Chapter 5

I slightly tapped the back of the elder woman, urging her to let me go from her tight embrace. I heard Cool cleared his throat purposely and called the woman 'Queen'.

"Oh my!" The woman exclaimed as she reluctantly let go of me.

"Forgive my loss of manners, I was just so thrilled to finally see you! Blare and Ice sure did a great job hiding you from everyone," she said while gazing at me gently, but my forehead creased upon hearing her mention my parents' name.

"You know my parents?"

"Of course darling! Blare is my daughter!" she said smiling and with her fingers, she gently set aside the strands of my hair to the back of my ear.

"Daughter? So you're my grandmother? But Mom didn't mention anything about you." I was scanning her doubtfully. Sure, she does resemble a lot like my mom, but I can still remember Mom's words to never trust anyone.

Aside from that boy, who was just silently watching me.

"Of course she won't. She went away to protect you, she won't risk your lives just so you can know about her estranged mother," she said and her face suddenly look dull, but she immediately composed herself and faced the girl I was with earlier.

"Ignis, please hurry and inform the kitchen to prepare the Princess' meal. I'm sure she is starving," she said and gaze at me while saying the last parts of her piece.

"Immediately, your highness." The girl, which I assumed to be called Ignis, politely bow down her head before getting out of the room.

"I'll leave you here for a while. Cool, please take care of her." My grandmother said before she smiled at me and made her way out of the room.

After she went out, I immediately walked towards Cool and asked him what this is all about. However, instead of answering my endless questions about how I ended up here with a supposed to be 'Queen' who was claiming herself as my grandmother, he walked out of the room and slightly nod at the---

"Was that guards? What the heck?! Is this a real palace?" I asked him, flabbergasted about everything that I am seeing.

"Isn't it obvious?" he said without looking back.

"Why did you brought me here? Where's my parents?" I asked him while I was busy following him and looking around.

Everything felt and looks weird. Every time we pass by someone they would slightly bow down their head and call me 'princess'.

I blinked my eyes numerous times when my last memory of what happened during that night, resurfaced in my mind.

I pulled his arm so that he would stop walking and would look at me properly. I just realized once again how tall he was because of that, I needed to look up a bit to meet his eyes.

He looked at me as if asking what my problem was.

"Last night, you also called me a princess, why are you calling me a princess?"

"Because you are a princess." He said in a matter-of-fact tone, I almost rolled my eyes because of his sarcastic tone. He turned around once again and resumed walking.

"How did I became a princess overnight?!" I stopped walking and asked him loudly, gaining attention from the people around us. As if on cue, a loud boom captured everyone's attention including mine and Cool.

I frustratingly put my tongue on the side of my cheeks before producing a tsked sound from it.

I just made a big fire lamp explode.

Cool coldly faced me and reminded me to control my emotions.

I was so shocked when I heard him say that.

Did he know about my ability?

How did he know about it?

Did my parents told him?

A lot of questions keeps on racing on my mind but I absentmindedly followed him towards a glowing door.

And before I knew it, we were inside a library.

Yeah, a library! Only that the books are open and floating, flipping its pages on its own.

I felt myself rooted on the ground.

"Cool," I called out nervously.

"Where exactly did you take me?" I added when I didn't receive any response from him.

"This," he said as he took the book with the brightest glow.

"This contains the answers to your questions," he said while handing the book towards me. I immediately took it from his hands and almost stumbled to the ground when I realized how heavy the book is.

"Why does this weigh so much?! It looks so thin!" I whined while giving him deathly glares and wincing a bit while carrying the heavy book.

Why didn't he warned me?!

"That is the book of prophecy."

"Prophecy? What prophecy?" I asked curiously while scanning the outside of the book.

It looks old, ancient to be exact. The cover looks like made of wood twigs that were put together in a haste. It was a messy book cover, to be honest.

"Your prophecy." My head shot up after hearing what he said.

"My prophecy? What was that supposed to mean?"

"Read," he said and gestured the book.

"How expensive are your words? Can you just explain it to me? I don't have time to read---"

"Read," he said in an authoritative voice, cutting me from my endless sentiments.

I bit my lower lip, trying to suppress my irritation.

What was mom thinking? Asking me to trust this guy?

"Fhyra, read it." I rolled my eyes at him before closing my eyes tightly, counting from one to ten to calm my nerves.

Fhyra, you are in a library, there are books. You can't play with fire here.

I keep on reminding myself of my location before sharply glaring at him and walked to a nearby table. The book was too heavy for me so it would be very uncomfortable reading it while standing.

He immediately followed me and leaned on a wall beside the table with his arms crossed in front of his chest.

I placed the book on the table, untied the knotted twigs, and slowly opened the book.

I immediately closed my eyes and even used my arm to protect it from the bright light that came from the book.

A few moments later, the light subsided and I was able to see unfamiliar characters written on it.

But what shocked me to the core was that I can read and understand those unfamiliar characters!

I gazed back at Cool who was silently watching me.

"How do I know these characters?"

"It's not you who's reading it. It was your Flamis persona," he answered.

"Flamis persona? What was that?"

"You'll know about it later," he answered.

I glanced back at the book. The first page says "Spadomar" and I immediately know that it means prophecy.

I flipped the first page and my brows furrowed in confusion.

There's only one page but its weight feels like it contains millions of it!

"There's only one page?" I asked loudly but didn't get any response from him, so I just decided to read what was written on it.

"Darkness, blood, and death will soon invade our world.

Flamis, Glaciers, Baylans, and of all tribes are in danger.

Only the Fated Savior can save us all!

Born in a forbidden love but was blessed with four great guardians as protectors.

We must find her!"

I shifted my gaze back at Cool after reading the page containing their so-called 'prophecy'.

"So, how does this explain everything?" I asked with a doubtful look.

"Simple. You are the Fated Savior and I am one of your guardians. Do I need to tell more?" He answered with a cold expression.
