“What’s that?”
“An invitation.” Kris lifted his head and glanced at Nora. “To Liam and Aaron’s birthday banquet.”
Nora’s fingers that were moving on the phone paused.
Two days from now, it would be 11th February and also Liam’s birthday.
A few weeks ago, she had been the most excited for his birthday. Yet, everything seemed like an unattainable dream now.
“Did Liam send it?”
Kris shook his head. “The banquet is organized by Nancy.”
Passing the invitation to Krystal, he took a seat across and seemed to be in deep thought.
“What are you thinking?”
“I don’t understand. With his personality, it’s impossible for him to be a puppet in someone’s hands. Why would he let them exploit him?”
Krystal gave him a look. “Don’t forget he’s only 19. As outstanding as he is, he can’t go against a cunning and shrewd businessman all by himself.”

Stefan played the video on his phone which displayed the first floor of the Keaton’s mansion. Rather, it was surveillance footage that captured the entire incident. From the angle it was taken, it was unlikely that anyone had seen the camera. The video clearly showed that Esme had slipped on the ground while chasing Nora. Her fall had nothing to do with Nora, and it was but an accident. Stefan sighed in relief after watching the video. He didn’t need to think twice to know who the anonymous sender was. He immediately rushed inside the police station and submitted the evidence. After settling the paperwork, Nora was out of the police station.
