Mom!? [2]

Soon enough, the doctors came along with the man from earlier. After some tests had been done on her and asking her questions, everyone had left her alone in the room again.

A sigh left her mouth.

Min Sihyeon wondered where her friends and parents were, and whether or not they were worried about her. Although her parents could not be considered completely reliable, they tend to be overprotective at times.

It is strange that she had woken up for almost half of the day yet no one had come to visit her. Even if her social circle was not that large, she did have couple of normal friends.

Her thoughts had grown, and no matter how many theories she made about this weird situation, she was not able to find a way out of it.

Probably around three hours had passed before the door to the room was pushed open, and the man from earlier had walked into the room. The little kid from earlier was not present with him.

Her eyes scrutinized each one of his moves as he made his steps towards her and took a seat beside her bed. His gaze was cold and penetrating at the same time, making her feel bothered. From that alone, she was able to calculate her worth in his eyes.

Then again, there were chances that she was wrong as well. Min Sihyeon would not particularly consider herself to be a genius when it came to reading emotions; she was merely mediocre at it.

There were times she had made mistakes in reading facial expressions, and therefore, she would not put her complete trust in this.

"Min Sihyeon, what is the last thing you remember?" he asked.

His question invaded her privacy, but his intimidating stare made it difficult for her to hold in her answer.

"I had the entrance exam the next day, so I remember going to bed late at night after studying," Sihyeon answered.

"Which year?"

"2010," she replied, "Could it be that I really have been in a coma for a long time?"

He voiced out, "Currently, it is May of 2020. It appears that you have lost ten years worth of memories."

Min Sihyeon stared at the man as if he was absurd. There was no way something that dramatic had happened to her, and there was clear disbelief in her eyes. There was no way she would be able to trust a stranger!

"Ah! Is that so? That's quite sad then. Now, can you call my parents?" Sihyeon said.

There was no way she would be able to argue with such man. Once a familiar face was here, she would be able to escape and clarify.

"That won't be possible," he stated.

"Why not?" she questioned.

Seeing that how he remained silent to that was starting to frustrate her, and that smiling face of hers was long gone.

Unable to hold it in any longer, she let out a deep breath and said, "This scammer! Look, I don't know what you are trying to do, but leave me out of this! Like hell I will believe this bullshit of yours! Just get lost if you are not going to be of any help."

The second all those words left her mouth she regretted it. Although Sihyeon wouldn't call herself a coward, the man's eyes managed at that instant caused a chill to go down her back.

Seeing how the man turned his back on her and was about to leave caused her to feel baffled. The man was way too rude!

Opening her mouth, she was about to curse at the man when he had opened the door and left already. All she could do was glare at the door he had walked out through.

"Are you fucking kidding me!?" she exclaimed loudly.

Then, staring down at her handicapped leg, she let out another groan. Never had she felt this helpless in her life!

Would someone come to satisfy her curiosity if she created a scene at here?

Although being painted at some kind of maniac wasn't something she preferred, desperation led people to go against their norms.

Therefore, staring at the flower vase beside the table, she extended her hand towards it while apologetically staring at it. Although destroying it brought great pains to her heart, she was left with no choices.

Raising it up put quite a strain on her, and her body was at an awkward stature right now. The weight of the vase was tough for her hand to handle.

"I am really sorry, but I am really left with no choices."

With that, she closed her eyes, and using all the strength she was able to muster, she targeted the vase towards the wall. A scream escaped from her lips as the vase came in contact with the surface.

She tightly closed her eyes.

The vase shattered into pieces, and the glass shards spread all throughout the room. The flowers scattered over the ground, and it was quite a pity for this to happen to a beautiful set of flower.

Opening her eyes slowly, Sihyeon took in the sight of the room before her, and to her satisfaction, the door opened. A wide smile formed on her face at that.

An unfamiliar face fell into her line of sight again.

The shock was visible in the man's eyes as he saw the room before looking back to Sihyeon. Slight amount of guilt was present in her eyes as she raised her hand to rub the back of her head.

Maybe she had gotten a little overboard with that.

A sigh escaped from the man's lips while he carefully made his way inside, not stepping on the shards, and closed the door behind him.

From the man's face, Sihyeon was able to decipher that he wasn't that friendly neither did he seem to be pleased by her. Although the man before him didn't appear to be amiable either, at least he did not have disgust present on his face.

"Min Sihyeon, even if you had lost your memories, you are still this ill-mannered," the man stated.

The smile on her face disappeared instantly at his hostile tone. Even if she had her faults in this, that didn't imply they were not responsible for this. Because of them, she was driven to the corner.

"Who are you?" she questioned, folding her hands over her chest.

Earlier she had already let a man walk over her, and she wasn't going to let that happen again. Although she had a happy-go-lucky personality, her pride was not something that could be easily trampled on.

The corner of his lips curved upwards to form a smirk, and he answered, "Do you think you are worthy to know that?"

The man did appear to be about a decade older than her, and keeping that in mind, she kept her manners in check. That's why, she did not laugh at his cringy words.

Why would he be even given a name if others weren't allowed to call him by that?

"Okay, Uncle," she said, "This situation doesn't make absolutely any sense to me, and I would be truly pleased if you could probably bring my parents. If that's not possible, at least call my friends."

Even though she tried to be as polite as possible, it appeared that he only turned angry, and his glare was turning more and more obvious as each second passed by.

"Uncle!?" He scoffed. "You rude bitch! You always know how you aggravate me! Do you think that I won't teach you a lesson just because you are stuck here?"

That upset her mood to a great deal.

All she wanted was someone to clear her mind, but both the men she had met with were impossible. One ignored her, and this one was cursing at her due to her innocent request.

Her eyes turned downcast, and she reached into the conclusion that the situation was starting to give her a headache. That's why, to escape from it, she decided to take a small nap.

Maybe things would get better once she woke up.

After casting a disappointed glance at the man beside her, she held on to the blanket and pulled it up. Covering her face it, she closed her eyes, not caring about the insults.

Because of how she was deeply engrossed in her thoughts, she had failed to hear the sound of the door opening.

"Han Minjae, leave. Master will be angry if he sees you behave this way." A gentle voice resonated through the room.

Although someone else had entered into the room, Sihyeon wasn't in the mood to check the person. From her experience, this man could be a dude jerk as well.

"Tch! Probably this amnesia is a pretense of hers! Who knows that what she has in that sleeve of hers! Look at her acting scared and hiding her face! Does she think that—"

"That's enough, Minjae. You probably frightened her."

That caused a dry chuckle to escape from Minjae's mouth, and he spoke out, "Frightened and her? What a joke!"

After that, he stomped out of the room and slammed the door lightly. A shiver went down Sihyeon's body as the sound resonated through the room.

'What a psycho!'

She could hear the footsteps nearing to her and deduced that they belonged to the man who had just arrived. This left her wondering whether or not she should bring herself out of the covers.

"Mistress, I am Yoon Jaemin, Master's secretary. I apologise for the scare you have just gotten. That was Han Minjae, and he can be little rough at times.

If you are comfortable, I would hope for you to take down the covers. I will try my best to answer all the questions you have. This situation must be quite puzzling."

It might be because of how gentle and soft his voice was for that instant, Sihyeon had tears almost forming at the corner of her eyes.

Since the situation was weird and puzzling— coupled with the fact that there was no one helpful— she wasn't even able to able to properly comprehend it, and no matter how much of a optimist she was, she felt frightened.

Slowly, she removed the covers and took a look at the man before her. The corner of his lips were curved to form a small smile, and a pair of glasses was in front of his friendly eyes.

Finally someone who did not make her feel scared at a glance!

"Who were those men?" she questioned.

With a smiling face— that brought comfort to her— he answered, "Lee Hyunjin if you are asking for the man you met first.

You can say that Master's and Minjae has a special relationship. About Minjae, both of you didn't get along well in the past. That's why, he reacted that way."

The name Lee Hyunjin did not ring a bell in her mind.

"What is Lee Hyunjin's relation to me?" she questioned.

"This might be quite a shock, but both of you are married. If you had met the kid, Minjoon, he is both of your child, and he is five this year."

"That can't be it," she mumbled.

The absurdity of the situation was increasing with every second. She was supposed to give her finals yet things got this twisted.

Seeing that complicated expression on the girl's gave caused Jaemin to feel pity for her.

"I know that all of us are strangers to you currently, and we might be suspicious. But please trust me when I say that we don't mean any harm," he voiced out.

"Where are my parents?" This was her third time asking about them, and the desperation was much more this time around.

Her question caused him to look at the ground, and after a slight hesitation, he answered, "You needn't worry. They are alive and well. But due to some unfortunate circumstances, it would be best if you don't meet up with them now."

Her chest squeezed painfully at that, and she voiced out, "Why?"

Growing up, she barely had moments without her parents, and it was right to say that she was quite attached to both of them.

"It would be too much for you to take in right now," he voiced out, "When you recover, everything will be explained to you. Many things have occurred over ten years."

"So, I am twenty nine now?" she questioned after much hesitation.

The man nodded.

Having no memory of the past ten year, Sihyeon felt as if she had aged overnight. Didn't that mean that she wasn't able to enjoy her twenties and soon she will be in her thirties?

'I am that old!?'

Pursing her lips into a thin line, Sihyeon felt as if her mind had gotten blank. It felt that all of the dreams she had was crushed, and she did not know what to do anymore.

Although she was aware that those time were spent by her, at that moment, she wasn't in the state to think logically.

"About Master, I know that it isn't right of me to request this from you, but please be understanding of his situation. I apologise on his behalf.

It's just that you were his wife, and now that you have lost ten years worth of memory, it does imply that you will change a lot too. Ten years is a long period of time."

"What about my memories? When will I get them?" she questioned.

That would be the best possible solution to this situation. The nineteen year her wasn't suited to lead a life of a twenty-nine year old, and moreover, a child was involved in this.

This was probably the most difficult situation she had encountered!

"The accident you have gotten into was quite serious, and it had quite an impact," he stated, "Nothing can be predicted."

That made her fall into dilemma. This was same as saying that there was a possibility for her to not gain her memory.

After few minutes of silence, she let out the question she had been considering for a while. "A m-mirror? Can I have one?'

Until now, she had been denying the situation and couldn't bear to ask for it, fearing that everything would be real. The want for her to escape from this situation was greater.

But now, knowing that there was no way out of it, she decided to face it.

It wasn't her character for her to stay depressed about something for too long. Although her current predicament was too serious, she decided to face it with a smiling face.

After all, that's what her speciality lied at.

Yoon Jaemin nodded and reached for his back pocket. It was evident that he was prepared for this.

Accepting the mirror from him, she took in a deep breath and mustered her courage to take a glance of herself on the mirror. Her breath was stuck due to how she appeared.

Raising her hand, she touched all of her facial features— from her head to neck. Even though there was an obvious resemblance to the face she recalled, it was obvious that she had aged as well.

"This is for real."

She let out a gasp.

Her widened eyes stared at Yoon Jaemin before she stated, "This is actually for real! This feels like I have time travelled to ten years in the future! Is that even possible in reality?

I thought amnesia only happened in dramas. I wonder what could have happened to the future me for me to end up like this? No, it's not future me; it's the current me."

"Mistress, why don't you rest right now? You just woke up earlier and must be really tired. There are lots of time at hand."

Min Sihyeon wanted to protest— that she wasn't tired and would be able to absorb in more information. But something about his eyes told him that this wasn't a request but a warning.

Sihyeon could only relent and hid herself under the cover.

As she heard the man's footsteps, she raised her head and said, "By the way, do you know how to call for a doctor or nurse?"
