Chapter 2

Two weeks have passed since that night. The night when the Derricks have received their own son's ashes on his birthday. The Sheriff's department still hasn't discovered who The Silent Man was, but the curfew was still remaining.

Just a day before Thanksgiving, everyone received an invitation to a funeral. an invitation that said it was Christoffer Derrick's funeral. Everyone assumed the invitation was from the Derricks, but the Derricks also got the same invitation but only to a different person's funeral.

The funeral held a place in an underground bunker. Everyone was expected to be there an hour before the curfew. It was a must as the invitation said. By 6:30 everyone was there.

As each person got in the bunker, they expressed their sympathy to the Derricks and the confused Derricks accepted the sympathy though they never understood what was going on.

After a while, things started getting deeper and deeper. People started bringing photos of Christoffer while others brought flowers and gifts for the Derrick family.

"Wait, who's funeral is this?" Mrs. Derrick yelled raising her hands so everyone could hear.

Everybody fell silent and they gave each other confused looks.

"Mrs. Derrick, if I am not mistaken, we got an invitation to Christoffer Derrick's funeral happening in an underground bunker at 6 sharp," someone at the front said as the others nodded their heads in agreement.

"We got an invitation saying that it was the funeral of Mr. and Mrs. William's son, but they are not even here," Mr. Derrick said slowly as if thinking of what is happening,

"So there's no one dead? I mean the funeral is for no one?" one of the people attending asked,

"If we were all invited to a funeral, but there's no one dead...yet, that means it's a setup. Which basically means someone's going to die. WE NEED TO CALL THE SHERIFF!" Mrs. Derrick yelled while pulling her phone out of her pocket just as everyone did. They tried and tried but no data was found in the bunker. Everyone fell silent as Mrs. Derrick tried to calm them down and tell them that everything would be fine.

Mrs. Derrick led everyone to the door with the intention that they could go home without anyone getting injured, but the doors were locked. Everyone was stuck inside the bunker where there's no data. As they used their best strength to force open the door, the lights went out.

The bunker was now filled with screams and cries as everyone tried to find their families in the dark. As much as Mrs. and Mr. Derrick tried to calm them down, it didn't work this time. Everyone that was in the bunker was either crying or screaming. As the cries and screams continued, Mrs. Derrick and Mr. Derrick tried calling someone, anyone outside the bunker but it didn't work.

The crowd went completely mute as they heard 2 gunshots in the bunker right after another. About what felt like 2 seconds later all the lights went on revealing two bodies hanging off the wall, both shot right in the middle of their foreheads. There's were knives all around them and bombs were strapped to their chests counting down from 2 minutes. Soon the doors were unlocked as people started sprinting towards it to get out after reading the note beside the dead bodies again written by the blood of no other than those two dead bodies saying: IF YOU DON'T MAKE IT OUT OF THE BUNKER IN TWO MINUTES, NO ONE IN THE BUNKER SURVIVES.

FROM: THE SILENT MAN

People scurried out of the bunker dragging their families and friends with them. Once everyone cleared out, Mrs. and Mr. Derrick followed them out of the bunker but stopped on their tracks when they noticed there were still two people left trying to stop the bomb. The bomb was counting down very fast, as they tried everything to stop it. 30...29...28...27...26...25...

It kept counting down no matter what they did. Mr. and Mrs. Derrick attempted to get them out of there only to realize that those two girls were their daughters. Even if the parents stopped the bomb, there was no use since the girls were shot and stabbed to death already. 15...14...13...12...11...10...

Mr. and Mrs. Derrick did the only thing they could at that time which was dragging them out of there. They ran as fast as they could as they pulled them out of the bunker. Once they were out of the bunker, they let them go, pushing them to run farther away from the bunker. 5...4...3...2...1...BOOM! The bomb exploded as their parents shed tears.

After making sure everyone got home safely, the Sheriff's department went back to the bunker to explore things with the Derricks. The bunker wasn't how it looked like when they got out. After the explosion, the chairs were broken into pieces, scattered everywhere. The bodies of the two girls were cut in half, each on different sides of the bunker. The Sheriff's department got to work right at that time, taking pictures of the dead bodies, while the other's called an ambulance to take the bodies and knives away for a test of fingerprints and the rest were taping off the crime scene. The Sheriff's department made their way to the hospital where the test was being taken. When the tests were done, the fingerprints revealed two young men around in the middle of their 30s. They went everywhere on the news as expected. Newspapers were again sent to each and every house.

The next day, the whole town was in a big shock as the Sheriff's department shared the news with the paparazzi, saying that the suspects were turned in earlier this morning by the parents of the two dead girls, Mr. and Mrs. Edwin, claiming that the suspects were, in fact, their own sons...Jeremiah and Jacob Edwin.
