Obedient child [2]

A gasp escaped from her mouth as she stared at the large mansion in front of her.

While her wheelchair was pushed by a maidservant, she took in the view of her surroundings and found herself being impressed.

Besides the huge mansion was a beautiful garden, and seeing the amount of space occupied by his place, she wondered what else was present.

Although she had guessed that he was rich, this was beyond her imagination. Such a scene was something she had only seen in dramas or documentaries.

Never had she expected to visit one in real life.

Moreover, this was her current home!

How unbelievable was that!

This was starting to make it more difficult for her to believe whether or not this was really her. The theory that she was in the alternative world seemed more plausible for her.

How did someone like her without any special attributes get so lucky?

As much as she would want to consider this to be a joke, there was no way she was worthy of being played around by a man like Lee Hyunjin.

From his looks to his wealth— except for his attitude— the man definitely wasn't lacking. Could it be that his taste was truly bad to choose someone like her?

A man like him belonged to a fairy tale princess.

It wasn't that Sihyeon was looking down upon herself; it was merely that even for her this was too unbelievable.

Her eagerness to know their story intensified.

While she observed everything with excitement as her wheelchair was pushed forward, a pair of eyes were placed on her as if observing every single motion of hers intently.

The growing smile on her face placed a complicated formed on Hyunjin's features. As he scrutinized the female, she turned back.

"You better tell me our story as soon as possible! This is literally something out of a drama! I didn't even think such a story was possible in real life!" she excitedly voiced out.

"Hmm," he responded.

The fact that she hadn't met with silence from him was enough to excite her further. Since the man rarely spoke, that did imply he treasured his words.

'If that's the case, he will tell me about everything, right?'

Once the wheelchair was pushed inside the mansion, a butler greeted them by bowing. Seeing a real-life butler managed to bring a brightness to her eyes.

"This is Butler Min. If you need anything, just call for him," Hyunjin stated.

Butler Min appeared to be in his fifties and wore a stoic expression on his face. She wasn't even able to guess whether or man was fond of her.

"Nice to meet you. Please take care of me in the future," Sihyeon politely greeted after bowing her head slightly to him.

For a brief second, she noticed how his eyes widened due to her actions, but soon enough, he covered that from his features— as expected from someone with years of experience.

"Yes, Mistress."

When Sihyeon realized that staying at the hospital made no difference from the room she was in, disappointment filled her.

Although filled with expensive material, the room appeared to be quite simplistic and plain— something she did not consider to be her taste. Moreover, the walls were painted white, making it quite dull.

Not once had she been allowed to leave the room in a span of two days, and right now, she totally felt like a prisoner— except the part that she was treated better.

The only response she had gotten when she had asked about Lee Hyunjin or Minjoon was that they were busy.

How disheartening was that!

If they truly cared about her, they would have been able to visit her even for a minute! Leaving Hyunjin aside, how busy would a five year old even be to meet his mother!?

One more thing was that the servants or the nurses were not friendly. Even though they treated her carefully and catered to every need of her, they felt too stiff to her.

Moreover, it wasn't possible for her to hold a conversation with any of them.

It was as if everyone present here was too cold. This made her whether or not they disliked her. Then again, this was her first time experiencing such a situation, and there were higher chances of this being a norm around here.

That was terrible since it just caused her to feel more suffocated.

Hearing the door open, she lifted her head, and the corner of her lips curved up reflexively when she watched a familiar face step in.

"Mr. Yoon, hello!" she excitedly greeted.

He bowed to her and voiced out, "Mistress, you are looking better than before."

"Is that so? I thought that my complexion would be worse due to staying in this room at a stretch," she pointed out.

He let out a chuckle and spoke out, "You can do that once you recover fast."

"Even my parents weren't as overprotective as this," she stated, "Even though I had fractured my hand once, they let me out to do the groceries."

The smile on his face grew wider after her words, and he placed the bag in his hand on the table. Then, reaching into it, he took a box and opened it, revealing a mobile phone.

Staring at the phone, Min Sihyeon was taken aback from how different it looked from a decade ago. One thing that had solidified the truth for her was advanced technology.

Even though she was barely able to experience any of that, she had seen few to be quite impressed.

"Here, this is for you," he spoke out, "Since you are bored, why don't you play around with the phone? I will get them to install a television for you too if you want that. As long as it doesn't require you to leave the room, I can arrange it for you."

As he handed her phone, she accepted it from him, and her spark in her eyes showed how grateful she was to him. Finally, she was able to get some relief from her boredom.

"Thank you, Mr. Yoon. You are an angel. I thought I was about to get depression from staying here, but you have saved me."

"This is nothing much, Mistress, as long as it pleases you."

"Do you know what would make it better? If you don't call me Mistress! That makes me feel too old although I actually old now. Just call me by name," she energetically stated.

"I will keep that in mind," he spoke out.

"One more thing, although you are allowed to do whatever you want with the phone, please do not contact anyone or post your photos anywhere. This is to ensure your safety."

The jovial mood from earlier disappeared, and creases appeared between both of her eyebrows. While a frown formed on her features, she questioned, "What do you mean by my safety?"

"Mistress, I can assure you that this is no secret, but it won't be right for you to know about it. It might be too much of a pressure for you, and you have just gained consciousness. Don't worry! No harm will come to you."

His tone, although assuring, gave her no space to argue for the truth. As much as she was curious, she was aware that no answer will be given to her currently.

They only talked about what they thought was appropriate. Her opinions did not matter.

This was probably because of how immature she was.

Despite her downcast mood, she nodded her head.
