my watch,” he spoke mildly, his face was blank as if recalling memories that were too painful for him to handle. My heart sank, a strong man like him being soft and fragile was not a picture I wanted to see. He had been through life and death
