Chapter 1

Finally she did it! Filled with confident anticipation, she fell back on her new bed and stared at the ceiling. Of course, it wasn't her bed, nor her apartment, but at least she got the job and not one of the other women who, so to speak, snapped the jobs from under her nose. As a girl with her past, most people found it difficult to trust her and give her jobs. But she had this one now and she would do well. Full of energy, she jumped off the narrow bed and took another closer look around her new home. The walls were painted white and you could see the shadows of pictures that were no longer on the wall. The furniture was also old and had flaws, or was mended like your bed. Apparently the landlords didn't care much about the office, but she didn't care, it was dry and warm, always better than where she came from ... She shook the unpleasant thoughts aside and looked at the other bed in the room. It was done and, as she could see from the furnished half of the room, already occupied. She got her toiletry bag from her suitcase and went into the adjoining bathroom. Like the bedroom, it was small. There was a sink, toilet and shower tray. Finally she could bathe again! She quickly put her things in the closet, which was still free, and went back into the room. There was a wardrobe opposite her bed, just like the other bed. Here, too, she put her few belongings away and closed the closet again. Then she put her mother's photo on her bedside table and sat in the chair in front of the only desk in the room. Apparently they had to share this one. She waited ten minutes, then twenty. Nothing happened and she didn't know what to expect from her. Suddenly the door opened and a long-legged beauty with a curly red mane entered the room. She stopped abruptly. "Hi!" Her roommate looked at her and suddenly she felt like the ugly little duckling with her 1.65 and dull, mirror-smooth blonde hair. “You have to be the new one. Nice that you're here. I can really use some help with the big party coming up. I'm Hannah and you? ”Hannah held out her hand. "I'm Alissa." She shook hands with her, then nervously brushed a strand of hair back from her forehead. "What party?" She asked then.

"You don't know?" Confused, Hannah looked at her. "But they sent you for the party."

“You didn't tell me anything. Only that I should pack warm things and then they put me on the next plane. Only at the airport did I know that I was flying to Austria. "

"Oh ..." Nothing more came out of the red-haired beauty. They stared at each other for a moment, then Hannah broke it. "But you have experience with what a chalet girl does?" Alissa shook her head and looked at the floor. Gone was the exhilaration that she had half an hour ago. Now fear and ignorance rather gnawed at her soul. “Then how can it be that they sent you? The Masons wanted an experienced chalet girl. Do you even know how to open a bottle of champagne or how to serve other people? "

Perhaps she wasn't the most experienced, but she knew very well how to open said bottles and also how to operate, or at least how to be served. But that wouldn't make much difference either, she learned quickly. “I think the agency had a slight shortage of staff. I did a quick crash course. "

"But is it your first job as a Chalet Girl?" Hannah looked down at her without understanding. Alissa swallowed, then looked up. “Yes, but I learn quickly. If you tell me what to do then I'll do it. "

"Where did you work before?"

She had feared that question. "I haven't worked yet." Then she decided on her truth.

“You haven't worked at all yet? Did you get the job right after you graduated from high school? "

At Hannah's vision of her life, she couldn't help but smile slightly. "I don't have a high school diploma, but ..."

"How old are you? You're already 18 aren't you? "

"I'm 24."

“And why didn't you work? You have no work experience and get such an important position? ”Alissa could read the questions on Hannah's face and she understood her skepticism too, but she just couldn't tell her about her past. "I've done well and, as I said, I'm learning quickly."

"I hope you learn to make-up yourself too."

"Make up?" Echote Alissa.

“The Masons and their guests expect something outward from their staff. You have to perk up a bit. "

"But I don't have any make-up."

Now it was Hannah's turn to look puzzled. "What?"

"I don't have make-up." Alissa repeated.

"Nothing at all?"

"Does a moisturizer count?"

Hannah shook her head in slight horror. "No, that definitely doesn't count!" She thought quietly to herself. "The guests come today at 7 pm, until then we have four hours and I've actually finished everything." She spoke louder again. “I'll put your makeup on in a moment. And you go into town first thing tomorrow and get your own make-up. "

Alissa stared at the floor, embarrassed. "Sadly, I can not do that."

"Because?"

"I have no money."

"So my love." Hannah pushed the chair over to her and motioned for her to sit down, then went into the bathroom and got her make-up. "You can tell me everything while I put your make-up on."

Alissa swallowed. "Everything?"

"Let's start with why you got this job with no work experience."

"I come from an old noble family, that was enough for the agency."

"How come you have no money when your family is of aristocracy? Or why do you have to work at all? Are you broke? "

“You can call it that, but I don't want to talk about my family. I've lived without her for the past few years and will continue to do so. "

Hannah whispered a few unintelligible words to herself, then said: "Well, I like you, even though you're one of the rich," She made a stretching gesture with her arms. "Are you not as snooty as they are for a long time."

"Believe me, I've put that down in the last few years." Hannah was probably done with her face, because now she took a brush and combed her hair. "I loved to do my little sister's hair." She said and ran the brush gently through Alissa's hair. “Your hair is so soft and still nice and thick. You have really great hair and it's so wonderfully long. ”She enthused and then tied her in a high ponytail. "So. You look really great! ”Hannah admired her work and held out a mirror. Alissa was amazed. She really had a great face. It had been years since she last saw her makeup done. She looked up at Hannah gratefully. "Many thanks. I hope I can somehow come to terms with you? "

Hannah laughed and pulled her off the chair. “Buy your own make-up soon. If you do well, the guests will tip you well. And now I'll show you the house and explain our tasks to you. "

The day was finally over! Alissa sank down on the bed. Most of all she would just like to snuggle under the covers and fall asleep, but she had to go to the bathroom and Hannah was still there. She forced herself to her feet and slipped her shoes off her feet, then pulled on her old pajamas. She folded her pants neatly and then put the tip back in. Hannah was right, the rich friends of her employers gave generous tips, she had earned € 100 that evening. She put the money in her drawer and then Hannah came out of the bathroom. "So, I'm ready. Tomorrow you may first. ”She stretched with relish and then trotted to her bed. “What a tough evening. Luckily you were there. "

Alissa smiled at the praise.

“We have to get up at seven in the morning. At eight the company wants to eat then they will go skiing and only come back for dinner, which means that we will have a lot of free time. "

"And that will be the case for the next few days?"

“Yep, until they leave on Sunday. The Masons stay longer, of course, but you don't have that much work with them. "

"I found Mrs. Mason actually quite nice."

“Yes it is too. I really don't know how she can be married to a man like that ... "Hannah thought out loud. But Alissa's curiosity was aroused. "How do you mean?"

“Well, he's such an unsympathetic guy. I don't know ... but somehow I have such a bad feeling around him. I also find the looks he secretly gives me disgusting. It's the same with his son. It looks really good, but somehow it scares me. "

“I didn't even notice. And was his son even there? "

Hannah yawned heartily and then said: “No, he must have business to do. And you're new here too. Maybe you'll notice it too, or I'll just make it up. Now see that you come to the bathroom and then to bed. ”With that she turned to the wall and wished her good night. Alissa went into the bathroom, washed and a short time later lay down in her bed and shortly afterwards fell asleep completely exhausted.
